The *outside* of the phone being hotter is exactly what you would expect from the thermals/internals being better. The heat has to go somewhere - if it’s on the outside of the phone it’s not in the processor. The more efficient the heat transfer is *away* from the processor the hotter the outside will get (unless you start adding fans and vents)
I really hope they monitor the actual SOC instead of outside the phone since that's the most important and also battery temps, judging the phone from being hot is nonsense since heat needs to go somewhere.

The titanium isn't meant to resist heat, it's meant to absorb and spread it. The outside getting warm just means it's taking the heat out of the chip successfully. Sounds promising that it doesn't throttle like before, I'd be curious for more follow up on if the 16 and 16 Pro cooling capacities are different.
Vapor cooling would make the way you’re testing the temperature only worse, it’s actually a good thing the heat exits through the case instead of staying in more then it used to

Remember when people thought a phone that is $999 is ridiculous? Well what about if it's a phone, a mini TV, a computer, a radio, an iPod, a mini PS5 or if you remember a PSP, a calculator, and a notebook? Could go on. But in my opinion $999 for all this and it'll last years and years really doesn't seem so bad.
The games will no doubt get updates and further optimisations on iOS, so I would not take this early review as the end game, as the iPhone 15 Pros have improved with updates.
I think they did good on the iPhone 16 lineup that being said I don’t think it’s quite big enough improvement to upgrade my iPhone 13 and I could end up waiting till the iPhone 20 to upgrade my iPhone 13 just to make sure I get a big enough upgrade without waiting too long

You said the brightness didn't come down while gaming, I'm curious, were you playing at max brightness? I always start out gaming at max brightness on my 15 pro max, and the brightness is always lowered eventually.
I use 70 % via shortcut. Starting WZM with this brightness setting with the action button then. But it also dims after a while (iP15PM). Also great for crashes just push the button :)
For whatever reason the 14pro on Diablo immortal max settings is in the yellow with load. But the 16pro max settings is in the red? But it’s a better chipset so it makes no sense
Because RTX was added in Diablo with the release of the M4 Chipset, and probably the 15/16 Pro will be included to receive these graphic improvements, my A15 Bionic in maximum settings are with medium Overload because it does not have these improvements.

Who wants to waste ridiculously expensive tech on a pile of freemium based crap? Get a handheld pc gaming device & don’t waste your time upgrading your phone every year for an additional increase in specs that you don’t actually use for anything. The best you’ll ever get from mobile gaming is VERY small amount of extremely delayed ports of console games. You could play those same games on a handheld the day of their release if you just bought a Legion Go.
