I love it too that the preacher gave the hooker his bible before he died, then she read it and gave it to a child she raised who in turn became a preacher. If I could describe country music with one word, it would be - relatable. Great reaction.
Thanks, really needed to know that as it was interrupted at the crucial moment. x
Gave it to her son not a child but yea her son grew up to be a preacher and told the story in his church about how his mama gave him that Bible and read it to him that's why he became a preacher
Randy Travis was once told that he would never make it in country music because he sounded too country.
We don’t have enough that do honestly
he could sing the phone book and i'd be enthralled. he has always been one of my favorite artists
I know!! That voice is just...mmmmmhmmmm
God bless you two and your family
Even with his stroke, I would happily pay full price to hear him just hum along to the music!!! Randy is so good.
Randy Travis brought back old style Country Music in the 80s. He had many hits.
His voice is the best at singing with a storyline. In his hayday, prestroke he could sing a phonevook and all country fans would listen to it.
My son was a premi baby 1lb 1once, due to his size he lived for 24 hours then he passed away, I wrote a song for him that I lock myself in a room all alone sing it too him as I cry like a baby,...sometimes life ain't fair but I guess God has his reasons
❤️🙏🌹
I am so saddend to read this. I don't think I could have survived if that would have happened to me. However, you're right, God definitely had his reasons and plan for him and you. We may never know them but if we truly believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus and repent of our sins, we will be in HIS grace in Heaven and see all our loved ones who have made it there before and after us. Lord in Heaven, please put your healing hands on this individual. They are in great need of your healing hands on their broken heart and soul. May you surround him with a love like no other and show him that you are the way to seeing his lovely little boy once again. Amen ❤
I love you, sorry to hear about the loss of your son; anything happening to my boys is the most terrifying thing I could dream of
Unfortunately back in 2013, Randy Travis suffered a stroke and hasn't recovered. He can no longer sing or play guitar, although there are instances where he sings a few words, one instance being Josh Turner's cover of Travis' "Forever and Ever Amen"
Good health is never guaranteed, so make the most of what you got while you can.
Kane Brown also sang this and did amazing with it.
@@charissakington606 I remember seeing when he sang it live at a radio station (I think) and Randy surprised him
Yeah its very sad, the man is a LEGEND!
@@sweeney60 and Randy has a great life before and after his stroke. Such a powerful voice and a powerful man to keep going on and sing his heart out even after. Him and his voice will be forever remembered. Bless the days we have on this earth. For they are short. But Randy Travis is still here. Thank God.
Randy Travis has has one of the best singing voices imo
I think that a part of Randy’s charm is that he knew he wasn’t perfect but there was always love and forgiveness if you trust and believe.
I can’t stop crying whenever I hear this song
The patient and kind space holding you give your wife while she shares that emotional association is so kind and beautiful. Thank you.
Randy was my favorite male vocalist prior to his stroke. I still love his voice!!! He was also fun in live concerts!!!!!!😊
And you're right, we are undeserving of mercy and love. That's where grace come in.
The NICU is a scary place, and to have a crash section... so much to deal with all at once. Blessings.
Randy Travis - in my mind - is the greatest singer in country music history, and he has so many great songs in his back catalogue.
True country artists are all great story tellers. Todays pop/country doesn’t have the same heart and soul. People like Randy Travis, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt , and many more are gifted story tellers
Randy Travis, He walked on Water, is such a personal song to me, reminds me of my grandfather, who was the most important person in my life, lost him when I was in high school
Such a good song. Great from the heart.. raw talent
Since you are getting more into country for the stories they tell, try : Rascal Flats - Skin & Brad Paisley - Whiskey Lullabye
Skin!!! One of my favorites!!
Whiskey lullaby for sure.
Brad's Whiskey Lullaby is fantastic
Brad Paisley with Allison Krause duet of Whiskey lullaby.
Whiskey Lullabye makes me tear up every time!!!
Beautiful song. Makes me weep. Every time!😢
Both of y'all's reactions... especially at the end is beautiful ❤
Randy to me is among the greatest country singers ever! No hype, no hey look at me! Just the man an his voice
I love the hearts of this couple sweet Holy Spirit bless them and their family ❤
Forever and ever amen. Randy Travis
This song makes me cry EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
This is the first time I have seen your videos! I absolutely love y'all! This song is fabulous and so is Randy Travis! I love the old country music and some of the new. Thank you so much for sharing!
I grew up on country music (but was blessed to have parents and grandparents with a WIDE range of musical interests), and I wish I had a dollar for every time someone said they don't like country music but eventually realize a lot of it is actually pretty good. I agree with you; the ability to convey a story is a hallmark of country (and folk) music. It will definitely tug at your heartstrings sometimes. It's best to take a dose of beer or whiskey with a beer chaser if you're going to listen to it for very long... LOL!
This is one of my favorite songs. Its meaning has always spoken volumes to me and will always bring a tear to the eye everytime I listen
Randy, and his band are some of the nicest people I have met. Him and his band used to come to our church in Missouri whenever they came through the area. Unfortunately some things happened, and he no longer comes around.
Randy Travis is my favorite Country singer of all time. He was the first Country artist who crossed over the Pop chart and dominating. A true legend with so many awesome songs. Sadly, he lost his vocal perminately due to stroke. :(
Love his deep range. It a tear jersey. Here his twang is felt on the heart strings
Love Randy Travis. He is, I would say, first and foremost a poet. Deeper than the Holler is the greatest love song ever!
What I love about country music, it always tells the tale.
Randy Travis is an absolute legend ♥
I had to watch this video 6 times when I 1st heard it I was crying so much, it touches the soul.
I’m so glad you finally heard this song! Yay! Glad you both enjoyed his voice, it’s one of the most one of a kind ones there is from this era. I’m not always a fan depending on the voice either but I love his. God bless you and your family!
I can't get through this song without tearing up. Always loved it regardless! Grew up on this sort of music.
Dude! What the heck!? Ali is STUNNING! You don’t deserve that! You really out ran your coverage there! WAY out over your skis! Just teasing, but she is crazy beautiful. All the best to you and your girls! Oh, and great reaction! This song has a great message. Cheers!
This music are stories that happen and we country music listeners can feel and love these songs, they are what we country people are about
God Bless
Randy has a ton of great songs. As a married couple, I bet you would love his song 'On the other hand' or 'Forever & ever, amen'.. It's awesome. And for the record, country singers don't really use sound effects. They can 'sang' or they can't & they sound the same live as they do on the album. The background music might sound a bit different, but the vocals are usually spot on. For a very inspiring & uplifting song, check out Carrie Underwood & Ludacris on 'Champion'. I guarantee you can not sit still through it. You would just want to run faster on your treadmill. In fact, it is the perfect song for when you exercise.
Randy Travis the one and only concert I went to and u r just meeting his voice
My cousin met Randy Travis a few months before he became famous. He was playing for tips in a restaurant where he was also working as a dishwasher.
I saw Randy in concert. Had such a great time!
One of the best country singers ever!
I enjoyed your reaction to this song. Randy changed country music and with George Strait made it so much more important to die hard country fans. I would like for you to give The Little Girl by John Michael Montgomery a listen. Some songs affect people more than others. This one also has a religious theme as well. But the message is universal and it crosses so many social boundries that it deserves to be heard. Thank you. God bless you both and your entire family.
I guess this is before he had a stroke. It still breaks my heart. I love his voice.
SUCH a beautiful song!!
This beautiful married couple is a true blessing here on RUclips! I wasn't surprised at all to hear them say that they are a Christian family! Please keep the vids coming! God bless!!
Randy Travis is such a amazing singer songwriter definitely check out his "forever and ever" & the wooden box
Randy Travis is one of my favorite singers. He is an awesome storyteller through his music. I first saw him on Hee-Haw. So so sad he is unable to perform as he once did.
Randy Travis is credited for saving country music back in the day. We hope another comes around to save us today.
The Pineapple Cowboy! I love Randy Travis!
The twangy is one of my favorite parts i grew up with my granddad and listening to Hank Williams Sr which reaches back to the 1930s 40s and 50s. The part you keep saying you love about country music is the story and the religious side to it. Countrys evolution stems back to the beginning of America and influenced by music from all over the world began as Gospel and Folk and as our country has evolved and became more and more diverse so to has country music but it has always stayed rooted in Gospel and telling a story passing on historical and current knowledge like a time capsule that can always be revisited through spoken word like our ancient ancestors did
Thanks for sharing Ali, God is good!🙏
I was born with spina bifida and it is a part of life that I have learned and had to relearn with over my 36 years of life, but life is a wonderful blessing and when something doesn’t work it makes you appreciate everything that does. 😊
I was going to say. I never so much liked country when I was young. But so so much rich storytelling.
So glad you listened ❤
His sister Nancy Travis plays Tim Allen's wife on "Last Man Standing".
What an absolute masterpiece. I live rhe way he ties it all in at the end. The three men died so that the hooker could raise a preacher to soread god's word tk even more people. So powerful
Randy the best.counyry.music.number 1
His voice is crisp and clear you don’t have to fight to hear what there saying
Ironically this was my daughters favorite song I lost her in 2010 at 10 to a drunk driver rest in peace my baby girl I play this song once a day in memory of you ❤
I wanna go back to when country was good like this
When she talked about the bishop and the thief, what came to mind is. There was this homeless man " Charlie" that I would see. I gave him, change, stopped at a burger place and got him hamburgers and that day he wasn't there and I don't eat fast food... but I gave it to someone else. Then I was talking to Charlie and I found out that he came across the bridge to the spot he stood and he had a cell phone ‼️ I was angry with him because I felt like he was lying and then I heard a still small voice of the Lord " YOU ARE NOT GIVING TO HIM BUT TO ME ‼️" Well that demolished the anger and I haven't seen Charlie since
Beautiful story in this song. Its gets alot of people
My mom and my dad and me went to the grand ole opry we met marty robbins my mom favorite country singer we also met we also met mel and pam tilles it was a ❤
ALAN JACKSON: HOLE IN THE WALL! THIS SONG WILL TEAR YOUR HEART...OUT. THE TWANG IS THE STEEL GUITAR..IT MAKES THE SONGS SO BEAUTIFUL!
Love this. Another song by a different singer, Lyle Lovett, sings Church. Its a cute take on church. Great reactions.
There are certain album's that I would call "Signature" Albums, the one that carries who they are as a performer and their voice and emotion more than other ones. Randy Travis's is "Storms Of Life" in my experience. I highly recommend it...
It’s that moment when “he gets it!, but she doesn’t” that makes this an awesome reaction
Fun fact...Randy Travis was the angry juror in the movie "The Rainmaker"
beautiful job guys.... well said ! ! !
Have you listened to The Nylons? A Canadian group from the 80's. This Island Earth is beautiful and Combat Zone are two of my favorites.
You should definitely listen to some of his performances from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s
Old school country!!! Love it :)
Stick with it, dude, because this is ultimately a song of redemption. You will see what I mean. To quote Adrian Monk, "You'll thank me later."
I been to the Grand Old Opry as well, It was so cool.
Still gives me chills
Makes me cry all the time.
Appreciate you sharing your story and these videos ❤
Randy one of the best country singers ever
I'm so glad you're playing some country music.
Randy suffered a debilitating stroke in 2013 and now suffers from Aphasia. Check out his super hit, "Forever and Ever, Amen."
He sang beautifully. I was boohooing too.
Giddy up go by red sovine is a heck of a heart breaker if anyone would like to give that one a shot. Red has a lot of songs that get to your soul.
Thanks for sharing all. Remember to Grow together & Not Apart!.. I'm a man of experience, Not Money. #LuvingAllYouDo #ThanksForTheMemories
Awesome react! Some others I would like to see are Battle of New Orleans, Blood upon the Risers, Johnny Cash "Hurt" and Teddy Bear.
He had a stroke too..still killed it
John Michael Montgomery- Letters From Home... lovely song
If you liked that, I would suggest Bed of Rose's by the Statler Brothers. Similar messages, and it's likely to, as you put it, "hit you in the feels" as well.
Only one of the best country music singers ever. His voice🤤🤤🤤
There was always one thing that got me about this song, there was five people on the bus what happened to the driver?
Also if you want some amazing country I suggest looking up Johnny Cash, and his grandson Thomas Gabriel, my recommendation is Ring of fire or Folsom prison blues.
Tears are flowing. Randy Travis wonderful story teller
Randy Travis is a fucking legend.
You must tap into some Alan Jackson! Omg! That voice and my favorite is “Remember When”!
Also if you love phenomenal stories you must do “The Little Girl” by John Michael Montgomery!
You should really listen to Don Williams AMANDA
And SOME BROKEN HEARTS NEVER MEND.
Don Williams has an incredible deep melodious voice.
That’s a mandolin. Great song. My self as I get older I appreciate country music more.
Travis Tritt and Lori white, 'helping to get over you. Also Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, 'Its your love' videos are the best for both ❤
I know it's supposed to be sad but I cracked up when I heard the words "12-string ukulele" HAAHAHAHAHA
It's called a mandolin brother. And it's 8 strings hahaha
He has a beautiful baritone voice
Look Heart No Hands.....trust me , it's amazing!!!
I’m glad you’re here. You’re wife is hot. Wishing you both years of joy together.
