Having zero experience with fiberglas I’m really enjoying your instructions. Thanks Stu!

So cool. In an earlier video, you mentioned the landing gear install as one of the most difficult parts of the build. Can you elaborate?

Sure. There is only 1 predrilled hole so it’s up to you to align the gear. The holes you need to drill go into a steel bracket. You can mess it up if it’s not lined up properly. I saw one install where the holes were too close to the bracket vertical flange and builder had no room to get the nuts on. Compare that to RV6 or 7 where the gear legs go into the engine mount with a single predrilled hole. RV8 takes good day to install (maybe more) - RV7 takes about 10 min

Awesome! Ask and ye shall receive - appreciate these videos, very helpful. What's the paper you set the fiberglass on - wax paper of some sort, or just plain old paper?

It’s paper that body shops use to mask off before paint. Nothing special really

Have you any informations about these nutplates you bond with epoxy. I only use nutplates to rivet.

Company is called click bond. Great product when access to the hole is difficult and you might not be able to rivet. Even in locations where you have access they are very fast. No drilling and countersinking required for rivets. Downsides are they are not cheap and you need the epoxy they supply. Other factors is you MUST prep the part and make sure it’s clean otherwise someday the bond will fail and you’ll be left with a screw and loose nutplate. Only option is to cut screw off if you have no access to nutplate. I order from TheFlightShop. One product I do really recommend is their studs. Bond a threaded stud that you can then attach Adel clamps to and hold wiring. Avoids drilling holes in fuselage
