I have had the G8 for a month and I love it! Been playing a lot of NDS and PSP emulation. BTW, for those that want another color, check the Nubia Blade 2. It's basically a G8 but rebranded for Nubia and it comes in transparent black!
If you are willing to spend an afternoon setting things up (and there are good guides out there) you can turn any phone into a real good emulator machine. With a controller this good attached to it, you will be able to really enjoy some retro games. High end phones have OLED screens and the such. My Note 9 with a Gamesir G8 attached is the best GBA emulation machine I have. But seriously, gamesir, PLEASE make a joycon replacement.
People pay so much moneys for retro device but for god they are so bad compare to phone and this controller. I can buy k60 used for like 240$ and about 60$ for this new g8 ( i live in vn right under china so ... ) With 300$ compare to base odin 2, only chip and battery is abit weaker, every thing ele is much better, screen is 3x better ( u can play android game with 120fps if game support, i'm playing t3 arena 120fps on android root when my ipad mini 6 cant, it's so much smoother than 60fps ), controller is better, u got mobile signal if u want, much esier to find and repair...
This looks cool and comfortable, but I'm also thinking of use cases. I can't imagine whipping that out sitting in a doctor's office or at a gathering. Lol.
So I have a Backbone v2, mostly because I have some emulators on my S21 Ultra. It works well for that particular use case, but I don't use it very often. I like the Galileo quite a bit, but they need to make a v2 themselves that, like the Backbone, makes it so you don't have to remove your case. I'd also like to see some different colorways. The American version of the SNES colors are fine, but I really love the Super Famicom "skittles" colors - or perhaps the Playstation layout, or hell even the Dreamcast colors would be cool - anything really. The Backbone v2 also has a little carry case which makes it ultra portable. I just toss my in my bag and, with my phone, I always have a PS2 and below library of games with me.
You don’t have to remove your case with the backbone? I honestly want a v3 backbone with better ergos control wise. The thumbsticks are so tiny like the switch
Here we go again with one of your videos making me want to upgrade. I've had the Gamesir X2 Pro for a little more than a year now. It's not the most comfortable but was the best at the time at it's price point. Unfortunately they don't have hall effect sticks so I'll eventually upgrade when they start to drift. I'm not a phone gamer at all, but have been ever since I was introduced to Stadia then Geforce Now. As a soon to be parent, I've shifted over to switch/phone gaming and left my PC to simply be for work.
Firstly, sorry! 🤣 Secondly, congratulations on being a parent soon!! Yeah I totally get you, since getting our puppy I just work on my pc and mainly play switch/steam deck, even using Xbox etc way more as it's just easier! I could definitely get used to playing using my phone with one of these if I was travelling light since I always have my phone with me!
The GS X2 Pro way too small but this looks a lot bigger and normal controller size buttons. Swap stick is a plus and the PS Mode is clutch! Should be able to play CoD mobile now.
@128KB I have a phone specifically for gaming so I don't have to use my main phone. I use "Console Launcher" app to make it feel more official handheld like. You can ad your own background + add apps to home screen navigate almost any app with just the controller, minimal touch screen.
Interesting product, you don't seem as excited by this one as the X2s or the X4. Why is that? I love the fact it has USB-C passthrough and Headphone port.. Still considering all 3, but trying to figure out what to go for!
Great review 👌🏻 This looks awesome. Strong contender vs. the Backbone controller. I've seen in a previous comment you don't have a Backbone, but definitely going to look into the pros and cons of these different types. Also seen a comment about your finger. Ouch dude! Sounds bad 😮 Hope it heals super quick for you 🤞🏼
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the vide :) you're right, haven't got a backbone but if we source one I'd be up for doing a comparison! This one is really good though tbh. Thanks, frustrating it's my finger I've broken, can't hold controllers properly and editing these videos takes even longer lol!
One word, emulation. Having my favourite titles on a phone is a dream. Just dont like touch controls. Even GTA definitive edition is a drag with touch controls.
Charging only, there is no controller with DP Alt Mode (it's a great idea tho, but costly one) There are nice docks tor Switch,Ally,Deck etc that work with phones, however, you need to research how many watts they acctually output All of them say "100w PowerDelivery" but they output 5-10w, just found one that outputs 45w on Geekbuying of all places. I need it for my RedMagic 9 Pro
Where can I find a list of games that work with iOs? So many games just dont support controller like "Formula 1" by EA Sports or "FC Mobile" (Fifa)?? thanks
I'm not sure about one thing. If I want to play efootball pes with this controller it's working? Because I'm a huge fan of efootball pes end I want to play every where. Please let me know. Thanks!
Bro I would enjoy the video but you really need to work on how much you waffle. I dont know if you have a script or not but it felt chaotic even though I'm definitely interested in these devices! I hope it doesn't come across as too negative. Just wanted to give some feedback Earned a sub regardless thanks for the video and effort
Also would have liked a B roll type section to show close ups of the device/stuff you're talking about/gameplay with no commentary to see the device in action and the quality of it but maybe that might just be me :)
Szkoda ze nie jest w pełni kompatybilny z mojm smarfonem Poco X6 Pro 5G bo nie ładuje sie podczas grania i nie mogę słuchac muzyki przez słuchawki przewodowe
Looks cool, but yeah, I'm not really a mobile gamer. I have some emulators and some games that don't need a controller. I own the kishi v1 and it's ok but i don't use it much
idk about anyone else but when I click a tech review, if an American voice follows, I click away, and I'm American. So you had that going for you. But there's fantastic info here. In depth but accessible. Cheers man, subscribed

That's awesome! Totally forgot to mention emulation, this must be a beast for that! Damn, a transparent black would be dope too!
@@128KBit is a blast. I am using the g8 with aether sx2 on my s24 ultra and I am Re living my childhood.
Keep in mind steaming single player games on phone is much much much more stable than online game streaming
Why can you actually play codm on this? That you cant with the razer kishi?
@@Asadc1995You can play codm with any controller

Really good point, can't believe I forgot to mention emulation! Yeah, imagine a Joy-Con alternative like this by them!

This looks well worth getting, even if you don't play much on your phone
Yeah it's surprisingly really good!
@@128KB The BACKBONE One is another option but is about 1/3 more expensive. This is priced right, in line with decent level controllers.
Excellent job. I got this waiting on it from China. You got me super hyped!!

I use a case on my phone with g8 and theres no need t9 remove it unless you have really thick case.

There’re some user that mod this controller being fitted for mini tables such as iPad Mini and that is fking insane handheld gaming experience!!!
I enjoyed this, how about more phone/Bluetooth controller reviews
Thanks for the feedback! Maybe I'll do some more in the future :)
Your welcome mate :)

What are the four buttons in the upper right like? Are they mushy like an Xbox controller? My biggest complaint about the backbone is they are clicky
Nice review Sir.
Thank you!
Bro I would love to see a game sir vs backbone comparison
Maybe in the future, currently don't have a backbone!
If you play emulators and stream single player games on the phone it's low key the best mobile gaming option
One word, emulation. Having my favourite titles on a phone is a dream. Just dont like touch controls. Even GTA definitive edition is a drag with touch controls.
imagine raging using this, breaking your controller…..AND your phone 💀( fun review btw, )
you need to dig more, this "review" does not make justice to the device, using it for only streaming was a mistake imo
So none of them come with a lightning plug?
Is this better than a scuf game controller ?
Is the USB a pass though or strictly charging only, wonder if it can support AV out?

Can you review the Red Magic controller similar to this?
I believe it's the same product just rebranded
Yes.
Does the gamesir also work on The GamesirVX aimbox become I don't see it in the options
Can you do the nyxi wizard vs mobapad m6hd?
Does it have rumble ?

D-Pad could've been better shit really cuts into your thumb trying to do Dragon Punch. Mine also have 5% trigger drift out of the box.
mine didnt have the usb c issue
Is it good for warzone mobile?
Yesss and it has back buttons which will give you an advantage

Yeah, broke my finger :( I've got a Dobermann pup, finger got caught in the long line as he ran and snap... 6 - 8 weeks of strapping it up hah!

Bsp d3 is the same thing for 15 dollars
Bro wasted too much time.
Literally ignored most important thing. People buying becouse of touchscreen mode, and this thing makes this review usrless.
