While searching on the internet for a vegetarian stew because I don’t eat red meat. I saw a couple but I like yours better😊 I made it and it was so delicious. Thank you for sharing such a simple and heartwarming recipe. I definitely subscribed to your channel.
Thankyou for helping me learn how to use the different seasonings my cooking’s got so much better since I started binge watching your videos 🙏🏼 Jah bless
I cooked this last night and it came out DELICIOUS!!!! The only thing I changed is, I used millet instead of rice. I will be keeping this recipe!! Blessings 💕💕
I made this yesterday following your instructions exactly and it turned out great. Served it with pumpkin rice, sautéed pak choi, plantain and fresh salad. Will definitely be making this again. Thanks again for the recipe ❤
Amazing recipe.. I make red peas soup with fresh onion garlic scotch, scallions carrots, potatoes, sweet potato and spinners . I never put coconut milk 😱it looks so yummy and I am sure taste 😋
That looks mouth watering, as do all your recipes :) Do you use wholemeal flour to make the spinners? I like your idea of seasoning the chunks and gently frying them before putting in the stew. I'm yet to find some chunks that don't taste strong. Here in the UK, Clearspring brand is good. I've seen people use Lion Of Judah brand, but not seen them in the uk. Blessings from UK
Thanks! I used unbleached all purpose flour. You can buy the Lion of Judah brand online. Also after soaking rinse and squeeze out most of the liquid to get rid of that scent.
What type of gloves are you wearing? Also great job. I add chopped carrots peas, sometimes finely chopped cabbage and a small amount of bean sprouts when I make my version. Nice to see your version😁
Thanks! The coconut milk gives it a distinct flavor, richness and taste which the almond milk will not provide. If you can consume coconut oil I’ll suggest adding a tbsp or so unrefined coconut oil and let the stew cook down with additional water to replace the milk.
Thanks for these recipes. I am trying to add more plant base meals. I am wondering which brand of vege cubes you use? I cannot find any without MSG. Thanks in advance!
You’re welcome! True, the ones I use/ find have that and yeast extract which is somewhat the same thing. I used the maggi and Edward and Son brand. I used them interchangeable with other small Caribbean seasonings that don’t have msg.
I made this and can’t stop eating it, Best stew peas EVER!!!

Have you tried tree of life brand soya chunks in uk? They are bland tasting so real good base
Mmmm yummy 😋
What type of gloves are you wearing?

I used powder free nitrile gloves.
Can I make a dining reservation for a day...bfast, lunch n dinner? 😋
😄
This looks amazing! Can almond milk be subbed for the coconut milk? I found I cannot have coconut milks any longer. :-/
Thanks! The coconut milk gives it a distinct flavor, richness and taste which the almond milk will not provide. If you can consume coconut oil I’ll suggest adding a tbsp or so unrefined coconut oil and let the stew cook down with additional water to replace the milk.
Just put on my peas
