Just something to think about when donating clothes to a charity shop - if it's not in good enough condition for you to sell on Depop then charity shops will also struggle to sell. I used to volunteer in one and vols have to sort through which clothes are sellable, so rips, stains etc will just need to be recycled anyway.
I have done this and got rid of 4 whole bin bags to the charity that do not fit me now, I had a whole wardrobe of my size before I became disabled and naturally gained weight. I feel soooooo but better for getting my wardrobe down although it was a little tough glad it’s over now and I can focus on what actually fits me 🥰
I also became disabled and gained weight over the past two years. I definitely feel you. I recently had to basically cave and buy a whole new wardrobe cause nothing was fitting anymore. But we've got this!!
I always love your styling videos so yes please I would love an autumn one! Autumn is my favourite season for outfits so the more the better, plus you always talk about fashion in such a real and down-to-earth way which is so relatable and lovely to watch! Sending love as always!
One of the favourite parts om my week, is watching Lucy's new video Sunday night curled up in the sofa with a cup of tea. Her videos always makes me feel grounded ❤️
if all else fails, what i usually do with clothes that are stained but i want to keep wearing is i'll dye them! it depends on the stain and fabric of course but i find that i gives clothes a new life. for example i had a sleeveless coral red dress from h&m basics that one day got out of the washing machine with two big black stripes on the side, i have no idea what happened to it but i got some black dye and tie-dyed it so now it has the effect of having "flames", and it's very y2k guy fieri looking (which i love lol)
Came here to say this!! I use Dylon which you can get in Wilkos or Amazon, used on faded black hoodys and stained sheets!! Costs a fiver and is amazing.
Don't give up on that sweater, girl! Try water and little dish washing liquid, scrub it in and let it soak for a while. If that doesn't work oxyclean's gel stick has done wonders for stains. Wash after with warm water to loosen up the stain.
I would love another video where you style everything! I'm a few years older than you, and I'm really struggling to be inspired by fashion right now. I feel like I've finally reached that age where I don't like the trends because they feel too "young" for me (I remember seeing a TikTok where a girl explained she'd come to terms with not dressing "on-trend" anymore because the fashion had circled back around to what it was when she was a teenager.... it just feels hard to dress the same way you did when you were a teenager 😂). I both hate my current wardrobe, and feel confounded when I look for new pieces because I feel like i just don't like anything! So some inspiration from you would be SO nice!
With the discoloured shorts, if you wouldn’t buy it, then you probably shouldn’t donate it. If the quality is poor, then charity shops can’t sell it, which means they have to get rid of it. Especially with covid and everyone doing clearouts, they’ve been overwhelmed with low quality donations
Completely agree !! From someone who works in a charity shop we would really appreciate people asking themselves if they would buy an item of that quality, and if the answer is no then pls don’t donate it :))
You could embroider little white patches in a few random places on the Barcelona sweatshirt - just a thread to match the color of the material. Would hide the stain and also might add a very interesting/subtle flair.
Love your videos. I have to say that I have gotten into MAKING my clothes. You can actually KNIT YOUR OWN jumpers girl! Those shirts you are getting hemmed- I do it myself! And you can get a zipper REPLACED (of course helps if you like the jacket!)- but if its a slim puffer- I use those for liners under other jackets. I have found it very empowering to get involved with the maker community and sew and knit my own clothes- or alter ones that I have bought to fit better. It's kind of amazing! So many amazing women doing it themselves (from designers, to makers, to fabric sellers) . It's a great hobby and a great community. cheers!
I love your fashion vids 🙏🏼 I always get so excited to pull my autumn / winter clothes out again! My autumn fashion obsession this year is anything rust coloured 🎃🎃
For the stain on your sweatshirt try a little blob of washing up liquid on it and then put it in the wash. I have tried this with numerous stains like ketchup and especially grease stains and it works a treat every time.
I love knitted dresses, and there are a lot out there to choose from, fortunately. You might try a black one that you can dress up for evening. I prefer the midi ones that have a waist, rather than the boxy mini ones, they are flattering, elegant and super-warm and comfortable.
Re: Overwhelming/ Anxiety about decluttering- Something I have started doing is keeping a charity/depop basket in my room and anytime i am getting dressed in the morning and think "this doesnt fit" or "I dont love this anymore" I put it in that basket and when it is full donate or sell the items.
If you buy an embroidery thread the exact colour of the sweatshirt, and embroider over the stain with it, that might be a way to make it 'disappear'. You might also try pre-treating the stain spot with some Dawn dish soap directly on it. It’s better than laundry soap at breaking down oily stains.
Highly recommended Snag tights if you're usually not a tights fan. I have never found such comfortable, long-lasting tights in my life! And they are super plus size friendly which obviously not an issue for you but I think it's nice to support brands who cater to a wider range of bodies!!
Would love to hear more about the smaller brands you talk about 🪴 I definitely feel similar in the want to buy in that mid-range - sustainable and well made clothes that will hopefully last!
Loooving your content lately Lucy!! Your fashion videos always inspire me 😍so interesting to see a similar approach to mine regarding clothes and style! xx
I love these wardrobe videos! I'm quite discontent with my clothes at the moment, because I'm still young and my style has changed a lot since last year, or rather I've gone back to a style I've always liked but didn't feel confident enough wearing because it's a bit alternative. So I have a lot of pieces that I technically like, but just don't suit me anymore and I'm trying to figure out wether I can wear them in a different way to fit my current style, or I have to sell or donate them. Also I need to fix up and alter a few clothes, but I'm always too lazy to bring out the sewing machine. I guess I just need to start, but it's much easier just wearing the same 6 pieces I love and ignoring the rest :D
Would love to see the autumn trends styling video! Also, you should absolutely try the sheertex ultrasheer tights!!! They cost an arm and a leg for tights, but they don't rip and barely even pull, I swear they're made with black magic and I've never looked back
I'd highly recommend Snag tights, amazing if you've got curves and super comfy, size right for you and you'll not regret the purchase. I've got 20 pairs to date 💜
I wanted to send you all the love throughout this video. Doing this kind of clean out can be so incredibly difficult. Also to folks giving feedback, please ensure your using kind words. I notice some here aren’t so kind ❤️
I got the medium chocolate telfar after a long debate between chocolate and tan once I saw Jade Fox’s video. The small is so mini that I don’t think I would ever use it, but the medium I can see as an everyday bag.
Does anyone know where the jewelled 'christmas' jumper is from? I love it every time it shows up in the videos and I would love to find it on depop one day
Hey Lucy, have you thought about dying the Barcelona sweater a different colour? When I have clothing that I really like but can't get a stain out of, I sometimes dye them a darker colour so that the stain is not visible anymore. It might be worth a try with your jumper :-)
Jackets are my weakness, nothing changes up an outfit faster, or looks more stylish. From blazers to moto jackets, I love them. Trousers are the hardest thing to get a flattering , comfortable fit in, so I wear mostly knit ones. Our shapes just vary too much to make a single cut work for the majority of women. I have a thicker waist, but slim hips and thighs, so it’s tough to find tailored trousers that work. But overall, I wear skirts and dresses a lot more than trousers, love the comfort of them.
Try some bicarb and washing up liquid, straight into the stain, rub it into a paste, leave it on for 10 minutes then wash it like normal. It saved 2 t shirts I thought were ruined with dried in stains.x
Would you ever consider switching from depop to vinted? I'd love to buy some things from you but being from france, vinted is just so much easier to use 😊 (also congrats on 300k!!)
My mum once told me about a lady she had read a blog of who gave things a "last hurrah", basically if she felt emotionally attached to them or they were maybes, she forced herself to wear them "one last time" if she really liked wearing it, it stayed, if she didn't then she thanked it and moved it on... don't know if this will help anyone
I love this kind of video. However, Lucy, sometimes you should simply be honest with yourself and throw certain items away. Like your discoloured shorts: you say you can't sell items that aren't good enough quality, but the thing is you shouldn't donate them either. Most of the clothes that go to charity shops and even to developing countries end up in landfills anyway. So save a whole lot of energy wasting intermediate steps and throw them away yourself. It also makes you think twice about buying new things.
Charity shops are able to recycle and sell those clothes and make a small profit - I used to work in one! Even if it’s going to landfill, it’s benefitting the charity so I donate the items x
This is not always true! Charity shops send stuff to 'rag' the clothes are often collected and recycled. My local charity shop encourages you to bring any old fabric even pants etc because they can recycle it, my bf's mum is the manger of a cancer research which is a large charity shop chain - they definitely recycle the unsalable clothes
They won't be able to sell it. I've worked as a volunteer in a charity shop, and people more or less treated us like a dumpster, so they didn't have to feel bad about throwing away their stuff. It just creates more unnecessary work for the people working there, and the shops are already flooded with similar donations of unsellable items.
The charity shop are able to sell them to third parties and make additional revenue - so long as it’s clean, you’re benefitting the charity shop by donating those clothes instead of binning or recycling them! I used to work in a charity shop x
@@lucymoon Ah! That's clever. It is probably different from shop to shop or depending on where you live. Hopefully, the recycling systems will get more and more efficient over time. Sorry if my comment sounded rude, it wasn't meant to be xx
Even though bright colors are “in”, I find I want to eliminate the more brightly-colored items in my wardrobe. They’re not great with my pale, muted coloring, and I find them much harder to style than neutrals. I had been constantly searching for the right thing to work with these colors, and buying too much that didn’t really work. I just decided not to waste anymore time and money on trying to make them into outfits, I’m just purging them, at last.
I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions for plus size ‘chic minimalist’ creators or influencers. My style always leans this way but finding inspo for my body type is hard.
I wish you showed more of the things you got rid of and explained why you were getting rid of them :) but I love these videos ✨✨✨
The phrasing of 'upgrade to a medium' has hit me hard in the best way. Thank you
Just something to think about when donating clothes to a charity shop - if it's not in good enough condition for you to sell on Depop then charity shops will also struggle to sell. Well done, Kristina! This is so hard but so worthwhile. You did amazing ♥
I also became disabled and gained weight over the past two years. I definitely feel you. I recently had to basically cave and buy a whole new wardrobe cause nothing was fitting anymore. But we've got this!!

A perfect Sunday morning video.
"If it didn't fit, or didn't make me feel fit, it needs to go" 🙌🙌🙌
So glad to see the beaded jumper return and stay, it's so cute!
Don't give up on that sweater, girl! Try water and little dish washing liquid, scrub it in and let it soak for a while. If that doesn't work oxyclean's gel stick has done wonders for stains. Wash after with warm water to loosen up the stain.

Exactly, fabric recycling is the better option for items like that!
Completely agree !! From someone who works in a charity shop we would really appreciate people asking themselves if they would buy an item of that quality, and if the answer is no then pls don’t donate it :))
Exactly - when she said "if it's not good enough to sell, it's being donated" as if things in a charity shop weren't for sale ....??
Some charity shops in England have fabric recycling programs
okay but we aboslutely love the bun. 10/10 moment
Congrats on 300k 🥳🥳
Thank you!! 💕
Lucy, as a knitwear queen, can you do a guide to how you pick knitwear and jumpers for Autumn/Winter!
You could embroider little white patches in a few random places on the Barcelona sweatshirt - just a thread to match the color of the material. Would hide the stain and also might add a very interesting/subtle flair.
The telfar bag will look so good with your coloring!
You could embroider a collection of flowers over the stained part so it's not just one odd one, make it look like the flowers are meant to be there? X
Chill Sunday morning, a new Lucy video, life is good
yes please on styling videos! Also if you're looking for a puffer I have two from Arket and they are the best. ❤️
OMG!! major fangirling. Thank you so much
It’s got to be done 💃💃
The perfect video for a blustery October afternoon - thanks Lucy!!
I'm obsessed with your sweater top in the second half of this video
Loving the wardrobe content! Pls can we see a makeup collection/declutter/storage video? 💘

YES to the styling video!

For the stain on your sweatshirt try a little blob of washing up liquid on it and then put it in the wash. I have tried this with numerous stains like ketchup and especially grease stains and it works a treat every time.
I second this! This method worked for me with chilli oil stains!
Omg I LOVED this video!! 🥺❤️ these are the videos I look forward to the most every year!

your sparkly sweater is foreeeeever exciting HAHA
Yes please to styling the trends!
Nothing better than a declutter video ♥️♥️♥️
If you buy an embroidery thread the exact colour of the sweatshirt, and embroider over the stain with it, that might be a way to make it 'disappear'.
You might also try pre-treating the stain spot with some Dawn dish soap directly on it. It’s better than laundry soap at breaking down oily stains.
Use Dettol detergent! It’s so amazing - and it completely fixes any clothes (especially with high polyester content) that smell bad

Try dawn dish soap to get the stain out. Scrub well with an old tooth brush and then throw it in the wash.
How would you say you've learned more about fashion the last few years? Like is it through influencers, or reading, or just trying things out?
Yes please style 2021-2022 trends 😊
Would love to hear more about the smaller brands you talk about 🪴 I definitely feel similar in the want to buy in that mid-range - sustainable and well made clothes that will hopefully last!
Loooving your content lately Lucy!! Your fashion videos always inspire me 😍so interesting to see a similar approach to mine regarding clothes and style! xx
Loved this video! Would definitely love to see an a/w 21-22 trends video!
Would love some styling videos! Also where did you get those glasses!!!!!! They are gorgeous!!
I purchased my first Telfar during the same drop and im literally so excited!!
Buzzing for you!!
I love these wardrobe videos!

This video is so needed in my life! Thanks Lucy!
I'd highly recommend Snag tights, amazing if you've got curves and super comfy, size right for you and you'll not regret the purchase. I've got 20 pairs to date 💜
Loved this video and would love a styling one as well!
I'd love to see the styling video!
Been waiting for this video 🧡
I love curling up in bed with a cup of coffee whenever you put out these wardrobe videos
Sounds daft but try the Vanish bar (not powder) if you haven't already! It gets out literally every stain!
Me: *waiting for news on the jumper* 😥
Lucy: my fave jumper’s back!! ☺️
Me: 🥰🥰🥰
I wanted to send you all the love throughout this video. Doing this kind of clean out can be so incredibly difficult. Also to folks giving feedback, please ensure your using kind words. I notice some here aren’t so kind ❤️
I'll take this as a kick in the butt and get to it... welp. big thumbs up for the bun!
I always love your fashion videos Lucy 🤍 This one was so interesting
Loved this - you seem very content ☺️
I got the medium chocolate telfar after a long debate between chocolate and tan once I saw Jade Fox’s video. The small is so mini that I don’t think I would ever use it, but the medium I can see as an everyday bag.
Yeah I did debate whether to get the medium, hopefully I made the right choice! The medium is so nice too ✨
Does anyone know where the jewelled 'christmas' jumper is from? I love it every time it shows up in the videos and I would love to find it on depop one day
If I remember correctly it was from primark years ago
you could dye the stained sweater a darker color, like a dark green or even black

They’re from Ace & Tate 🤍
*the. Influencers you mentioned aren’t in the description box like you promised. Could you please update that? Thank you.
I’m travelling today but I’ll update it this evening with all of the info! 💕
Would love a styling video! Also wanna know more about this buying jeans lockdown fiasco 😂 I may have done something similar…
I combined 3 'looks' in the search engine normcore/grunge witch (new to me means grunge plus boho goth)!
Where's the black trousers with slits from? Loved the video!
What would you look for to find that type of embroidered sweater?
Hi Lucy! Where is your necklace from? I love it 😍
I gotta do thissss, i hardly have any autumn clothes
you told us 4 months ago that you don't need to buy any more heeled boots - just in case you needed this reminder 😉😁
i love your videos
Can you please link your depop 😊 x
amazing!!!
might arrive in march???? how does that work? i suppose its a good way of knowing you'll like it in the long run but that's insane
It’s a drop model so it’s made to order! More sustainable that way x
“Don’t buy the jeans that’s you’ve never seen you’ll regret it”- Orla Gartland’s wise words that I think about every time I go to buy jeans online
You mentioned selling on Depop but I’m not finding a link, anyone have that?
Would you ever consider switching from depop to vinted? I'd love to buy some things from you but being from france, vinted is just so much easier to use 😊 (also congrats on 300k!!)
You should try using industrial strength hydrogen peroxide to get the foundation stain out; it’s worked wonders for me :)
Maybe you can find inspiration in Juliana Pimentel, her style is amazing!
My entire wardrobe is either black or green. Theyre the only colours i like so i just go with it lol
I don’t see the links for the people you recommended 😅.

Hi. Can you update description box - lots of things you've mentioned that I want to check out.
Thanks!
Not sure about ‘donating’ clothes that are too worn or faded to wear yourself
They won't be able to sell it. I've worked as a volunteer in a charity shop, and people more or less treated us like a dumpster, so they didn't have to feel bad about throwing away their stuff. I couldn’t recommend Abi Marvel enough - she’s a creator and studio owner on IG with an incredible chic wardrobe 🤍✨
What's your depop? I can't find it ! Xx
Where can I find the links to channels and depop?
Most clothes donated to charity shops end up in landfill btw
I like how you normalise getting rid of clothes that no longer fit instead of having to change your body in this video :)
wait did you mention somewhere the people who had styles you like? can’t find them 😥
I don’t think any of the influencers mentioned have been listed?
