In my opinion i would prefer the beads to run off than to sit on the paint. the reason is simple, If there is just a shower and the sun comes out after the rain passes by, the water drops will act as a magnifying glass and can etch marks into the clear coat. The less drops and the chances damage will be less as well.
Very nice! My neighbors thought I was a mad man watching me detail my cars, now they are coming over asking for advice on how to restore their cars appearance LOL. Doing the cars is kinda of my ZEN time it relaxes me,, and I love the way the wife's car looks on her. Keep up the good works.
I use auto glym aqua rapid wax and it looks great after rain for a good two or three weeks and then it starts to leave faint water marks but I usually wash it once a fortnight as I'm obsessed.
@@Jackster I agree , the neighbours always comment on how shiny it is, just got myself some autoglym tyre dressing and fast glass which I can't wait to try out.
I use the autoglym, wash my car once a month and the more you use it the better it gets ,i always get people asking how i keep my car with showroom appearance.
Sometimes we can get wrapped up in finding the greatest, shiniest, most durable wax or sealant out there, but a lot of people forget that your car will look better than 99% of cars out there if you just do a wash and spray wax every couple of weeks! Glad the Autoglym is working out for you :-)
I use both. AG while I dry, then detailer spray to remove any water spots that got sun dried then finish off with quick wax. Only as weekly/bi-weekly wash and dry method, every month I apply a proper dedicated carnauba or synthetic wax.
You’re absolutely right unfortunately. I’m fairly new to making videos and I didn’t realise this would be an issue. In my later videos I use the auto volume function of iMovie, though, so hopefully they’ll be better from now on!
I think it's really fine for use on glass. Many companies advise against using wax on the windshield because it can cause wiper blade stuttering, but you can probably use it on your side-glass no problem. Overall, though, I'd recommend using Aquapel on all your exterior glass surfaces and then to avoid using any wax on top.
The instructions state that it should be applied to a dry car, but on the official Meguiar's Forums their head of worldwide training actually said it's OK to apply it to a wet car. If I'm using Ultimate Quik Wax I'll usually apply it to my car when it's wet just so that I can wax and dry at the same time.
I havent used the Meguiars one but I cant believe it took me too this year to buy the Aqua wax. I have not used my drying towels since I bought the Aqua wax as it take pretty much the same time and effort just to apply Aqua wax instead.
I use the Aqua Wax. Its very good and Autoglym give and 2 good quality microfiber towels. I would like to ask you about Meguiars Ultimate Compound. Is it easy to use by hand? I see you use it easy without any problem. What is the tip? To put little polish to the pad?
I find the Ultimate Compound fine to apply by hand. Lots of people say you need to use a machine to get meaningful results, but I’ve used it by hand to remove old wax, to remove sap stains, and to do some paint renovation without issue. It’s hard work, and you’d probably only want to Compound areas with identifiable problems (I.e. swirls, scratches) by hand rather than over the whole car, and then use Ultimate Polish or Super Resin Polish by hand over the whole car. Follow up with a Paste Wax.
I've never had any complaints about that, but I have had complaints from neighbours about trailing my hose all the way from the back garden through to the front of the building. I don't see why anyone would complain about the run-off - unless you have some problem with the drains in your area then it should surely all just wash away? Some people will just complain about anything.
So true! Most non car people thinks you're crazy for taking care of the car. But we who cares, know that it really pays off ;) Too funny video ;) Cheers.
WHOA...don't need to compound to remove old wax or sealants. Just use some ISO, as that will do just fine. Compound has micro-abrasives, and you're cutting away clearcoat.
Halfords almost always has either Meguiar's or Autoglym on a 20%-off offer, so I think that's a really good idea - there's really not a whole lot between them.
There are two followups, both in this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PL8zIiVhsRZRqoFrFthGBawoBQHvdxhjPW The result is that Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax shows better durability in real-world conditions.
Its ok, my neighbours think I'm insane too. Not a fan of these 'spray on waxes' I've used Sonax BSD and wasn't that impressed. I'll stick to my PB black hole and FK1000P combo.
The outcome is here: ruclips.net/video/oep4ibRIGlk/видео.html After a few weeks, the Ultimate Quik Wax had definitely maintained its water-repelling qualities better than the AutoGlym Rapid Aqua Wax.
The thing I find annoying about the Ultimate Quik Wax is you’re supposed to dry the car first then apply the wax then buff it to a shine. For a weekly wash it’s just too much work. The fact you can apply the Rapid Aqua Wax at the same time as you’re drying the car is a big plus!
That is the reason I have got into using the aqua wax and with the good old Scottish weather it usually rains straight after the car is washed anyway. I use the Meguiars Ultimate wheels I find its so much better that the Autoglym fast wheels. for the last few months I have been using Autosmart ultra moose thro my foam gun and I would recommend that over any of the other snow foams out there, it was £27 for 5 litres but you mix it 120 to 1 which is only a cap full per litre so I haven't made a dent in the bottle and that is washing 2 cars every week.
Meguiars is the way to go. Been using them for 6-7 years now and I'm not switching! That spray on wax tho... nothing I would use, go with Ultimate Compound and finish with Ultimate Liquid Wax, by hand or polisher.... the result is just awesome!!!
@Jose: Hi Jose, I don't use polisher, too afraid to damage the paint, I would need to practice a bit before using it on my own car, so I'm going in manual mode :)
mikealanzo yeah lol. I got it recently but It doesn't look like It's ever been detailed. And how do you do it "manually"? I'm also using the clay bar at the beginning because who knows how much tree sap and road grime Is embedded into the paint.
It ultimately depends on the product you use. I believe with some older products, compounding will remove deep scratches from the paint but actually introduce its own smaller scratches. You need to use a polish to get these out. However, newer products like M105 and Meguiar's Ultimate Compound claim not to need a follow-up polishing step if used correctly, and I have found that to be the case. For this experiment it wouldn't have been wise to follow up with a polish because polishes often have glazes in them which would have interfered with the bonding of these waxes and led to an unfair test. However, if I was compounding my own car as part of a regular detailing regimen then I would generally follow up with either Meguiar's Ultimate Polish or Autoglym's Super Resin Polish simply because I'd like to use the built-in glazes to help hide any scratches which the Ultimate Compound couldn't correct.
you forgot to use a IPA wipe down to get rid of any iols from the compound polish and also your supposed to use a micro polish after the compound polish as well, so remove any haze and possible swirl marks, just to be perfectly done like meguiars compound polish and then the ultimate polish and then IPa wipe down, then apply the wax / sealants, that's the proper way of doing a test and also in real world conditions ie: road film and rain hail shine dust dirt etc, so apply the wax's and then wash the car after a week on the road driving etc then check how good they are holding up ? cheers :) Also most people will use some sort of IRON Removaer after a while before the or during the wash process and clay the painted surfaces which i do not recommened, as the iron remover is strong and can remove any protection unless its a dedicated SIO2 ceramic sealant etc. :)
Mine too, I keep getting the ‘your gonna wash the paint off’ comments (as if it’s my first car and I haven’t been washing my cars once a week with no problems for years). Thing is they obviously don’t know that all modern cars are clear coated you’ve gotta be using some pretty abrasive techniques to get the paint off plus BMW actually recommend washing their cars once a week they say it will do no harm and is best paint care practice.
My neighbours think I'm barkers for washing mine up to 3 times a week in winter. Snow foam only. Two bucket wash in summer. Last car was black - never again. Current car is dark blue. As for the test - I've used both. I think the Auto Glym Rapid Aqua Wax has a better life and beading. The water is also still sheeting off (while driving) far longer than Meguiar's does. Meg's is good, but AutoGlym gets my vote in this one. Both a great finish though.
@@forza223bowe5 : My neighbour has same car as me in black, but he takes his to the £5 one bucket carwash every Friday. Mine has a good polished and waxed finish. His looks like a kid as taken a brillo or scouring pad to the paintwork, when the sun hits it. He laughs at me - I just shake my head.
Hey David - no update yet. I've hit a slight hitch - the Volvo isn't my car, it's my Dad's, and he's had it washed a few times since this video. I'm going to redo the test using my own car (the red MINI in the background at the beginning of the video - I didn't use it in this video because I'd just spent a weekend machine polishing it and using Meguiar's Ultimate Paste Wax on it and didn't want to undo my work!). Stop kidding yourself. With such spray detailers, theres hardly any difference. Even if you compare your Swissvax vs Zymol carnaubas, theres also hardly any significant differences. The ONLY thing that gives a jaw-dropping diff is: WET-SANDING + multiple rounds of machine compounding and polishing. Last step products contribute only 10% to the final looks.

Are you not supposed to polish after compounding?
It ultimately depends on the product you use. I believe with some older products, compounding will remove deep scratches from the paint but actually introduce its own smaller scratches. However, newer products like M105 and Meguiar's Ultimate Compound claim not to need a follow-up polishing step if used correctly, and I have found that to be the case.

Details certainly would be. Best place to get it is Euro Car Parts when they have their endless sales on
Is this the dude from fake driving school?
johngray1972 the porn one ? Lol I can't yes it's him
hello bye not ginger enough really.
thx for the video !! greets
Price and value for money is important to me, so I got autoglym 👍
I use aqua wax. Meguires has much better gloss
I see no visual difference between treated and not treated .

It's kind of hard to tell but I love your hair color lol

Feels like the video was mess up.Meguire on first then tape of then Meguire again that's like two against one lol using autoglym on Meguire that's like 75%-25% 🤣 just saying
Pa I picked up a couch from next door to you last week lol
Haha! I actually moved a year ago. Getting my hose out to the front here was a real pain. It's much better at my new place! Hope you're enjoying the couch 😎
Meguirs is good for a quick shine but autoglym lasts months
Sound issues
Sorry! I'll do better on my next video.
I only use Autoglym products and after 12 years of owning my car it still seems like brand new.
What other Autoglym products do you use on your car? :-)
@@Jackster All available ,retail, range of Autoglym products have been used on my car.
Good video mate! Sort out your audio and you'll be laughing! 👍🏻

this street remind me of Redditch xd
Haha, I'm a long way from Redditch
Excellent review and commentary, I sense some type of scientific background? Very thorough testing/results/discussion!

Stop kidding yourself.
With such spray detailers, theres hardly any difference.
Even if you compare your Swissvax vs Zymol carnaubas, theres also hardly any significant differences.
The ONLY thing that gives a jaw-dropping diff is:
WET-SANDING + multiple rounds of machine compounding and polishing.
Last step products contribute only 10% to the final looks.
Meguiars...just😉
Anybody else enjoyed the lovely bounce 😉👍
Fit neighbour, I bet you did🤣
Nice little test. Subbed :)
Thank you!
You related to Ed sheeren?
No :-(
Details - are sure ? You look just like him 👈🏻
Dude, you were like scared of the chick when she walked by? You wear a Star Trek t-shirt? First you clean your car, then wax it, then make it wet again lol. No wonder they think your crazy lol.... Anyway, Great video! Educational!

Isabella Renzi haha!
Ya, I saw him checking her out
😂😂😂😂😂
Quite interesting but please drop the irritating American habit of beginning with "Hi, what's up guys" It's not as if we can tell you if anything is up and I suspect you don't really care anyway.
Was thinking about adding a “Don’t forget to hit that subscribe button!” at the end as well, maybe I shouldn’t? ;-)
@@Jackster smash the subscribe button yall
I go to my local car wash people, they speak very good English and make my car shiny again, all good
