I know there’s a huge push for short form but please don’t ever stop doing long form videos, they really are my favourite type of content to sit down and watch in an evening instead of getting caught mindlessly scrolling from one short video to the next
Long form will always be my favorite video content. I love to sit down on a Sunday and do chores with a long video playing. Really like these wardrobe videos as someone who was obsessed with your capsule wardrobe content.
I love love love your long form wardrobe/outfits/fashion videos and always have! It’s a refreshing change since most content is short form now, so I would love if you continued in this direction.
Hey! I’d love a video of “what I’d wear for XYZ” so for example what I’d wear for a date, for a day out in London in Winter vs Summer, for dinner with friends, for a gig, etc 😊
Hey Lucy! As for the pit stains and smell: leave your white clothing items to soak in water with sodium carbonate. If you leave it to soak over night it should get rid of most of the discoloration and then throw it into the machine for a regular cycle. You could also add extra whitening powder to your cycle to be extra sure (I just use Vanish powder for white clothing and put a scoop in with my detergent). To get rid of the smell you can add a cup of vinegar to your cycle when doing laundry. If that doesn’t help, a soak will also do wonders, afterwards just wash as you normally would. You can use the vinegar on any color of clothing, but I’m not sure if the sodium carbonate would also have a bleaching effect on colored clothing, I haven’t tried that personally. Hope this helps!
White vinegar also helps get pet hair off of fabric when added to your wash. I've noticed a drastic difference in the amount of cat hair is left on my clothes after being washed (I have a cat with a lot of white hair and wear a lot of black lmfao)
I love a lookbook. Even if it's less realistic than a what I wore in a week, I almost prefer that because I'm looking for inspiration. I prefer long form videos because it gives me more time to get a feel for the outfit and figure what I like about it and what I want to implement. But I will definitely still watch fashion shorts
I would love to see "what i wear in a week" videos with your explanations for how/why you chose an outfit. That stuff fascinates me and it can help you realize why you love and lean on certain pieces or outfits!
for the smelly pits in clothes - I recommend vinegar. Just keep a spray bottle filled with vinegar and spray the area 30 minutes before putting the clothes in the washing mashine. WORKS MIRACLES!
I love wardrobe videos!! Pls don’t move everything over to short form (some of course is awesome)! But I think what I wear in a week/vlog type of vids are my fav 🥰
I’d love to see lookbooks/what you wore in a week/how to style 1 item 5 ways etc! I came off most social media last year and RUclips is now how I get my fashion inspiration so this would be super helpful 😊💖
I track my own wardrobe usage in an excel file, and I love seeing other people do it. Makes me feel a little less unreasonable for committing the time to up keep it. Something that I do, that I would recommend, is to track items that leave your closet. What item was it, how many wears did it have and why are you getting rid of it. I’ve been tracking long enough for a couple items to exit from pure wear and tear, and it’s interesting to know exactly how many times you wore the item before it became unusable. Also, if your clothes smell, put them in an airtight bag and put them in the freezer for a few days. Freezing temperatures should kill off any bacteria which is likely the cause of smell if it’s just lingering BO in your clothing.
I also track (with the app though) and find it sooo much easier to see what I think I usually wear vs. what I ACTUALLY wear often. This way, I can figure out my wardrobe staples.
@@thelovevvitch its called Acloset, prpbably very similar to the whering app. I can also use it for coming up with outfits. Its nice to see all the clothes I own in an overview.
Hi Lucy, my advice for sweat stains on whites is to apply bleach (if the fabric can take it), wash that out, then soak in nappysan. :) For any lingering smell, try soaking in white vinegar, this should kill the bacteria that is creating the smell. I agree with another commenter, it is often synthetic fibers that are holding onto the smell, so It can be tough to treat.
gosh, Lucy! how I missed your wardrobe videos!!!! and idk if you've already tried it, but the thing I do to remove sweat smells from my clothing is to let them soak in laundry soup for about a day or so (it happens mostly to my gym tops) and then, putting them in the washing machine for the regular cycle (if you don't want to wash it by hand). for me, at least, it's really effective. :)
Really enjoyed this video. Can't recommend a tailor enough, makes you look at fashion in a completely different way when everything can essentially 'fit'.
One of my fave ways to see fashion content are What I Wear in a Weeks! I like that they show what creators are actually wearing on a day to day basis rather than curating outfits for a video.
What helped me with pit smell was Nuud deodorant that has silver in it, which kills bacteria that generate smell. Plus I wash the pit stains by hand with stain remover soap. The extra friction does the job of removing stains.
The best thing I've found for pit stains/smell is sodium percarbonate. I let the clothes soak in warm water with that stuff. I only use it on white and light colors though (it reaaally helps the whites stay white).
I think your third word should be something like ‘upbeat’ or ‘lighthearted’! I’ve found it really helps to have a word that describes how you want to feel in your clothes, not just what they look like
Love your wardrobe content! My favourite would be long form thoughts and information heavy video’s diving into decisions for wearing / purchasing why certain silhouettes, fits, drapes, fabric(!) and even how things wear during the day. Also thoughts on why you wear certain thins for how they make you feel or influence others on how to think about you (f.e. I talked with some co-workers about what I pay attention to when I dress for work which includes needing to dress creative looking because of my field and not drawing attention to my chest. Another thing I do with clothes is dress to help me less stressed I’ll dress in dungarees cause that is what I imagine chill people to dress like). I would love some of your thoughts in that direction. Maybe something like a what I wear analysis, internet analysis by Tiffany ferg style?
Smelly tops can be soaked in water with some vinegar and potentially a squirt of a nice smelling hair conditioner. This happens because bacteria remain in the fabric and when you wear it for just an hour they multiply much quicker
I’ve been doing whering since I watched that video in january! I love it! It’s really helpful for me becausw I’m very frugal so if I can prove to myself something will be worn hundreds of times I can convince myself to spend a bit more money on things that I really want. Whering tip, it seems daunting to take photos but just pop the garment on a hangar and take a photo its better and easier in the long run. I realized I care much more about my clothes than most people. Luckily I work in a field that dovetails nicely!
Hi Lucy! Re. The pit stains and smell - put regular white vinegar in the fabric softener drawer of your washing machine, then wash the item. Should clear it!
Lemon soap is a life saver for stains, soak and run the soap in on the stain before washing, if it doesn’t work it needs a longer soak. Vinegar is also great for getting rid of weird smells:)
For smell, I personally have had a couple of items that when they got wet (like through sweat or other things) immediately begin to have that sweat smell and I was told to freeze them. What I was told was that there's some kind of bacteria that sticks around, and will reactivate when wet and you can kill them by freezing them. I recently tried it and it seemed to work! I popped them in the freezer for a few days (lowkey because I forgot about them), but afterwards I haven't noticed anything!
Loved seeing the before and after the tailor bit! Also I'm excited to see the data related to how much of your wardrobe you're actually wearing. I definitely perform the long form videos for these :)
Great video Lucy. Re pit smells, either put vodka in a spray bottle or use a perfume or body spray with a high alcohol content. Spray on the inside of the underarms of the offending garment until saturated. Leave for a few hours and then wash as normal.
White vinegar helps with the pit smell! My sister walked in 10 minutes before I sat down to watch this video and told me it worked well on her white shirts.
Really enjoyed it ❤ third word 🤔 ‘grown up uni’ ? Something about denim, dungarees and cardigans reminds me of uni style but you wear it in a more grown up way
Hello, for the smell, put the item in a bucket with water and good splash vinegar ( normal white vinegar, not cleaning vinegar) and leave it in there for 24 hours. Than wash. The smell should be gone. If not repeat with a bit more vinegar and leave it in a bit longer. ❤

I mainly have a "stinking" problem with dark clothes no matter how long I soak them or how often I wash them. What I ended up doing was just upcycling them into something else. For example, I made a fitted sweater into a mini skirt and now it don't wear it near my nose and it does not get that much sweat. The skirt ended up becoming one of my absolute favorite clothes.

A small tip regarding the pit smell in certain tops. It’s probably because of lower quality poliester. Cotton, linen and viscose should get smell free with good wash.
For smells I find that a pet carpet stain remover ( enzymes ) can sometimes work also try Borax usually use a handful with my bra wash up every so often to deodorize . Oxyclean may help too.
Advise for stains or smells on t-shirts/shirts that are cream/grey or white (not suitable for coloured)- I cover the area with bicarbonate of soda and they spray with white vinegar. Leave it to soak for at least 1 night and then wash it on 60 degrees. This has helped me immensely when washing. And washing your lights as soon as you wear them is a good tip too.
Hi Lucy, this video has come just at the right time as I’m clearing my wardrobe before a big move to London 🎉. My partner had the issue with deodorant stains/ sweat marks lol on his T-shirts- and he used white vinegar and oxi-action they came out like new! X
I'm so excited to see your stats!! I've been tracking my wardrobe on acloset and it's really interesting to see what I actually vs the amount of clothes I have
People are saying to use vinegar for removing persistent bad odors, personally I have not found that effective. What I have used successfully is plain old ethanol. You can also use plain vodka, the higher the ethanol % the better. Just put it in a spray bottle and spritz away. Most smells are organic molecules and ethanol is an organic solvent, so there you go.
I love your fashion content. It is always so inspiring in an accessible and achievable way!! Also, where is your pink jumper from? It looks stunning on you :) x
Pit smells: I pre-soak in borax. I also now put borax into the fabric softer slot. I believe that borax helps soften the water, which in turn can help detergents work more effectively. Checkout folks always ask me if I'm making slime, but I just do laundry like a grandmother!
Sweat smell: hang them in the sun. Preferably on a hot day. Air them out outside. (This works in Australia... presumably you have hot days sometimes in britain?) Soak them with either vinigar OR bicarb soda.. Not both at the same time, they neautralise each other.
Yasssss to the Bow rec! I literally gasped as I've lived like 5 min from that place for years - still in the area, but nice to see you sharing that view 🥲❣️ They do a fabulous job, I can totally endorse that comment you've made haha x
Also, I think an in-depth video of how you source/tidy your inspo photos can be super interesting! I personally have a hard time doing that properly, or even having the patience to do so. I think you are great when it comes to layering, making a casual outfit look more intentional etc - just a shout out as I'd love to watch your process. x
Soak the pits in white vinegar (only vinegar no water or any soda) for half an hour before washing as usual. This should get out both the smell and the stains!
I would say your third word could be youthful, fun, contemporary pop culture, even trendy (not in a negative way). Something that gets to the heart of your love of youth culture music media and how that gen z cool girl spin influences your otherwise neutral casual classic fashion.
For your whites, try laundry stripping. The additives people use in their laundry create a film on clothing that causes weird smells. Skip clothing that has spandex/lycra/etc in it. You can't properly wash clothing that has that woven right into the fabric without ruining the whole item. Waist elastics can always be replaced but entirely elastic fabric can't be. As for preventing pit stains, ditch the aluminum deodorant and get pit shields. They're either disposable or washable pads that go in the arm pit and absorb the sweat so it doesn't get on your white fabrics or your fancy fabrics. You should be using these with anything that's "dry clean" and if you're going to be wearing a sweater without a tshirt under it, you need pit shields, just for the sake of sweater preservation. Sweaters (at least the quality wool ones) only need to be washed a couple times a year if you're not getting them sweaty.
I'm interested: did you photograph all your clothes or did you find the clothes from their database? :) for the app I mean. I actually have an excel sheet that has all my clothes but I'm kinda interested to maybe try this since I'm visual person...
I made a whering account in january and its much easier and quicker to take your own photos and you can make them more consistent which visually is really nice. This might just be for me because some of my clothes are 5+ years old and all are thrifted so there aren’t a lot of e commerce photos available :)

Sweaters (at least the quality wool ones) only need to be washed a couple times a year if you're not getting them sweaty.
i still like lookbooks!
Bring back lookbooks!
We desperately need those details on that cream skirt/skort.
OMG what amazing channel have I stumbled upon
I will always prefer long form content, for what it's worth.
Love
oh my gosh you look unbelievably beautiful in this video! not the point! but!
That three word method sounds a lot like Orly Shani's Style Language. Maybe you could take her course and compare the two methods
@@crazygossipgurl101 yeah I have the same, most are thrifted.. thanks for the experience!
Whats the model of the Agolde Jeans that u recommend? ❤
the 90s pinch waist! 💗

Outfit content would definitely be better as longform content.
Did you also count sports wear and pyjamas?
