    Just got my new SG-22's, and I absolutely love them. Been wearing the SG-12's for the quite awhile and they have been my favorite boot.... Until now! They are so comfortable right out of the box, lighter and have more articulation. It was a tough decision to pay a premium over the 12's, but am so glad that I decided to spend the coin. If you are on the fence between the 12 & 22, I highly suggest you get the new 22's.

    Great review, as usual - not just repeating the manufacturer's marketing splurge like some other well-known retailers. Looks like another great Gaerne boot, but - as you say - they certainly don't hold back on the price! Keep up the good work

    Been wearing Gaerne for year's. SG11's and SG12's and im super stoked for this new boot. My only complaint ever was the overly thick toebox but i tolerated it because neither me nor my kids had foot injuries. But im excited to check out this new model. Great review!

    wow great review, you missed nothing. I'm a bit confused with sizes. I have sidi crossfire 3 in a 44 and that is a 9.5-10 US according to their official site.. But Gaerne's site says a 44 is an 11?

    • @AtomicMoto
      @AtomicMoto  Год назад +1

      Do not know where you are seeing that, but it is not correct. A 44 is a 9.5 in Gaerne's line.

      @@AtomicMoto I am usually a 9.5-10 and my size 44 SG12 boots fit me perfectly. I'm always amazed that they are so protective but still so comfortable. The SG22s sound even better! Thanks forthe best review bar none for these boots!

    Hello! I love your boot reviews. I'm looking to purchase a new pair of boots. It's overwhelming but I've narrowed it down to the Sidi X Power or the Gaerne SG-12's. The SG-22s are nice, but just out of my budget. From your experience with the two options, I've narrowed it down what would you recommend? I'm riding trails and building my hard enduro skills and confidence. Thanks!

    • @AtomicMoto
      @AtomicMoto  6 месяцев назад +1

      They are both great but for Hard Enduro I would recommend the SG12s.

    But I want to known weight comparison between SG-12 and SG-22
    Becaus someone told me SG-22 heavier than SG-12

    • @AtomicMoto
      @AtomicMoto  Год назад +1

      That person is incorrect. This was discussed at 8:40, for some reason photos on scale did not render. Weight is same, 4.84 lbs for SG22 and 4.76 for SG12. That is within margin of variance for individual pairs. Additionally SG22s were weighed after wearing, and humidity adds some weight.

    Great review! I've been wearing crossfire 3 (TA's) in a size 44. What should I order in the SG22? Also how are they in the width compared the CF3 TA? I had tried Xpowers but they were too skinny compared the CF3.

    I have moved from SG10s to 12’s, on my second pair of 12’s.
    I have this annoying issue with the 12’s where if I spend any time in them, a long trail ride or race my right small toe takes a beating, I have resorted to taping my toe to keep of from getting a nasty blister.
    Even went up a 1/2 size on my last pair thinking this would help but did not.
    Wondering if the 22s might resolve this issue with the redesigned toe box?

    Does the SG-22 have more ankle room than the SG-12? I love my SG-10s. I've had multiple pairs over the past 15ish years. I bought a pair of SG-12 but they squeezed my ankle too much so I sold them.
    The squeezing caused bruising and sore spots on the sides of my ankles. I tried to like them. I wanted to make the work, I wore them on multiple rides to break them in. I even tried stretching them out by stuffing a softball in the the offending area to stretch it during storage but it didn't help.

    • @AtomicMoto
      @AtomicMoto  Год назад

      Having recently switched back and forth again (this past Sunday) I can tell you the 22s have a little more space in the ankle. Not much though. I think you would be better off with SG10s or Sidi Crossfire 3 TAs (which are also wide).

    • @Gmullinax
      @Gmullinax Год назад

      I've never tried the Crossfire 3 TA. A friend just bought a pair of Sidi X-Power. They felt really good but I had 3 complaints.
      1. The toe box was wide enough but too short. I couldn't wiggle my toes up and down. I have turf toe on my big toe and have arthritis in it. So I need some room.
      2. The arch support felt a little too tall.
      3. Not a fitment issue but their buckles are annoying. If left unbuckled, they catch on clothes and socks, etc.
      How does the Crossfire 3 TA compare to the X-power in those areas? Keep in mind, I love the toe box on the SG-10. Besides being heavy and a little bulky it's just about a perfect fitting boot for me. Ive used them for everything from hard enduro to Baja and even adventure trips wearing them for 2 weeks straight. I will be perfectly happy buying another pair, I just want to make sure I'm not missing out on something even better, lighter or more offering more protection.

    • @AtomicMoto
      @AtomicMoto  Год назад +1

      Crossfire is wider and different shape than the X-Power which will likely resolve the toe issues. It is a little smoother and slimmer, easier to shift/brake, feels more athletic. Toebox is actually better than SG10 IMO. SG10 is a little more sturdy feeling. May be more familiar to you. Frankly both boots are outstanding and you can't go worng either way.@@Gmullinax

    Can’t decide on SG 22 or AS tech 7 enduro drystars. I’m in Florida and it can get wet af down here n I sent it through rivers even when I’m up north. So it’s tough. I know Gaerne is ass when it comes to water log.

      AS T7 Drystar are non waterproof at all. I bought a pair recently and as soon as I first rode under rainy weather and small puddles crossing, my feet were soaked. I sent the boots back to Alpinestars. Maybe I had bad luck on this pair but according to all I could read, the problem seems to be well known
