Thank you 😊 MY oil pan was leaking, bought a new oil pan and the Morso oil pan gasket. I lifted the cab up,rested the cab on wood blocks on the frame. I lifted the motor with a engine hoist slipped the oil pan and the gasket right in place. u don't half to pull out the motor and flip it that's the old way of doing things! It's been a year and everything is bone dry . 8 hour job.
your videos have given me the confidence to rebuild my turbo, oil cooler and up pipes. thank you so much for the clear precise videos. 96 F350 4x4 cc 583, 000 miles
Thanks for all of your great 7.3 content. Mine is a 2001 Excursion w/ a 7.3, 194K miles that recently was in the shop for a pretty bad oil leak(s). It was $$$ but it's leak free now. Although I don't do the work on this engine myself, I do my do-diligence by learning as much about the engine as I can so I know what the shops are recommending. Again, thanks and I'll be looking forward to more great stuff!
Thanks Clint I have a whole new respect for the 7.3 I’ve only had mine for about a year and now have done my share of repairs of the leaks but without your help I might not have got through it we all know the “ shakes phone mechanics “ on RUclips thanks for NOT being that guy lol just saying
Hi there Tony from Australia I do have a pretty good valley leak hard to track down right I think it's coming from the back of the hpop.thanks for the up loads they are so helpful .
Great video...as always☺.... I need help!!... Where do I order a plenum gasket set for a 97 stroke....part stores don't have it...the only place I found says shipping is 5 weeks...this is my work truck 🤦
i have a 1997 7.3 ,. when i start the motor it runs for about 2-3 second and then starts chugging for a couple of minutes and then smooths out some what and the check engine light coms on . i have replaced the IPR and this still happpens, any ideas what could be wrong??
clint could the pedestal or turbo leaks or any other mentioned here for that matter cause some leaks that go to the concrete I’m identifying like 5 and don’t want to use oil fill
Leaks from under the turbo, started after mechanic replaced a return fuel line on the passenger side.. initially a small drip, now it puddles AFTER the engine turns off. No drip while running, then dumps when the engine is turned off.
I was looking for a diesel leak in my valley. Didnt see anything from the bowl or other usual fittings. However, i did see some oil collecting around that square drive drain plug to the drivers side of hpop right behind the timing cover. I am open to suggestions and i have pictures. Just didnt know if i could tighten that plug or if its coming from somewhere else. Thank you.
The oil leak if it was me doing the work I'd be looking at the hpop gasket or timing cover seal The fuel leak take baby powder and lightly blow a dusting on lines and filter housing and or pump if its a early 7.3 at some point the dusting of the powder will get heavy enough to show where its wet and where its leaking from < it may only be leaking fuel when pressure is high
I have a 1996 ford f250 7.3 with 202,000 miles and it has an oil leak in the valley but I cannot find it. The oil pools around lift pump and then more towards the back when it looks more. When it idles i cannot see it leaking it seems to only leak while driving. Any idea on what that would be?
autozone has a uv dye with uv light and glasses both for ac and oil leak detection Clean the valley out completely install the dye let it cycle clean the valley again and first sign of leak use the light and glass's you will be able to identify the leak
@@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD I found my oil leak, didn’t get to the Uv dye but I cleaned up the valley, under hpop pump there was a lot of fuzz like material and seemed to absorb the oil and let it leak to the back cleaned all that up and found the snap ring of the back of the pump leaking. Is that hard to fix or do I need a new hpop pump
@@kevincontreras6472 not difficult unless it was previously remand Because they glue the cover on So if its original remove the pump riff raff has the oem gasket ring use a c clamp to press the cover down keeping the cover side straight up in a vice remove the snap ring and slowly tighten the clamp because the inside is under spring pressure remove cover install new gasket ring put all back together I believe riff raff has directions with pictures
best delete you can do also don't forget to do this to the wire you disconnect just cut the end off at plug and solder this to each lead ruclips.net/video/rg725mTLo6Y/видео.html
cool thing about diesel engines is they were originally designed to run on peanut oil. Nowadays you can make your own fuel, most people make biodiesel from used cooking oil. It's not that hard to do
ok here's what I think is a leak from the front cover gasket. I haven't done it yet, I wasn't sure if i need to replace the front cover itself or just the gasket. What do you think? ruclips.net/video/lihdHZUVSxM/видео.html
Well that was cool,, but You need a new timing cover. Soo oem timing cover , gasket set with ford or IH gray gasket sealer and enough to do the pan as well If your talented and mechanical inclined it can be done in frame But depending on what you have done for maintenance it could be a good time to pull the engine do up pipes all gaskets a good once over up to you
Thank you 😊

Any idea what would leak oil onto the starter? In my case, it's not the valve cover gasket (passenger side). Thanks.
Could be The dipstick tube Oring ...
1997 7.3 ICP and exhaust presure sensor and ipr all replaced??

Love the 7.3. Wish diesel wasn’t over$5 a gallon. Thank Biden.
It was not bidens fault maybe blame your self cause you could get your ass up and do something about
Still driving the 97 7.3 I wanna make a little power but it's so reliable I just keep her stock
