It’s a dragster not a road car, it was built to kill it in the quarter mile not race at the lndy 500. 💥💥💥
Hey Bro. Check other Demon 170 reviews. The draft shaft is heavier to support the torque an HP. So it is not safe to drive the car over 150. Just not the tires.
It's not just the tires man. The drivetrain would have to undergo major modifications (this is according to Dodge) to be able to sustain speeds in excess of 149mph for prolonged periods. Just taking the limiter off and changing the tires without doing extensive drivetrain modifications could result in death. The Demon-170 was flat out designed for the 1/4 mile track only.
Honestly, I wouldn't give too craps about it not going faster than 149 out of the factory. I love the way the car looks and sounds.
Im sure somebody has probably already tuned that out of their demon 170.
Man this car will be added easily to go down as one of the most iconic cars ever built. It's a lightening rod for soo many things.
I have to disagree with you!! I believe us Demon 170 owners have a legitimate gripe with Dodge for lying about its top speed. I know some guys who sold their 2018 OG Demons to get the 170 to run in the Texas mile. The 2018 OG Demon is the fastest Mopar ever produced at a top speed of 211mph with the stock crate ecm installed. So I understand why they are upset because they will have to void their warranty with a tune and change out the driveshaft to go over 200mph+. I’m blessed because I have a VIN matched pair of OG Demon and D170 so I have the fastest Mopar(OG) and the quickest Mopar(170). So far me I’m happy but I hate that Dodge has been so scummy by deleting the 215mph claim from their website but we have screenshots. They decided go out in a bad way with this last call campaign. SMH
Hey have you seen dodge brought back the power dollars today but it’s just for the r/t and down
People are crazy nowadays... Who is driving that fast anyways unless you're tracking that car...
I have both Demons. You would be crazy to try and drive these at 200 or higher. The suspension is way too soft and it would be hella scary at that speed.
Most people got caught up in the 1025 hp. The 2018 demon was 165. I have my 2018 and love it. The 170 didn't impress me. But its a nice dodge
People mad aboit going a speed thay Illegal on public highways is Crazy. TRX only go 120 nonone complain about them. It's Drag Car not a street car 😂😂😂😂😂
Dodge said even with govener off the 170 and 200mph tires the car will not do 200 because the parts such as driveshaft will not handle it.
Did you know about the driveshaft? It would shatter if you want to modify to exceed 149mph. It’s not just the tires and dodge advised not to modify the sht out of it.
That’s what they get
Dodge did highly suggest not to remove the limiter ,, probably for a reason people forget they blew up several engines before they got it right and putting a limiter on it probably is one of the failsafe to keep the engine from detonating it’s not ment to handle that cylinder pressure for extensive periods of time ,,, same concepts of dragsters they go full bore for short periods of time ,,, if you watch top fuel they hit 300 mph in 4.5 seconds but can the engine have potential to go 400mph sure but not designed to because of that reason of risking detonation ,,
Some of these idiots don’t know the difference between a drag car or a street car, the car a governor because of the tires. Idk about driving 199mph with those skinny ass tires in the front….
Just roll it with a few burnouts here and there…keep it!
Snorpar 170 😂😂😂
That original Demon top speed was on 169. Y’all have to flash the ECU
