- I knew this James Taylor song, but hadn't heard Allison Krauss's rendition of it. I was floored. I hope it hits you like it did me.

She always brings tears to my eyes. And Jerry is the best dobro artist on the planet.
I’ve been saying this for years about Alison and her voice and talent. Her voice is just what achingly beautiful was made for. Perfect. That you God for Alison
When I watched this when it aired, I remember bursting into tears at the beauty of this.
Allison Krauss's voice is beyond this world
@The Empty Atom Right? Can you imagine how well her son must have slept when she'd sing a nighttime song to him? OTOH, the rest of the world would have sounded like noise.
@@RockN2Country I can't imagine, but after hearing her sing over the years I can't image a world without her - we are blessed to have people like her to listen too, heavenly
Alison and Jerry are simply amazing.
"My GOD, that's an ANGEL singing!"... Man you got that right. I can't understand why anyone would choose to miss Heaven, if this is just a taste of what the music will be like.
Not much on Country, but Alison is special. She DOES have the voice of an Angel. I LOVE HER MUSIC.
As soon as I see “Alison Krauss” I hit the button. My all time fave. Thanks and great reaction!!
My mother was from South Carolina- she died when I was 4. I can't watch this often, because it makes me cry and feel so deeply. A 10 is the only appropriate rating for this performance. Thank you for reacting. You clearly felt it, too.
Was fortunate to see AKUS a few times during these tour days. Absolutely life altering performances due to how gifted all of them are.
never heard her sing this..never heard of Jerry Douglass..but this is stunning..James Taylor must have been so proud that she was chosen to do it
Candice, Jerry is a band member ( Union Station ) !!
Jerry is THE legend of dobro players and a member of “her” band for many years now.
Jerry is the best dobro player in history.
Jerry is the Dobro god.
The reigning 🐐
You sure got the right rating for this performance --- so beautiful. You can play Allison any time Don, thanks for bringing this one back from the archives!
@Terry Wood You're welcome--it does my soul so much good to hear her again, too!
Thank you for covering this performance. I rewatch this a lot. The most beautiful voice and so moving. ❤
This is pure Alison and along with Jerry !!! What could be better ? Alison and Union Station are one of my very favorites for the very reasons you said.
Allison Krauss could sing the phone book and I'd probably like it. And she is just so damn cute.
I had the same reaction years ago when i first saw the performance.
Thank you sir!
@Helen Stewart you're welcome--glad you enjoyed it! Perfect score and all. 🙂
Don this must be what angels sound like!!!!!
My favourite song. What a version. Voice is incredible.
Such a great collab. Such a sweet voice Alison has, so soothing ......
No words....truly unbelievable the emotion that invokes....can't even be described.
This is where the cover is on par with the original better in some ways for musicality and one of my favorite performances by Alison; liquid platinum if that is a thing 🌹🌻🌸🌺✨💖Great reupload thanks🙏🏻👏👍🏽
This is one of my most favorite performances. It's perfect!
"If you can get her..." So true, but I'd wager that the statement goes ever further - "If you can get her, she'll probably bring Jerry Douglas." Mr. Douglas is thought by most people to be the best dobro player out there. He plays in Alison's band and the two of them can be seen on a ton of other folks material. They work well together, for sure. Take care...
Amen, brother !!!!!
I can't add a thing to that. A definite 10.
Pure beauty.
Loved this thanks
If you want to expand your horizons, check out Jerry Dougals, Tony Rice, Bela Fleck and Sam Bush when they all play together.
Wish there were more reaction videos for this song
Allison could sing the phonebook and I'd buy it
Love this
*Sobbing*
Sometimes you don't know how thirsty you are until someone gives you something pure to drink!
Highly recommend you check out her singing “These Dreams” with Heart. Holy cow! I didn’t know I needed that in my life until I heard it.
Don, Surely nailed this just right. It's from a MusiCares recognition of James Taylor - get the video just for this! Also, you have a snippet of music at the end of this video - what is it, please?
@jflivingston The snippet at the end is either from Dreamtime or RUclips audio library, and I wish I could tell you which one it's from but I got it so long ago that I don't have a record of it. If I find something I'll hit you back with where I got it or who it is, but it's music made specifically for content creators.
no wonder music sucks nowadays allison was gifted all the talent this world needs
Should I ever make it to Glory and the angels sound no better that she does, they can just send me back.
It is awesome not much of a fan of her but I will give her credit for her on this one it's great 👍
Don , did you know Allison sis an album with Robert Plant? If I heard right they're going on tour
@mike williams I did know that. In fact, the first time I ever saw Alison was ten years ago (or more) when she was doing a televised show with Plant. I didn’t know who she was back then, but I sure know now.
Great interpretation of a beautiful song... pity about the interruptions... no commentary needed please
@Thomas McArdle You do realize it’s a reaction channel, yes? Otherwise it would be a listening channel, and there’s little point to that.
