      As much as I would love that, that means that the championship winning team would play 17 games. That’s more than most NFL teams. You can’t except a collegiate team to have that much of a workload. And you can’t shorten the regular season because that would punish the worse teams.
      Also, it makes the regular season COMPLETELY meaningless. A 3 loss SEC team would make it all the time for example.See what I mean? It’s Unrealistic

Give me georgia florida oregon UCF Penn state could keep going on the years they were ranked like #5 or #6. Would make the playoff so much more non repetitive. It would also screw up yall 3 top dogs recruiting classes. Remember the BCS system when teams were more balanced. Same team didnt dominate year in year out. That's because it made recruits spread out to all types of schools.. Now clemson gets 10,000 5 stars blows the ACC out of the water like always and is 2nd seed and 1st and makes the playoff once again. EXPAND THE PLAYOFF. I also hate preseason rankings. Every year 1 or 2 top 10 teams open the season flat and lose out the gate, but they stay in the hunt and can jump a team who goes undefeated all year till the end of the season, or like UCF, who go undefeated, but didn't have a chance at all. Here’s my take on how to possibly fix it all: first we need another conference realignment and add teams like maybe Boise, West Virginia, Coastal, Liberty Etc into the American to beef up the conference and make it the 6th power then you expand the playoff to 8-12 teams and have all 6 of the power conference champions get an automatic bid and still have room for other deserving or worthy teams. This still may not be the perfect method but I really think it can fix 90% of the issues that exist in the CFP today

      You can't do that many games in a football schedule. The 8 game playoff gives an additional game for the championship meeting. Football is one of the most physical sports other than professional fighting... you cannot have that many games for these kids. Also, Oklahoma, A&M, Florida, and Cinci do not belong in the championship game. Both A&M and Florida already lost to Alabama. Oklahoma is a two loss team before they even got to the playoffs, where all 4 that are in the playoffs would have 1 or 2 losses if they lose in the playoffs. Cincinnati couldn't beat Georgia when the game was theirs to win. If they get a hot streak in January, it would not justify any of these teams as the best in the nation.

It would also screw up yall 3 top dogs recruiting classes. Remember the BCS system when teams were more balanced. Same team didnt dominate year in year out. That's because it made recruits spread out to all types of schools.. • @parkercrossland410
      @parkercrossland410 3 года назад +3

      @Todd Lerfahndler The solution is to change how schedules are made. Teams should not be able to schedule their own games. Schedules should be as follows:
      1 conference rivalry game, played the same week every year
      5 other conference matchups, all played weeks 4-8
      3 non-conference games against a power 5 conference (conference rotates each year, teams are randomly selected)
      3 non-conference games against a group of 5 conference (conference rotates each year, teams are randomly selected)
      Conference Championship
      Playoffs: All 5 power 5 conference champions (seeds 1-5 based on end of season ranking), Highest ranked group of 5 champion (8), 2 at large bids (6-7), based on end of season ranking). It creates objective guarantees to earn spots, rather than relying on a group of corrupt fucks that decide the rankings based upon how much money it'll make them.
      This way chance determines your schedule, good teams can't constantly avoid playing mildly challenging non-conference schedules, and on a year to year basis everyone gets a fair shot at being a top 4 team. It also prevents the shit we've seen since the cfp started where Bama, Clemson, and OSU make it almost every year. They'll never do it tho, because it requires some conference realignment and fewer huge programs in the playoff = less money for the corrupt fuckers that control the farce that college football is.

    The problem with college football is the lack of parity. In the pros, teams are rewarded for losing in the form of draft picks and an opportunity to have the best players while in college, losing is rewarded with more losing, bad coaches, and no big recruits. College just simply isn’t built to have an equal level of play and power easily concentrates to the same few schools. The problem isn’t the playoff, it’s the fundamental way college football works.

Unless you're a top-level Power 5 program with deep pockets and a long-standing FB pedigree, forget about winning a national championship under the current FBS system. You might get into one of the 'major' bowl games, but it's more likely you'll end up in one of the 25 to 30 "who cares?" bowl games. This glut of 'bowl games' happened because every one else just HAD TO HAVE THEIR VERY OWN BOWL GAME, gosh-darn it. The value of bowl games has been diluted ever since.

    I went to a mid-major (East Carolina) and even during our best years, we all knew good and well we never had a shot at the National Championship, in part because we weren't part of major conferences. And while it's fun slaying titans and winning the conference championship, you know good and well there's a limit to what college football will let you do. I think Division I Football's long past due for creating a third tier for its mid-majors so we can have a proper playoff instead of begging for crumbs from the "Power 5 Table."
