Unfortunately it shows them as Temporarily out of stock in my size for all color options... I was looking to replace my well worn SG12's with either an SG12 Enduro version (also out of stock) with more traction on the sole or give the new 22's a try. Waiting for size 10 to become available...
Yeah, these boots went quick! I just looked at some orders and we're hoping to have a size 10 in all the colors back in stock toward the end of this month or early August. Did you click the "email when available" box? It'll notify you as soon as they get into stock.
Just grabbed some on sale up here in Canada , super secure, toe box is more narrow but taller for me. Not as roomy as my 12's. Buckles seem better quality. I got the same size as my 12's (43 euro) im 6ft 160ibs if anyone cares lol
Should be here pretty soon! As for insoles, I just use a pair I bought at a local retailer. Just about anything is better than what comes in them. - Chase
Chase...First off, you offer a great way to promote your products. You come across very well. Secondly, I have a pair of SG12's which hardly even show wear after 2 full years of use. My question is this, looking for a new color scheme (KTM) and wondering if the Tech 7's would serve as a good alternative to the extremely protective/durable boot I now use??? Not looking for something as stiff as my SG12's, just something to change up the colors a bit.....
The Tech 7 is a very different feeling boot than the SG12, but it a good way! They're stiff new, but they will break in quick and give more range of motion than a Gaerne. I don't think I've ever heard someone say the Tech 10 wasn't comfortable either so you shouldn't need to worry about that. There are two issues that I've had with the Tech 7 that would keep me from wearing them, 1. They don't hold the ankle in place nearly as well as an SG12, Tech 10 or Fox 2. The opening around the calf is too small for my big legs and a knee brace. Aside from that, and you probably already know this, the durability just don't be the same as an SG12. But if you're looking to try somethin new and switch it up, the Tech 7 is a great boot. - Chase
It doesn't look like there are half sizes. I have a pair of SG12 size 9.5 with about 10 hours on them. Great boots except they are brutal around the ankle, especially just above the medial malleolus. Are the 22 a bit looser in the ankle, or the same??
It really just depends on how you want them to fit. As for the ankle foam, there isn't quite as much as the SG12, but they are pretty similar. If you are experiencing pain above the malleolus, I don't know how much better these will be. Overall, they are more comfortable than my SG12s, but most of that comfort is due to the increased area in the toe box. - Chase
The 22 could do with a deeper lugg sole for grip out in the real world for ADV work??? Apart from that? Potentially, great boots. Always great clear explanations but, could have opened the buckles up an let us look inside the boot.??? ❤❤🎃🎃🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🏍️🏍️
How are they with feel? Can you still feel the brake pedal and is the toe box easy to get under the gear shifter? Boots look sick, i really want more protection with hard landings
They aren't as good as an Instinct or Tech 10, but they don't take long to get used to. The more I ride in mine, the more I like them! Only thing I would say is that some riders think they run a half to one size big. - Chase
Unfortunately we don't have an ETA for those but you can click the red button on the product page to get an email notification when those are in stock.
The next best boot for peg feel is the Tech 10 IMO. They have a relief cut in the sole that allows it to flex and helps with feel. Sidi was has a new boot coming in March with a new sole that Malcom Stewart has been running. I haven't heard any feedback, but we'll see how it is. - Chase
Ankle is lot looser vs sg12s and boot has lot more flex now aswell. If had tighter ankle and good bit stiffer be a nice upgrade to the sg12. New buckles are worse aswell. Have a notch on them they get stock on vs smooth buckle on the sg12.
Yes, it fits my calves! The opening is the same as the SG12 which had the largest calf opening of all the premium boots. As for feel, it's not the best in that category compared to an Instinct 2.0 or a Tech10. But I've got about 6 hours in mine now and I'm liking them more and more. - Chase
The SG12 does not have an adjustable buckle, so yes, it is a new thing or the SG22. They didn't say they're the first company to do it, but it is a new feature for this boot.

I saw these in a shop in Thailand back in Feb. They looked sweet, sadly I couldn't afford them and got some Fastback boots instead.
Again, AWESOME review of a product! Like always the best chanel for gear review by Chase 😎💪🏻
Glad you think so!
I've had my SG12's for about 7-8 years and they are amazing.
But I am looking at these 22s to upgrade my 12s.
When is the riding video coming? What insoles would you recommend?

How is the feel on the brake and shifter compared to the SG 10
It's pretty dang similar. I think it's really hard to get the peg feel much better with the traditional stitched on sole. - Chase

The SG-22 does have bit more room and is more comfortable around the ankle area so should definitely be worth checking out.
@@rmatvmc Moving up to the size 10 I assume...

Would you say they are suitable for a wide foot?
Yes, Gaerne's are known to suit wide feet and this boot is no exception.
The 22 could do with a deeper lugg sole for grip out in the real world for ADV work???

Always great clear explanations but, could have opened the buckles up an let us look inside the boot.???

@@rmatvmcthx Chase! I think i’m just gonna give them a try! I’ve heard many good things about these new 22’s
If one has undergone an ankle surgery with plate implanted.. would you recommend SG12 or SG22 for ankle protection..
They are very similar for ankle protection and support. I don't think you'd notice a difference, honestly. - Chase
@@rmatvmc between sg22 and tech 10 which ones would you recommend for ankle support/protection?
When can I expect size 12 in the Anthracite/black/ red to be back in stock?
Unfortunately we don't have an ETA for those but you can click the red button on the product page to get an email notification when those are in stock.
What boot has the best footpeg feel that's not the fox instinct/motion. Not happy with the durability. Is there any other ones that come close??
The next best boot for peg feel is the Tech 10 IMO. They have a relief cut in the sole that allows it to flex and helps with feel. Sidi was has a new boot coming in March with a new sole that Malcom Stewart has been running. I haven't heard any feedback, but we'll see how it is. - Chase
Sweet thanks Chase!
Can run up the stairs?
You could but there are better footwear options for running stairs.
Ankle is lot looser vs sg12s and boot has lot more flex now aswell. If had tighter ankle and good bit stiffer be a nice upgrade to the sg12. New buckles are worse aswell. Have a notch on them they get stock on vs smooth buckle on the sg12.
All I want to know is if it fits your massive calves and how much heel lift there is.
Yes, it fits my calves! The opening is the same as the SG12 which had the largest calf opening of all the premium boots. As for feel, it's not the best in that category compared to an Instinct 2.0 or a Tech10. But I've got about 6 hours in mine now and I'm liking them more and more. - Chase
bro are they seriously advertising the buckle adjustment like a new thing? my sg10's from 2008 literally are adjustable like that at both top buckles
The SG12 does not have an adjustable buckle, so yes, it is a new thing or the SG22. They didn't say they're the first company to do it, but it is a new feature for this boot.
