    1/2” flex head ratchet is all you need. No drilling

    • @The73Garage

      Couldn’t get the long handle under the firewall and didn’t have the leverage to use a small ratchet or a wrench.

      @@The73Garage flex head I meant. That’s what I used on mine

      Long handle flex head ratchet by Matco, snapon, gearwrench, even harbor freight has them now. Looks like a breaker bar with a ratcheting head. No firewall hole required. Sick bucket placement tho.

      @@too-stoked-about-2-strokes I'm going to give this a shot. I have a leaky oil rail end plug passenger side. Going on a cross country trip and want it buttoned up. Was finally succumbing to drilling into my fire wall but will try this first!

    I always like to fill the oil rails before trying to start it to help it build pressure faster and to take strain off the LPOP. Congrats on the new addition to the fam! A new 7.3 fan from birth!

    Brilliant idea to use the panel punch to make the hole. Clean and easy to plug!

    i like this method better than flex head ratchet method. seems like much less chance of something going wrong with the difficult angle. thanks

      @The73Garage  10 месяцев назад

      As do I, I tried multiple times with 1/2” drive flex head snap on ratchet and just couldn’t get the angle. Not worth getting hurt or breaking something.

    My 7.3 OBS leaks 3-5 quarts every couple of weeks, how can you tell if that’s the problem? It’s got 300k miles but runs fantastic other than oil leaks.

    • @The73Garage
      @The73Garage  2 месяца назад

      Best way to tell it to stick your phone in the back of the engine while it’s cold to see if it’s leaking down. It can mimic a rear main seal or a turbo o-ring leak. Tends to leak more when it’s warm too.

    How do you remove the oil pan on that year, is no videos on youtube for that particular year, and i am tryng to temove mine and can't take it off

    • @The73Garage
      @The73Garage  10 месяцев назад

      The only way to remove the oil pan unfortunately is by taking the engine out, there’s no way around it.

    A small piece of hardened key stock and and an open ended wrench could’ve got that butt plug out
