I just got a 4000 size legalis and it holds almost 260 metres of 30 pound suffix braid. So it has pretty good spool capacity and I'm defo looking forward to using it
I had just got one high quality reel smooth casting and reeling and pretty lightweight (which can help with casting) but anyways i would totally recommend buying if on a budget and for performance fishing👍🏼👍🏼
I've got 4 of them and use them in Freshwater only. Dropshot, shad raps, etc. Not sure I would use it in saltwater. That's where the BG line comes into play for me. Damn nice reel for the money and at least for now, a good smooth drag.
It does not. The lowest MSRP Spinning Reel by Daiwa that has MagSeal Technology is the Fuego LT. But those have been incredibly hard to come by with Inventory Shortages everywhere. While MagSeal is a nice feature to have, it's definitely not necessary for Inshore Saltwater Anglers.
Stripped the gears out of my Fuego Lt within a week. That left a bad taste in my mouth for the more budget LT reels. Love my Tatula LT’s tho. Just too much flex in those cheaper models for me.
How would you compare the stiffness/rigidity of the frame with this new Zaion V vs. the older plain carbon frame LT models? I assume it isn't as stiff as the regular Zaion used in the Tatula, but is the Zaion V in the newer Legalis significantly stiffer than the regular carbon frame LT reels?

I fish off the beach regularly with my Pursuit 4 3000 and it's been a tremendous reel for the money. Landed a 100lb tarpon off the beach with mine and it handled it no problem. (I also own Shimano and Daiwa btw)

lighter, more drag (if that is important) and even when this is not full metal, like the BG, some components are beefyer like the main shaft. its thicker in the lt models of the same size. the only thing i like better in the regula bg is that it offers more sizes and that it has a screw in handle. putting that aside, the legalis lt IMO is a better reel. (and for less money too)
i recently got one...and so far I'm impressed! Difference now I upgraded to the 2500 Fuego Carbontex Drag Washers, and much better in drag performance.
this guy got me exited about this reel (and i still am) but lost me with his inaccuracies. digigear, most digigears are cast zinc gears, not machine "cut" as he said, certainly not on any reel under the tatula lt. also, complaining about felt drag washers? really? carbon fiber washers are more recent than braided fishing line more fishing records have been broken on felt drag washers than with carbon , even shimano used felt drag washers with models as recent and as great as the stradic fk that is (was) a 200 bucks reel. this a 70 dollar reel. also.. the 6k size for lt reels is the same as a 4k regular size daiwa (like the regular bg) so its not a small reel, its the same size as any 6k size modern shimano. maybe even the size of a 5k size penn. i think they are downplaying this reel not to mess with the sales of the more expensive daiwa fuegos IMHO
A penn pursuit has what you want so would you consider that a superior reel to the legalis because of a handle . To a degree I understand when people say that a handle going directly to the main gear is better but as far as the other getting sloppy that all depends on the material used and tolerances. By this way of thinking the legalis is just as good as a $15 zebco spinning reel from Walmart because the handles are made the same .
of course they dont use carbon fiber washers in a reel designed for light to medium tackle.. felt works even smoother in light drag. Even the certate LT doesnt use carbon
Why don’t we ever see a Shimano reel vid, they have great products for reels! Idk I think you might be gettin a kick back from Diawa an Penn, Shimano is all I own and I’m just satisfied with the reels but I’d also like to see a product review from the Salt Strong team... Thanks..🤙🏼🤙🏼..
Yeah if you see their stock...they don't sell Shimanos. They've said they don't give them great wholesale due to the high demand and to also help with the insider discounts...so they rather push what they sell. But yeah Shimano is still amazing...especially the FLs.
@@frankiev-tech4630 I hear ya, an I can definitely agree with you on helping out the insider club members, an I also agree with you on the fl being an amazin reel, an your right all I do see is Diawa in I think almost all there stock rooms and Penn, I was just wondering what there thoughts were on the Shimano of any class in general cause I know Tony uses the fl, but it is what it is, thanks for your comment I appreciate it..🤙🏼🤙🏼..
@@KCsniper79 You got it my man! but if I recall Tony and the crew had a podcast about reels not to long ago. Tony's complaint with the Stradic FL was the Drag sticking after awhile of use which hasn't happened to me on my 3000 and 4000 as of yet... and they talked about the Battle III's and stuff.

Just bought this for my son's 12th birthday. Hope he likes it!
found an exceler 2500 and fell in love with it
My Daiwa legalis 2500 lt took a 10sec dunked in saltwater and now the anti reverse went out but I still love these reel just for the the money
Did it still reel regular
Awesome review! I think the new Legalis is probably the best freshwater reel at $69. I had to do a review on this baby too, loving it!
Will this be a good reel for salmon fishing from shore using flying c? I’m looking at the 4000 D-C
Love mine
Just picked up a 2500 and the 2000 and love them. I’m curious about the size difference between the 4000 and 6000. Just the spool size?

What about the seals? Does it have the mag seal tech?
Nope
No but my dealer said to rinse it off with fresh water after fishing and you're good.

agreed i bought the exceler and its essential the same as the fuego without the mag seal. reel got sloppy after a few uses and the flex is insane
Just bought one 4000 size for striper and hybrid ... im switching to circle handle knob
Nice! let us know how you like it!
Hi sir ,which one you choose between Daiwa Legalis LT Vs Shimano 23 Ultegra ?
Please kindly let me know if you have any answer, thank you.
Both are excellent - we tend to lean toward Daiwa!

I have one 2500 hardbody love it never had a problem with it !!!! Wish they still made it .
How long have you had the reel for
Daiwa freams 2018 vs the legalis? Who is better?
I have same reels , she is perfect 🎉

Looks like a good reel for the price, this might be the next one i try out. Im torn between this and the Okuma itx
okuma itx is so good

If the rod is the most part important component why are you presenting reel reviews and not rod reviews?
