🌿 I had a good experience with Enterprise, but I haven't tried any others to compare it to. I won't use Hertz if I can help it, because of that whole arresting customers (and sometimes at gunpoint) thing. But I still hope they renew the perk on the VX. I was able to status match President's Circle to Enterprise Platinum.
I’m good without the hertz perk. I wouldn’t rent from them anyways considering they’ve falsely arrested people for stealing vehicles even though they’ve had valid rental agreements.
Same here. The false arrests are the reason I avoid Hertz. I use National and take advantage of status from my Amex Business Platinum. So losing the Hertz perk isn’t a big deal for me.
In terms of nerfing on the Venture X, as long as they leave lounge access and free authorized users alone, I’ll be happy.

Not really even remotely concerned about the Venture X losing Hertz--especially as everyone knew this coming in. It's the potential nerfs after this that should really be making headlines (which I'm hoping will be none).
Many car rental companies offer status match to presidents circle- I've activated with at least two other renters. I'm curious about the possibility of sneaking an extra year of Premium car rental status if you renew those matches just before end of year? Thoughts anyone?
My go to is usually Hertz mainly 'cause they're the only ones that have Teslas. Once you get used to one pedal driving you don't really want to go back to gas.

I think that JetBlue Mint is the best domestic business class around. Could it be that their on time performance is affected by being so concentrated on NYC and BOS airports that are so congested? For car rental, I like National Emerald Isle.

🌿 I think for JetBlue it depends on if your in a JetBlue mint city. As you have a mint city out of SFO it’s ideal for direct flights to certain orhee foot prints. I agree the customer service and hard product are key factors. Delta just has such a large footprint and offering that business class customers are still generally accustom to them. I believe JetBlue will end up going on to compete with delta and move

One complaint I’ve seen a lot of people mention with the VX Hertz Gold relationship is that Hertz does not honor the Gold status, especially if it’s for your first trip renting with them. I was able to match status fine, but haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but as I researched I saw a lot of comments about that. Curious if that will apply to their decision to remove.
Also what gets me non of the hotels or flights I use are in capital one portal.
So I just use lower 3% instead of 5%

🌿 Are you sure about all World Elite MCs being eligible for President's Circle status? I can't find any data points that people were able to get President's Circle with the Freedom Flex in the US for example.
🌿I love National Executive Level Emerald Aisle for car rental. I can just jump in a car and go. Plus I have the Executive Level from my Venture X and can pair that with a generous discount from my employer (~50-60%off). This lets me to get an Executive level vehicle for about half the price of an Emerald Aisle rate.
Sad to see the hertz status go but I haven’t used the perk at all yet

🌿 didn’t know about the MC World Elite with Hertz status and the VX losing the Hertz + the CSR losing the Lyft and Instacart Pass are sad. These are the additional benefits I was most excited for these cards, hoping to decide which card I’m aiming to obtain this year
CSR didnt lose the Lyft or Instacart. You still get 2 year Lyft pink, 1 year DoorDash pass, 1 year Instacart. Plus you get $5 credit on DoorDash per month (can hold up to $15 max), and $15 Instacart credit every month. Effective annual fee of the CSR is $10 if you use both those benefits and that's not including the value of having the Lyft, DoorDash, and Instacart for free.
Say the Hertz status benefit goes away on the Venture X, and say I will get it instead through the Built card. Will I be able to regain the benefit on the same account, or will I need to create a new account with a different email/phone number to get the status again from a different CC?
I think Amex Platinum also stopped giving Hertz President’s Circle status. It is now Gold status.

I might reconsider my Capital One Venture X application then. Definitely thought about applying for it but it seems like the trend is removing and nerfing the perks and benefits. Started out with the 300 travel credit that can only be used in the portal and the removed priority pass restaurant access. Rental cars are not a big deal for me but it is starting to seems less and less competitive over time.
The rental perk was scheduled to be removed at the end of 2024 ahead of time (it was always in the fine print). All the publications are resurfacing it now as a reminder.

i have only rented once with my COVX at hertz and i have found the status being useless. it says garanteed upgrade, but they declined me even when i asked for a downgrade as i prefer a less powerful and more fuel effieient car...
I am not too worried about CO losing the Hertz perk as it wasn't really a big deal for me. Now, if they lose the 300-travel credit or the 10 grand bonus miles each year that's a different story. I love the card and still get a huge amount of value from it. Great video!
Tbh what is happening with Cap1 reminds me of what chase did with the CSR and are nurfing the card.

🍵☘️ It gives a feeling of uncertainty when Cap One is removing or devaluing aspects of the card every year. Car status isn’t a big deal but it seems like more devaluations will come. I doubt they touch the $300 travel credit but I could see them reducing the 10,000 anniversary miles to 5,000 or getting rid of it all together

How do you get President's Circle with a World Elite Mastercard, such as the C1 Savor?
president circle is not worthy. employees don't give a f about membership status. you will still wait for your car when they don't have enough cars to give you
I just skip the line and walk straight to the presidents circle. Once I pick the car and drive off I just need to give the gate attendant my ID and the card I booked with.

Yes, I did this with my wife and eventually we just ended up getting her a card as well. I referred her and she still got the sign on bonus and I got the referral bonus.
