I understand the husband wanting company/interaction while he drives, but honestly, he needs to have prepared himself for it or don't plan a trip with so much driving during the night if you're going to be tired/drift off. Let her sleep for a few hours, then she would be ready to keep you company, but you can't expect her to stay up to after she did her driving and taking care of the toddler. When my dad was driving all of us got our sleep, he sleep when my mother drove when she could, but she did everything else. My dad made it his duty to do 75-100% of the driving, so that's what guides me to this day. He slept well before our trips.

Seems like common sense, but apparently that was lacking in this case.
I drove from Las Vegas to upstate NY years ago with a friend, it took about 3 days. Coming back I was by myself & did it in half the time, only stopping to sleep for a couple hours. That return trip was not fun at all. Plan the trip whereas you are doing no more than 12 hours driving/day. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night in the car knowing my spouse was driving & feeling a bit tire. Those are the kind of trips where you don't wake up.
Speaking of status matches, I just participated in one for Frontier. Just in time before my Southwest Companion status expires from credit card bonuses. Matched to Frontier's 100k level. Bags, seat selection, etc. I actually get to fly Frontier for those actual low fares!

Exactly, do the bus or train if you want to see the scenery etc, but if you're going to drive be prepared.

Great video! I personally enjoy going to Busch Gardens Tampa and even purchased a fun card so I could go a few times throughout the year. On the driving story the husband and wife could have communicated about wanting company and come up with a plan .
Wonder why they don't drive during the day and stop at night..... Agree with the wife. If they're taking shifts then he should suck it up and find a way to stay awake. I mean - she's doing her part. He should do his. Thanks for the info + video!
Hmmm I would not mind if someone woke me up to keep them awake, it is better than falling asleep and not waking up again. But for the future, I would make sure any trip does not require shift driving.

It doesnt make sense thats she suppose drive her shift THEN stay up for his to keep him awake....when does he expect her to sleep at that point? Thats just silly on his part😂
Maybe the husband should have played music and obnoxiously sang along, but if she drove the first shift he should not have woken her

I took my GF to the beach, walked all day under the sun, swam and did a bombfire. Driving home, halfway there, i asked her to slap my face really hard and it worked. I'm on husband side but he gotta be ok getting woken up lol

That’s what 7am looks like on me. I’m generally a zombie until about 10-11. Had to get up early and record and edit this morning before we hit LA and universal studios Halloween horror nights. It’s a small sacrifice to make sure I get this out to everyone!
