Always remember meeting Darren at fishing republic Sheffield when it first opened around 2007/2008. We had a club night there where everyone from our fishing club went down and Darren and Neil Machin was there. Darren talked to me all night, got me sat on a seat box and taught me how to sit holding a long pole and using a catapult at the same time. Totally changed how I fished that year and ended up winning my club season at only 13 years old against men. Darren told me to send him my results at the end of the year to let him know how I got on but ended up losing his phone number. Absolute legend!
It was so good to hear Howard Robson get a mention . I moved from Lancs to Boston Spa in 2000 having never really fished a river . i was lucky enough to meet Howard through another member of BSAC shortly after joining and he couldn't have been more helpful to myself or young anglers on the bank . I would have caught barbel eventually no doubt but his tips sped up the process no end . A session trotting for dace and chub with Howard behind you saying "didn't you want that one?" 10 times every run through was enough to drive a man mad but when he let you know you'd done something right it was praise from a man who had forgotten more about catching silver fish than i will ever know . great podcast thanks
I am not yet half way through this Podcast but can say it's one of the best I have watched on RUclips. Darren Cox in my opinion is not only a fabulous Angler and Businessman, but one of the nicest most humble guys I am proud to call a friend. Keep up the great work everyone involved.
These are absolutely brilliant always want to listen to the whole thing straight off but often can't but the one thing I have realized as an angler is the amazing amount of hard work and dedication that these top anglers put in and Darren is another superb example. So many people I would love to see in the hot seat keep up the good work this could go on for a long time.
Absolute Quality Darren! A True Honest Star From My Home Town Of Wetherby, You Taught Me The Ropes On The Dace Hole! I Hear Of Your Success Through Mr Sutton, Hope We Can All Have Day Again Soon! 💪🏼
Besides being a great angler and a Yorkshireman what a lovey man you seem to be Darren. Very unassuming very approachable and level headed. This was a very interesting Pod Cast. l enjoyed it Thank you.
Ok I said Scotthorne for episode 10 but stuff that Darren's was one of the best. What a nice man and a hugely successful angler..... Also mega props to the camera man at the end for not embarrassing Darren when he got chocked...... Can't wait for the next one guys brilliant work
Thanks for another great pod cast, just 1 point of interest wikipedia says Ian Heaps won his World Championship in 1975 in Bydgoszcz in Poland? not Portugal.
Twin oaks rocks, i had one at the maver fest last year next to John Harvey. 3 or 4 i have had, so have many...... It's those swimming pixies taking the P155. That mould...rated 18 venture. Ian Heaps, character, when a pie isnt a pie 🤔😁
What is the maximum casting distance for waggler fishing?Pls advice from your own long distance angling experience. P. S. I am gonna feeding with spomb, cobra or other carp fishing tackles)). For fish bite- binocular fishing glasses. 20 gramms cralusso rocket float and 17 ft rod with 10-35 grams test.
Just an opinion from a layman. Garbolino isn’t the most fashionable of brands but they produce no nonsense, does what it sez on the packet affordable kit!😎💪
If you ever come on holiday to Thailand Daz let us know as I know the right people who will sort out your angling. Don’t bother with Gilliam’s as it’s a rip off.
how can people dislike this video, i dont understand i loved it listening to his past and present
