Nice job explaining where the leaks usually develop.
Ever wonder how many rear main seals were replaced when it wasn't the problem?

Hey Andrew. New subscriber here. Greetings from DRMC. Forgot how much I missed you till I found your channel. Glad it looks like you’ve found your niche. Your more of a diesel dude than a steamer. And you never looked quite right wearing a white collar. I look foreword to following you.

Is this the same for the older 7.3 like a 1997 truck.

Some differences. The 94.5-97 powerstrokes have a mechanical fuel pump in the valley that can leak, but other than that, they are similar as far as leak points are concerned.

Can the HP oil reservoir leak forward to the front of the motor? I had some build up on the front right side under the HP res that would drip slightly after every trip.

Yea, if the seal on the hp res is bad, yes it can..so can the little inspection cover for the hpop drive gear bolt.

If the rod from the pedestal isn't hooked up would that cause an oil leak my truck is a 7.3 2000 and it's consuming oil like crazy but I have no oil on the floor

I have seen the pedestal leak regardless of the position of the rod. Take a look in the valley of the engine and see if its dry. Typicially when there is a leak in the valley, itll run down the bellhousing and start dripping pretty quickly. Do you get any smoke out the exhaust when your truck is running?

@@richardguajardo4314 ok, i was going to suugest that the turbo may be going bad. Heres a few things to check.
-Check exhaust for any oil. This can indicate a failed turbo.
-Check the coolant for presence of oil. This can indicate a failed oil cooler or leaking oil cooler o-rings.
-Pop the top off your fuel filter and see if there is oil in there. If so this will indicate failed injector orings and since its a diesel, itll happily burn that oil. Due to the fact that the high pressure oil system runs at a significantly higher pressure than the fuel system, when the o rings go, itll put oil in the fuel.
How much oil is it consuming.
