All of their videos shot since the beginning of 2020 have been recorded live. The last outside video that they prerecorded was "Gentle on My Mind" back in 2019.
Wings of Pegasus did a reaction to the Petersens ("You have NO IDEA how rare this is! A FULLY live performance in 2020!") and in that reaction, he talks about how the Petersens record live for all their videos.
It takes a lot of practice, a long time collaboration like theirs is hard to find. They have an awesome natural talent that any band should envy if not in substance then in form. Bravo Petersens!
You CAN hear background noise. You can hear the breeze blowing through the mic as Katie is singing the first lines of the second verse. The sound of the wind corresponds exactly with her hair blowing. It's live.
Katie Petersen is such an amazing talent. the others are very good too, but she is exceptional. The way she has integrated the Violin & the Viola is so clever and she plays both with amazing sensitivity and touch. Emmett's family was talented too and his sister Audra's version of Wayfaring Stranger is brilliant. It was also very sad to hear of the decease of his mother before her time. I'm pleased to see he has really added something special to this other group young musician siblings.
I first came across this band by accident on youtube during the pandemic and have been hooked ever since. Their talent is incredible, they all sing like angels, the harmonies are a joy to listen to and the three sisters are so pretty and effervescent. Three of the band Katie (fiddle) Emmet (dobro) and Julianne (Ukulele) have also composed several original songs. 'May Baby' by Julianne is a wonderful song. When you think of the dross that is over promoted by mainstream media it is an absolute joy to find real talent like the Petersens. 👍
Well you ought to see them live!!! First time I saw them, having never heard of them before, they instantly became one of my favorites. Love watching them perform!!!
I came to these guys in March 2020, right at the start of lockdown here in the UK... They very much have a global appeal... fans all over the world when you look at the comments..ive been hooked ever since...Instead of having to fly to Branson to watch them perform, Ive just bagged myself a ticket to a London gig this coming September (2023).. a big fan here..Very much looking forward to this show... 🇬🇧

Yes much musical talent the whole family, for me especially Ellen as a singer and Katie on the violin.
As a violinist I would love to hear your reaction to their rendition of “Come ye Sinners”. Katie’s musicianship in that song is incredible.
Just saw them in Branson last week. Wish they’d done that one!

Randy's name is on the truck. Pork anything, eh, Jon, butter for audiologist from Gemini.
James Taylor featured this clip in the intro to his tour.

"It is recorded out side", the question has been ask and answered several times!

Definitely “live”. It’s what they do. There’s a couple of other Tubers that have pretty much proved it definitively. Enjoyed your comments.
I have 3 of their songs that I will loop and play until someone interrupts me. Wade in the water, All Glory be to Christ and Daddy's got a gun.
Wade in the Water is one of my favorites too!
Please check out their version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. I think you would enjoy the fiddle solo. BTW I enjoy your analysis.
Katie plays the fiddle not a violin. I know they are the same instrument, but the style is way different.
Two notes at a time, and she has an extra string.
She plays a Sigman five string violin.
