For non-german speaker out there. BenXC just pinned my comment. It's basically a thanks to him for the vid, the tip to remap your controller if your planning a long day fishing (I remapped A to ZL) and a translation of the names of the fishes to german because the translators did cute things like Sunfish to Mondfisch (like moonfish) and Moonfish to Gotteslachs (like Salmon of God).
Suggestion for when you go fishing for the king salmon in Moonbrooke... build an icehouse to keep out the blizzard damage. Four walls, a door, and enough room on the floor to cast into water. I made mine 5x5 for ease with the floor being one block of water deep except for one side to stand on and put a fire and bedroll down for your poor character's comfort. It was the first thing that came to mind after living and fishing in Minnesota for 25 years. Just recently got into the PC release of this, and your vids have been a fantastic resource.

Hearing you struggle to pronounce _coelacanth_ made me wonder where the hell that word came from. Apparently it comes from the Latin word Cœlacanthus meaning "hollow spine," which itself is derived from a Greek work I can't even begin to spell or pronounce. You'd think if they were going to alter the Latin word though, they'd try to spell it closer to the way it's pronounced (see-lo-kanth). Orite, the video. Thanks for actually showing the locations on the map. I'm doing that quest to find the king salmon and couldn't remember where the stormy part was on Moonbrooke.

If you mean shadow blobs that’s how most games with fishing aspects do it (harvest moon type games too) The fishing itself is not like Animal crossing because in animal crossing there’s no bar/meter thing It’s just press a when it bites and that’s it
Just a sidenote for everyone, I just realized that even though you'll get credit for catching any sized fish for the Marine Monument the Fish Wont Appear in the Item list of your Builderpedia Unless You Catch the Smallest Version of it.
I came to this video because I used an online guide to help me but I still didn't understand where to stand for the fish at Moonbrooke dock. I was confused whether I had to stand at the north of the dock or the rocks further north, but I didn't realize I had to build to the edge, the "deep water". Thank you for your videos! I've been watching your video s for a while and got a question ...how do I keep my fish from escaping?? They turn red and then I lose them. If it small I can get it sometimes... I can't tell from videos so can you help explain this to me please I'm pulling my hair out .lol I really like your videos too
Thank you very much Lena, I think the game tells you to press and hold the "fishing"-button when the fish is red and angry if I'm not mistaken, I would try that :)
Hey man. In hope of some advice. Been trying to catch the colorful carp. So far I have 22 rainbow trout 11 big rainbow trout and 15 whopping rainbow trout. Am I doing something wrong?
I know I am very late, but it might help someone else out there I believe Ben meant to say it was big sized, not medium... I had the same problem until I decided to check what the big sized fish were Hope it helps!
Hi BenXC, I'm trying to build a whole bunch of aquariums and I couldn't put fish in after a certain point. Is there just a max limit to the number of fish that can be placed on the Isle of Awakening?
I'm only missing two fish 😊 and I got 36/40 without cheating (without looking up where they were) xD Damn I'm proud of myself. Also the whale shark is sooo hard!!!

Can you please help me again? I´ve got the DLCs on friday and now I need to build a big aquarium for the girl on that island. The problem is, that I can´t fill the whole tank with water, just the edges. How can I solve it?
Just go inside the tank and fill the inner room with water. Or stand on the edge and point the water inside (maybe with the pree of the shoulder button to look down).
@@BenXC I´ve done it (my tank is about 3 blocks high and about 15 blocks wide so far), but it only pours water at the current level, not above me (and when it does, only at one block, so it is looking terrible atm)
Question... the game told me i would get the update after i got certain point on the game so i was wondering if i need to have the pot upgrade it for me to unlocked the dlc to unlocked the island where i get the fishing rod? @@BenXC yes i did finished the story line i even have the mallet the hermit give u but the game said after i download the dlc said i will unlocked it after i get to certain point in the game but didn't said what i was missing i was like huh? I finished the story already 3 days ago and by the way the last chapter wasn't what i was expecting it got me by surprise! That's way i was wondering if i still need to upgrade the pot i still need 12 tablets requests to unlock the pot upgrade got the pencil and the chisel already tho just not sure what else i still missing
Have you (not bought) it from the psn store or eshop? Search for Dragon Quest Builders 2 and unlock all the DLCs you bought. Then in the game you should get some notifications and when you read the corresponding mail, the shipcaptain will tell you all you need to know.
Still need to play through chapter 1 of DQB1 to unlock Terra Incognita. Yesterday I finally finished DQB2. So hopefully I can make the videos in the next couple of days :)
Be happy that you haven't played pre 1.6.0 patch ^^ there you only had 5 pages. YOu need to put down some items in chests (or better drawers/closets) when you bag is full :)

Seems I am the only one after searching that has all the DLC installed, but the aquarium DLC is not functioning? There was some message after loading up the game after DL it... Something about needing to be at a certain point in the game for unlock? I am far into Post game atm, so I don't know. Hopefully someone can help me. I've looked everywhere for an answer with no luck. I'm trying to complete finns fish quest for angel fish. I have the fish but everytime I try to leave that Island the boat guy said I cant take them and puts them in the storage sack. So how do I get the fish off that island and back to finn to complete the quest. Thanks.
Have you completed the story section for that island? The restrictions for taking items with you on and off the island are relaxed afterward. If you haven't, just focus on the main quest and furthering the plot until you have. You should be able to take the fish with you after that region has been liberated.
I know its very unlikely butg i hope they add more fish cause just 40 isn't that much compared to other games as the fishing in this game is really fun
I caught blowfish off the front of the boat at the docks where u first come to moonbrooke...and much easier too not much competition except those darn Salmons
You can catch fish in any “water” (the ones in video) So yes Can’t say it has anything “special” in it The catches are probably the same as anything catchable in your island You can even fish in your “pools” lol
I have a problem, so I was following this guide and counted 39 fishes. BUT! There is one fish missing. I've checked the builderpedia TWICE and I don't know what's missing. The carp in the underground lake in Khrumbul Dun are large for me on the switch . The medium ones seem to all be rainbow trout :o

What are the three kinds of fish that you can get minus dlc and how?
They drop from the mermen on coral cay as far as I know, and a few from the jelly slimes.

It should be around 1000. You can't make all 17 kinds whith 80 crops each. There you'll get problems.

Can you please help me again? I´ve got the DLCs on friday and now I need to build a big aquarium for the girl on that island. The problem is, that I can´t fill the whole tank with water, just the edges. How can I solve it?
Just go inside the tank and fill the inner room with water. Or stand on the edge and point the water inside (maybe with the pree of the shoulder button to look down).
@@BenXC I´ve done it (my tank is about 3 blocks high and about 15 blocks wide so far), but it only pours water at the current level, not above me (and when it does, only at one block, so it is looking terrible atm)
Pouring water above you? Go to the stones at the border and pour water down :)

Have you finished the story already? Although it should unlock pretty early. Hmmm maybe you haven't unlocked it in the psn or eshop yet? Otherwise there should be a mail waiting for you.

@@BenXC yes i did finished the story line i even have the mallet the hermit give u but the game said after i download the dlc said i will unlocked it after i get to certain point in the game but didn't said what i was missing i was like huh? I finished the story already 3 days ago and by the way the last chapter wasn't what i was expecting it got me by surprise! That's way i was wondering if i still need to upgrade the pot i still need 12 tablets requests to unlock the pot upgrade got the pencil and the chisel already tho just not sure what else i still missing
Have you (not bought) it from the psn store or eshop? Search for Dragon
Quest Builders 2 and unlock all the DLCs you bought. Then in the game
you should get some notifications and when you read the corresponding
mail, the shipcaptain will tell you all you need to know.

Be happy that you haven't played pre 1.6.0 patch ^^ there you only had 5 pages.
YOu need to put down some items in chests (or better drawers/closets) when you bag is full :)

@ 10:43 In the shallow beach water in Furrowfield where the Blue Tangs and Flounders are, I feel it's worth mentioning that I've also caught a *Clownfish* there as well. Just wanted to point that out.
Seems I am the only one after searching that has all the DLC installed, but the aquarium DLC is not functioning? There was some message after loading up the game after DL it... Something about needing to be at a certain point in the game for unlock? I am far into Post game atm, so I don't know. With that out of the way, just wanted to tell you how amazing your channel is, and thank you for all your helpful vids regarding this awesome game.
NVM, Lol, The "Tablet Complete" screen popped up when I started the game after DL the DLC and cut of the DLC message about checking the mailbox.
I've caught all fish, and i only am at 37/40, i even checked the bulpedia and counted only 37 different fish species.

Hopefully someone can help me. I've looked everywhere for an answer with no luck. I'm trying to complete finns fish quest for angel fish. I have the fish but everytime I try to leave that Island the boat guy said I cant take them and puts them in the storage sack. So how do I get the fish off that island and back to finn to complete the quest. Thanks.
Have you completed the story section for that island? The restrictions for taking items with you on and off the island are relaxed afterward. If you haven't, just focus on the main quest and furthering the plot until you have. You should be able to take the fish with you after that region has been liberated.

I know its very unlikely butg i hope they add more fish cause just 40 isn't that much compared to other games as the fishing in this game is really fun

I caught blowfish off the front of the boat at the docks where u first come to moonbrooke...and much easier too not much competition except those darn Salmons
Also, I think the SHY is actually more like exhaustion as the fish is tired of fighting and more easier to pull in

Can’t say it has anything “special” in it
The catches are probably the same as anything catchable in your island
You can even fish in your “pools” lol
