  • This Slip Bobber focused video tells half of the story of the fishing adventure to Henry County, MO on 15 June 2024.
Part 2, to be published shortly, will show the effectiveness of a new (to me) lure called a Trout Slayer; essentially a micro finesse crawfish. Worked great!
This Part 1 uses a Thill slip bobber and inexpensive bobber stops, both from Amazon. With the help of a fish finder, the depth of the lure was easily adjusted for the depth of the water being fished. Generally speaking, an optimum depth was around 5" and the lure - a Bear Paws 3" Garden Worm in Funky color - was effective on steep banks and bluffs that dropped into 12-13 feet.
As the day progressed, more bass than bluegill seemed to strike but overall a goodly number of nice gills were caught and released as well. Only representative fish will appear in the video in the interest of time.
The Garden Worm was mounted on a Z-Man 1/30th oz micro finesse ShroomZ jig head.
A fish finder was used on my Cumberland float tube for this adventure. An inexpensive Humminbird 197c fish finder was mounted with a Fish Finder Mounts.com mounting system.

Rudie was consulted about Slip Bobbers and gave it a hearty Green Light.
Sparky was gently besmirked on several occasions but will survive. hahaha
    Enjoy the show!

Oh wow Don, you know how much I loved seeing that bobber bounce!!! Hahaha. So exciting and of course the Garden worms are sooo fantastic to use. Was that the PBJ color? So fun snagging those beautiful bluegill then down it went catching my Fav nuisance bass! Some nice ones loved that bobber too. Reminds me of our pond fishing as kids…wonderful memories and a great video.❤️
