- This is one of those soul-searching, I-can-relate-to-it type of songs. And Patty is a consummate performer who delivers it as it was meant to be delivered.

I used to play this tune in bands w/female lead singers, and every one of these girls made me cry. I still cry when I hear this.
I can’t add anything that hasn’t already been said about Patty. She is something special to me and the music!
Such a powerful voice and lyrics. I miss real Country Music like this.
Love Patty Loveless. As she said "Everyone can relate to it" (the song)! Been there is early years. She truly has a way with her delivery of a song. Thanks for the re-up, Don. More wisdom in your words.
Nothing but greatness out of this ladies mouth everytime. She never disappoints. I got to see her years ago. She stold the show
I love this song so much. It's so heartbreaking, but it happens everyday. Couples who just grown apart.
Patty is one of my top female performers, and I remember growing up with this song b4 I was married, now being married for 29 years & counting, it makes a big impression on me now how 2 people can grow apart if they don't do things together and let there secular life run themselves. Her delivery is captivating.
I confess - I was a card carrying Patty Loveless fan during the '90s. I find her voice unique, and as you said Don, she sure can deliver a sad song --- it hits a place in my gut that I can't explain. My two favourite Patty songs are Nothin' But The Wheel and Lonely Too Long. The former is sad, the latter isn't sad, but it's not an up-tempo one that she does so well too. You can react to any Patty song any time and I'll be delighted. Thanks again Don, glad you dusted this one off!
I never knew where to go for a card.
Nothin' But the Wheel. Yes!
@@mikebarnett9012 Yeah, that was way back before the internet. I think I got the address out of Country Weekly Magazine, and then it was all snail-mail after that. I do remember that the card came with lots of other stuff - an 8x10 colour glossy photograph, Patty's pic on a fridge magnet, and quarterly newsletters. Those were the days!
@@terrywoodyyc That is so hilarious, I thought you were being facetious so I was to. You truly are a "card carrying member" of her fan club. I love Patti so your coolness level just went up in my mind, but the comment and the way I took it just gave me a big old laugh!!! LOL
Through all these years, Patty is still my favorite "girl" singer, and "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive" my favorite song.
I adore Patty's voice!
Thanks for the re-upload Don. My favorite songs by the great Patty Loveless are How Can I Help You Say Goodbye, You Don’t Even Know Who I Am, You Can Feel Bad, Blame it on Your Heart, and Monday Morning Church (where she sings backup to Alan Jackson).
Thanks, Don! That’s the greatest song of the ‘90’s. The musicality is superb. The contrast of pianos and fortissimos is unmatched. As for the message of the song, Patty said it best, we can all relate to it. One thing I’ve learned as I’ve aged, unconditional love is not based on emotion. Love is a decision we make on a daily basis. Thanks for a great song.
ANYTHING by patty is Fine with me!
Love Patty’s singing. Such a distinctive voice.
Don, I to was/am a big Patti fan. Respect her so much for keeping artistic integrity while working in Nashville. This was a Gretchen Peters penned song. Gretchen is a fine singer in her own right. Anyway get ng to keep it short so good work bringing this one into the light.----UTCM
Vince Gill and Patty have some really great songs. The harmonies are priceless.
I always really liked this song. It is well written, and she is the perfect person to sing it.
I think a duet with a male singing the second verse and joining on the chorus would make a really interesting version of this song. Love Patty. She can do no wrong vocally.
Thanks for reacting to this. Love me some Patty.
I'm sorry but a blabbermouth like me just can't do a short reply and I just had to add that this song reminded me of a Kathy Mattea song I hadn't thought of in a while. The song is titled "Life As We Knew It" and I would love for you to add it to the list if possible Don. I know you have done a few songs by Kathy but you haven't reacted to this one or my other favorite "18 Wheels and a Dozen Rose". Thanks Don and a good evening to everyone.
Yeah Don, these are two great songs - I second them!
jesus mouse that was beautiful!
Love her…my favorite is .. I Miss Who I Was With You…
That steal guitar is so haunting
I love Patty Loveless!!! How could I not she's a cousin to my first crush the one and only Miss. Loretta Lynn. Patty was in a very abusive relationship but got out of it
Two verses and a kick in the balls
Have you done a review for Patty Loveless "I try to think about Elvis"? That's a fun song and I've been trying to show a friend that not all country music is sad 😂
Good one,I like it better on the Album version but it is awesome 👍
May I suggest a lighter side of Patty Loveless “Big Chance”
I love this song, but, in this video, the drummer is way too loud. I'm a drummer
