    Great video. This wax really does make black paint look extremely glossy. If you're looking for a longer lasting wax in the winter, Collinite 845 works wonders on top of SRP. 3 months on since with a single layer and its still beading like mad. I was surprised how well it complements SRP. This combo also works great on the wheels. The brake dust flies off of the alloys.

    Just tried this today on my Mazda 3 and was very impressed with how easy it was, and the result.
    I've noticed the car's paintwork now has a different feel to it though. Not super smooth and slick like other waxes I've used, but more like a very smooth satin feel.
    I ended up here to see if anyone else had the same result.

      I used the first time when it was launched (10 years ago?). I find it makes the car feel "soft", no other way to explain it. Super easy to use, quick and it saves time since it combines drying and waxing in one go. Sure, it's not the ultimate in gloss, but for the effort put in, it's a FANTASTIC product :-) Perfect for the regular washes inbetween the full-on detail wash and waxes.

    I just bought a brand new car and paid for autoglyms life time shine which they guarantee as long as i own the car it will remain glossy and always repell liquid or they will re apply or fix any pannel that has marks or stone chips and they gave me the life time shine kit (which is £120) and the rapid aqua wax is safe or every panel including glass and it makes the car look amazing showroom/brand new finish so this one must be superseded with a later version that is glass and mirror safe.

    Question: Would applying Autoglym EGP on top of this wax be pointless?

    • @SpeckyMcSporran

      Yes, I'd say EGP is more of a base layer of protection and Rapid Aqua Wax would a topper after every wash.

    Hi specky. Just subbed. I have found with aqua wax that if u use too soft a buffing cloth it will tend to grab the paint so that's why AG recommend those cloths. Also i use it for routine wash but I'm not sure on its longevity so a good paste wax every few months is a good idea. Keep up the great vids.

    • @SpeckyMcSporran
      @SpeckyMcSporran  4 года назад +1

      Thanks James, over only ever used it with the towels it came with so that's good to know. It's not a very long lasting wax but if you use it like a drying aid after every wash then you'll keep layering the wax.
      Glad you're enjoying the videos! 👊

    Hiya Specky, I've been using this for a while, but would love your thoughts on this. Watched your review on AG polar range (which was great by the way) and bought the set. The question would be in your view, when to use the aqua wax and when to use polar seal???? My van gets washed every week at the moment with 2 bucket method, ag bodywork shampoo and conditioner then aqua wax. But because of the size of the van, liked the idea of the polar range. The colour is gypsum which is a metallic purple/blue which shines up really well with aqua wax. Once again great video, keep up the good work.

    • @SpeckyMcSporran
      @SpeckyMcSporran  4 года назад

      This is the main question you should ask yourself - do you care about water spots?
      Rapid Aqua Wax is great at adding protection and helping to dry the van but obviously it's a bigger vehicle so it would be harder to dry and buff it.
      Polar Seal is great at adding protection very quickly and easily but you'd have to dry it if water spots are an issue. If not then I'd say Polar Seal is for you.

    • @paulquickmire2379
      @paulquickmire2379 4 года назад +1

      The van is always dried afterwards as it's got windows all round and the colour really shows up water spots. In theory should I use the polar range more in winter and continue with normal regime in summer??

    • @SpeckyMcSporran
      @SpeckyMcSporran  4 года назад +1

      If you dry the van every time then I'd say there's not much difference. The Aqua Wax is apply-dry-buff all at the same time and Polar Seal is apply-rinse-dry so the end result is the same but the application method is slightly different. Personal preference really.

    • @SpeckyMcSporran
      @SpeckyMcSporran  9 месяцев назад +2

      Rapid Aqua Wax should last a month though it may not have the strength of EGP as it applies thin and doesn't cure. It should have similar gloss and depth.

      @@SpeckyMcSporran Would You use Super Resin Polish on "healthy" paint or only swirls etc. or every time as SRP and EGP should boost together? Won't SRP dim EGP gloss?

    • @SpeckyMcSporran
      @SpeckyMcSporran  9 месяцев назад +1

      SRP is a very gentle polish, you can use it on healthy paint to gently cleanse it and enhance gloss before adding protection. Polish is what ultimately gives the best gloss rather than wax or sealant.

    Morning! I’m a “Weekend warrior” about to venture into the world of cleaning/ maintaining my own car (rather than pay someone to do it)
    I got the autoglym bag with my car when purchased it and this is one of the products I’m most looking forward to using. Just out of interest how many microfibre cloths do you think I would need to use if applying this to the whole car? I notice you said the autoglym one was pretty wet after just the bonnet. Is it good practice then to use more than one cloth for the applying/ buffing the whole car?

    • @SpeckyMcSporran
      @SpeckyMcSporran  3 года назад +1

      Great question! You could wring out the towel after each panel to maintain its absorbency but there's also nothing wrong with using multiple towels. They've included two and I've definitely managed to go around a whole car with the towels they've provided. Keep in mind that the first towel isn't meant to get the car completely dry, just enough to remove the majority of the water and to spread the wax.
      Hope that helps 🤞

    Specky I would like ti use SRP but what would be a good and inexpensive alternative to Extra gloss protection? I was thinking of Aqua wax or Sonax High Speed wax, but there are also some inexpensive hard waxes like Liqui Moly 1422 which seem to be very good. I think there would be no compatibility problems, right?

    • @SpeckyMcSporran
      @SpeckyMcSporran  2 года назад +1

      If you're worried about compatibility then stick to the same brand. Rapid Aqua Wax is good but doesn't last long. Rapid Ceramic Spray will last longer.

    • @IL-TRIMONE-PUGLIESE
      @IL-TRIMONE-PUGLIESE 2 года назад +1

      @@SpeckyMcSporran I know that rapid ceramic wax has a longer life but it is a little more complex to use on cars like mine that have bumpers and other unpainted plastic parts. In fact Autoglym says not to use it on unpainted parts. If the final result after SRP is similar between Aqua wax and rapid ceramic spray and the only difference is the shorter duration, perhaps in some cases it would be better to use Aqua wax after each wash, without buying the extra gloss protection I suppose.
      Or do you have experience using another combo with another brand after SRP?
