In this episode, Guy and Gary speak to an artist who is neatly woven into the very fabric of music in the late 70’s, 80’s and beyond. A hugely successful solo artist in his own right but also the driving force in Slik, Rich Kids, Ultravox and Visage. He was also part of Thin Lizzy, wrote Do They Know It’s Christmas, co-organised Band Aid and Live Aid, and nearly ended up in the Sex Pistols! And Let’s not forget that Vienna is still the greatest song to never go to No.1!

I had the great pleasure to be Midge's bass player for his 1985 world tour. He is without doubt the nicest celeb I have ever worked with. He also turned me on to the gift that was Charles Rennie MacKintosh.

Damn, I've caught up now after binge listening my way from episode 1 to this point. Every one has been a delight and I'll be going back through for a second listen. Thank you!

...and finally, a mention of Mick Karn (RIP) whose sound was possibly not for everyone, yet undoubtedly, one of the finest bassists of that era...

Please answer this question. I`ve just watched your brilliant concert in Perth. Was the gong used the original one from Pompeii in 1972?

I'd probably enjoy this, but I refuse to listen to something that is punctuated with 18 ad breaks. Shame. Why did they have to ruin RUclips?

70s, 80s. No apostrophe. Djeez. I'm not even a native speaker, and I know this...
