This was one of the most magical episodes I’ve ever seen. The stoke level for that permit is why I love fishing so much. You can tell when a guide is just going through the drudgery of another day on the water but Jeff seems like it’s his first time and its so special to see that aspect from a guide. That middleweight tarpon in clear water was amazing too. Almost looked like it was flying under the water it was so clear.

🌴 what a place , it’s one that a person needs to be a part of , to savor like fine wine , I I’ve spent over half my life in Florida and still only dream of being in such a place like that , it truly is a piece of gods work with nature , beautiful video nicely done 👍🏼

The way that permit changed direction on a dime on the first net attempt is such a great example of how they can surprise you with their power and smarts. What a fish. Love these classic Florida sport fishing shows from the 90s.. As a kid and teen I bonefished DWC in the Bahamas and was absolutely obsessed with south florida sportfishing. Just the best thing in the world...unmatched beauty everywhere and feeling being a part of nature. I would have given up everything I had to fish and explore everything from ft lauderedate to key west, but as a kid living in the UK that just wasnt an option. Still dream about catching that big permit some day..Cheers Andy and the Mill House team, tight lines.

Looks like a wonderful place to hang out and fish . That was a great Permit , my wife caught one like that on the same set up with a live crab . We had been chasing a pod for an hour and they would not take any fly we presented to them . Then we grabbed the spinning rod with a live crab 🦀 first cast , bang a monster. Thanks for sharing the adventures

Jeffrey was one of the best no doubt, he was Fly Rod & Reel's (magazine) angler of the year and the featured writer on the mastheads of a few of the fly mags of the day('90s) . His unforgettable book Marquesa rivals ANY Peter Mathiessen book!

Great to see Jeffery in action. Too bad he gave up guiding. I fished with him years ago and learned so much about saltwater fishing. A really superb film.

He seems like an incredible guide. I would get hyped fishing with him I think.

Could you provide your perspective on the changes in rod, reel and even hook (remember the Mustad 3407 we used) technology in the last 30 years and even since your book was published. I had a spool pop out on a bonefish in 1987.
