@@markalumbaugh2756 I just hope that she finally realized that the preacher was the son of the hooker. Full circle. I just kept saying be quiet and listen. And the Dove Award, if I am not mistaken is for spiritual music.

Randy Travis, one of the greatest singers/storytellers of all time!! Have been a real fan of his for years, and years, I wish he could still sing, and perform, I loved seeing him at the 50th CMA's, he was just elected in to the country music hall of fame, he was also the concert I ever went to, when I was in the Military. Thank you Ms. Britt, for listening to this and appreciating his talent.
Randy was a great story teller with his songs. After the effects of a stroke left him unable to continue to wow audiences with his voice, It was during the end of country music, that his absence is felt the most. Just about all the great country music artists are crying in their graves at what crap is being put out today. Randy was one of the best.
We were listening to this song coming back from Florida. When he got to the chorus, we looked to the right side of our road and actually saw three wooden crosses. We got chills.

I had never heard a funeral/wake called a home-going service. I think that's beautiful. I love how active and dramatic your reactions are. Keep 'em coming!
It’s possible the driver was one of the four and I think it would make sense as the line. “one headed for vacation, one for higher education And two of them were searchin for lost souls” so it likely the preacher and the other person looking for lost souls would be going around Mexico so it makes sense that have a vehicle and the other 2 people got on the bus is it was heading where they were going
@kennethlarocque2605 Good point. The driver may have survived. I think it's just the way it's told that makes it sound like the only survivor was the hooker. Since the driver wasn't critical to the story, though, his survival may not have been necessary to mention. Thanks!

So many people at the time this song came out didn't get the ending and just assumed that the preacher lived. The ending of this song brings tears to my eyes even today.

What an awesome reaction. Some people never get it. Thank you. My sincere condolences to you on your sister's, death. But she left her own valuable legacy behind. May you be blessed.
The Dove is an award given by the Christian Music Industry. Sorry about your personal loss. I never have lost a loved one in a traffic accident but when I was 18, 35 years ago, 4 underclassmen were hit while traveling by a semi. The driver of the truck survived. Three of the kids, two boys and 1 girl, died. The other girl survived. It happened only 2 months before the end of school year. When we went back to school on Monday it was so eerie and quiet.😮😢.
Oh! I'm so happy you reacted to this song! For some reason, this song touches my soul. The fact that the preacher was still trying to bring someone everlasting peace, while his life was ending, hits hard. Everyone deserves to find peace. No matter who you are. I'm so sad to hear about your older sister. Sending you blessings, peace and good vibes.
Loved your reaction, and thank you for sharing about your sister. Another song along this line is a song by George Strait titled, “Baby Blue”. It’s believed to be about his daughter who died in a car accident.
Thank you for your reaction to this song and sharing your personal story. Randy Travis also recorded "Forever and Ever Amen" which in my humble opinion is the greatest country music song of all time. Would love to hear you react to it!
How precious you are in your story. Not everyone’s story is pretty, but all of the stories have meaning. Bless your heart and your family. I don’t think young people today understand the permanency of their choices whether good or bad. 😢
As the song says, it's what u leave behind u when u go. Ur sisters death was tragic, but the lesson her death taught others is priceless.....loved when it hit u what story the song was telling.
Some much to learn from this song and story Randy told. He is such a gifted performer. He's lost his singing ability due to a stroke but his songs are such a gift he has been able to leave for all of us. Thanks for sharing, it means much to learn what has impacted you so deeply. BTW your epiphany moment was perfect and I was waiting for it. Very nice!
Excellent reaction! We all had the same epiphany of getting the story. So sorry for your loss. My son lost his best friend in a car accident, and my daughter lost her boyfriend in a motorcycle accident. There are wooden crosses at those spots.
Britt, I would suggest holding off on reading lyrics until after you've listened to the song, that way you don't spoil yourself. Take in the singer's words and after the song, go back and read to see if you missed anything. The moment of reveal in this song is so powerful and it's meant to catch you off guard to have more impact.
I am so sorry for the loss of your sister. It’s so hard to convince young people that when they accept the keys to a car, they are accepting the keys to a deadly weapon. You delivered your sister’s story beautifully. Now, go have the day you deserve! ❣️
Reaction videos to this song are my favorite. I am so glad you were able to figure it out at the end. You would be surprised how many people never figure it out. The part that really needs to be emphasized though, the "lady" didn't just pass the blood stained bible down to her son, she read it to him every night, which led him to becoming a preacher. When the original preacher laid the bible in her hands as he lay dying, it changed her and moved her to change her life and thus, her legacy was born.
I normally hate sentimentality songs, but this is one of the very few of them that gets me every single time I hear it. It stirs up a lot of emotions every single time.
I'm so sorry about losing your sister. It's hard losing someone at any age, but that had to be a really hard age for you, but I think it's wonderful you were able to take something positive from that. Often we can't stop bad things from happening, but we can try to make the best of it.
Love this song! I’m so sorry about your sister. She absolutely left something behind and you may never know how many lives her story touched and saved ❤️🌹❤️
A great reaction. I'm so glad you caught the meaning of the song. It does have a twist at the end. I'm glad your sister had a positive impact on lives just like the characters in this song. To respond to one of your comments, the Grand Ole Opry is a syndicated radio show of live performances, broadcast out of Nashville Tennessee. From 1925 to today, so almost a hundred years of classic performances by country music stars. Randy Travis was a true country music superstar from the 80s. He had many hits until a stroke in 2013 limited his ability to speak or sing. Since then he has done very few public appearances. This is one of his later hits. To suggest a few others worth a reaction: "Diggin' Up Bones" "Deeper Than The Holler" "He Walked On Water" "Forever and Ever Amen" "Better Class of Losers" One of my favorite artists. I believe I have all of his albums.
Great reaction! I especially loved when you lit up realizing who and what the lyrics were about. Other reactors don't seem to get it until probably after they put up the video. That's why paying attention to the lyrics is often more important than the visuals in reactions. For those of us who have known these songs for decades, we first got to hear it on the radio, no visuals at all, so we absorbed the meaning from these songs after a couple plays, and later got to see the videos. Why people like watching reactions is partly to see someone who never heard a song we love or grew up with hear it for the first time, is seeing the look on their face when certain moments from that song are played. For us, it's like hearing it for the first time again, but living it through you. It's that light, like what you demonstrated in this reaction, that we all love to see and makes us relive our first moment when we heard the song. The Grand Ol' Opry is the home of country music. Radio station WSM used to broadcast across most of the South and Midwest the Grand Ol' Opry. I think it was every Saturday night, so people would huddle around their radios to listen in on all kinds of musical talent in country music. Today, it is kind of the Hall of Fame, and if you are a country music artist, getting to play at the GoO is considered a very high honor. You haven't "made it" until you play the Opry. It used to be at the Ryman Auditorium, which is considered the "Mother Church of Country Music". Now it is located elsewhere I think. If you see an GoO performance, and see the singer standing on a wooden circle in the middle of a stage, that circle of wood is from the original stage of the Grand Ol' Opry from the Ryman, and the circle represents the theme song of the GoO which is the gospel song "Will The Circle Be Unbroken". They still air live acts on the weekends, and they have a YT channel to stream it if I remember correctly. A LOT of history has come from the Opry, and a lot of greats played there. That's why it is considered hallowed ground. It'll be 100 years old in 2025. My aunt used to live with me for about a year, before she moved down to Nashville to work at the Opryland Hotel. I've been to the hotel a few times, and it is awesome! While my aunt worked there, she also gave side tours to the Ryman Auditorium as well as shuttle people from the hotel to the Grand Ol' Opry.
I just stubbled onto your page this morning and now I'm binge watching as much as I can while at work. I'm sure you have had many request for Craig Morgan "the father, my son, and the holy ghost" this is a much needed song to listen to! Please react to it!!!!
God PLEASE bless Randy and his health - heart breaking. Everyone should hear how "low" Randy could go😄 Love this upload and your beautiful sister story Britt, pls always remember to take her with you ....✌out from the home of Graceland
Welp- I thought I was in tears when you had your epiphany. And then you shared. How generous of you! I also think the song speaks to one should never allow yesterday to rob them of tomorrow. Thank you for sharing your story. It touched me immensely. And I agree with you, country music tells some of the best stories, whether they are sad or funny. Thanks again for a lovely reaction💖👍🎶

You're reaction was priceless. I love how the point just went past your head then, like a boomerang came back and hit you. Nothing to be ashamed of, btw... we've all been there.
I've been a trucker for a long time, thought I'd share with y'all... There was a time when crosses that marked where fatalities had happened on the roads disappeared. They were no longer permitted, not sure why? But in the last 15-20 yrs, they started showing up again. In Florida, you'll see round white signs that say DRIVE SAFE in large print, and the name(s) of the deceased in smaller print. Florida pays for these signs out of respect for the deceased's family. In other states, I've seen crosses, flower arrangements, photographs on crosses, teddy bears, solar lights, balloons, stones monuments and one Star of David in Louisiana. And it's kind of a thing for me that I have memorized the locations of every roadside memorial that I've ever seen, even some names... and pay my respects to every one that I pass by and say a little prayer. I run 500-600 miles nearly everyday since '94. This song hits home with me.
Perfect reaction...This song is very profound and beautiful...It was my mother's favorite song, and in recent years it resonates with me as well, I love this song...This song is meant to be heard.

Thank you for your reaction to this song and sharing your personal story. Randy Travis also recorded "Forever and Ever Amen" which in my humble opinion is the greatest country music song of all time. Would love to hear you react to it!
Don't forget "if I didn't have you"
How precious you are in your story. Not everyone’s story is pretty, but all of the stories have meaning. Bless your heart and your family. I don’t think young people today understand the permanency of their choices whether good or bad. 😢
Great reaction, Britt. I loved how your eyes flew wide open when you had your epiphany. What a great song.
Randy is great. It's a Matter of Time, I Told You So, Digging Up Bones, Forever and Ever Amen
Forever Country Then and Now
Girl, I was scared you weren't gonna get it, lol !! Chills when you had your epiphany ... excellent job !!! 👏
As the song says, it's what u leave behind u when u go. Ur sisters death was tragic, but the lesson her death taught others is priceless.....loved when it hit u what story the song was telling.
I cry every time I hear this song, but I love it so.
Very nice!
By popular demand, after two sold out captivating shows, Randy and Mary Travis are headed back to the Wood Theater for an encore of stories and songs.
Just to let you know, I thoroughly enjoy watching your reactions to country music! Keep on please because country music has so much to tell! Thank you
Excellent reaction! We all had the same epiphany of getting the story.
So sorry for your loss. My son lost his best friend in a car accident, and my daughter lost her boyfriend in a motorcycle accident. There are wooden crosses at those spots.
Randy Travis has a beautiful voice
Britt, I would suggest holding off on reading lyrics until after you've listened to the song, that way you don't spoil yourself. Take in the singer's words and after the song, go back and read to see if you missed anything. The moment of reveal in this song is so powerful and it's meant to catch you off guard to have more impact.
Yes, yes, yes!!!!
I respectfully disagree. She simply needs to make sure not to read ahead of the singer.
Love your reaction. Sorry to hear about your sister. Yes she is helping others to this day. It's what she left behind.
I am so sorry for the loss of your sister. It’s so hard to convince young people that when they accept the keys to a car, they are accepting the keys to a deadly weapon. You delivered your sister’s story beautifully.
Now, go have the day you deserve! ❣️
Thank you lovely lady!!!! You're the first factor to get it!!! 5 souls on the bus!!! What happened to the bus driver???? Lol!!!
To suggest a few others worth a reaction:
"Diggin' Up Bones"
"Deeper Than The Holler"
"He Walked On Water"
"Forever and Ever Amen"
"Better Class of Losers"
One of my favorite artists. I believe I have all of his albums.
So So So amazing to watch your reaction all the way through - your 'epiphany' and your story - thank you!
I am touched by the story you shared. Love your reactions, because you react from your heart.
I just stubbled onto your page this morning and now I'm binge watching as much as I can while at work. I'm sure you have had many request for Craig Morgan "the father, my son, and the holy ghost" this is a much needed song to listen to! Please react to it!!!!
Me last week haha!
The hooker took that blood stained Bible, read it to her son, & created a very different tomorrow for them both.
Check out Tenille Townes ‘Jersey On The Wall’❤️🌹
Stay safe & love much💖
Thank you for sharing your story. It touched me immensely. And I agree with you, country music tells some of the best stories, whether they are sad or funny. Thanks again for a lovely reaction💖👍🎶
I love your reactions and this one is my favorite. Thank You.
Great reaction and thank you for getting it! Yes, this song is amazing and I'm so glad you could appreciate it.
Crying w ja Love... the song.. it has always been a fav of mine... some bit for personal legacy in my life's twisted tree of roots ... but danke for the personal share Love and danke for the revisit to a song that isn't on my playlist but forever on my staylist. Peace and Love.
You're reaction was priceless. I love how the point just went past your head then, like a boomerang came back and hit you. Nothing to be ashamed of, btw... we've all been there.
Thank you so much for the testimony of your dear sister! You are definitely my newest favorite reactor..thank you for being real...
Watching your face light up like a lightbulb when you finally figured out the story was priceless! Thank you for sharing your story about your sister. Just you talking about her continues her legacy. Thank you for that. Blessings?
Oh! how I appreciate your sharing the heartfelt tale of your sister. I greave loss of my man, but we have the many memories of his generosity and funny side to keep me afloat. We all leave something...may I leave something of worth and not dirt to be hidden.
I just rewatched this reaction and am blessed again by the message. Your reaction and personal message of family connection to this song should be further projected for more to see. Your love of music and faith are a present to all
I've watched this video a couple of dozen times just to see the moment when the light came on and she got what the song was saying. I LOVE her expression.
This was my first time hearing your reaction video. I am truly impressed. You are so elegant and touched by the song. I will certainly keep watching. ❤🙏
Your reaction brought tears of joy at your revelation to the moral of the story. GOD bless sweetie from Alabama.
Finally got to watch this one...and yeah...your epiphany was a beautiful thing to see from such a beautiful lady.
Ok this was a great reaction. I love watching the younger generation get these songs. It's so heart warming. And to hear your own story was amazing thank you for sharing and hugs to you dear.
It took me a second to get it when I reacted to the song, too. Great, powerful song. And thank you for sharing your story. That's the heart of this song: leaving behind a legacy.
