with the wine, id like to mention that the year, 1542, would be when the grapes for the wine were harvested, or its vintage, and wines tend to be aged at least for a year or two before sale, however with higher end wines, those tend to be aged 10-15 years. Kiya mentions that she was never one for grandeur the way her parents were, so with her parents being the most likely purchaser and them being dead for almost 3 years at this point, the wine is most likely between 13-18 years old meaning a probable year for the series to take place would be some time between 1555-1560.
A nice mention of Tom, who is Franky's teacher! It's funny about the terrible Jolly Roger because Luffy's actor Inaki Godoy is actually good at drawing. In fact, he drew a picture of Luffy and gave it to Oda-sensei! That cover of the manga was recreated by the cast in a promo photo. Now that you mention Buggy's bandana, hehe I get it! And I just watched the series for the 3rd time.
Huge Respect, i cant figure out, how you get all of these so fast and so specific, especially the Little Mermaid thing made me laugh so much, as how much work you put in here😂, thanks a lot, always fun to watch. Cant wait for episode 4❤
I think they're saving time for fleshing out more of Usopp's character in the Water 7 saga (if adapted in the live-action). When you think about it, in the anime and manga, that's where Usopp's resolve as a pirate is tested, of course along with the other Straw Hats. But when the Going Merry was no longer in use, that's when Usopp steps up to the others and Luffy (mostly) for it was the last straw. Sick of being a punching bag and a clown viewed by the crew and the other pirates; deadweight despite having comeback moments throughout the story. But THIS was the real moment for him to actually shine on how much he grown, it's foreshadowing in the 2-year timeskip.
I was trying to find references to Onion, Carrot, and Pepper. I couldn't find any but those penguin statues? I geeked so hard when I saw them. I had also just finished rereading Syrup Village so it was fresh in my mind when I saw them. Great breakdown as always!
Another great breakdown. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into these. I am pleasantly surprised by how good this series has been so far. I certainly did not have high hopes upon hearing of a live action One Piece adaptation. Anyway, something that has been bothering me is how characters, especially Luffy, say "Grand Line." They accent the "grand" in "Grand Line" to make it sound like, "GRAND line" instead of just "grand line" with both words given equal stress.
Thank you for doing this and not giving away any future events or spoilers. I am a first time watcher of anything One Piece and you do a great job giving information for first time fans. I've also been waiting to watch the episodes until your video has been released. I finished episode four after watching your E3 breakdown and am now waiting for your E4 breakdown before I watch 5. No pressure to get them done or anything ha ha.
1:00 Slight correction. Disney first used the phrase “Dead men tell no tales” in the Dead Man's Cove section of the original PotC attraction when it opened in 1967, which is how the phrase became more associated with piracy in pop culture.
On the poster board there is a flyer about carpenter this might be a reference to one of the Usopp Pirates that being Pepper who dreams of becoming one while Carrot wanted to be a tavern owner & Onion wanted to be a writer
Aww that's cute. The Usopp pirates do show how good Usopp is with kids, but knowing the troubles this production has with kids, I understand why they were cut.
7:35 - I always thought the chimney cleaners were a little nod to Tontattas because the text read: "When last did you clean your chimney? Quick, efficient little people are ready to rid your house of smoke." :D
As to the wine. Its possible its an older bottle as most wines are left to set and have the date they are bottled on them. The longer the wine will have set the more "higher tier" the wine will be considered. Given this is a rich mansion i would assume this isnt the year the series is taking place in but who knows.
Personally, I think the part where Usopp yelling in the village about pirates misses one crucial detail, the part where he ended his charades by saying that it was all a lie each time he did. Which I feel is an important characterization that shows Usopp is aware of his actions. Which give the scene when he really ask for help feel more impactful. I wonder who gets to take home with the penguin posts.
12:37 In the Japanese dub of the live action, Luffy states that it was his first day at sea. There’s some dialogue changes between the dub and the original. You should take a look.
As far as birthdays go, Oda doesn't seem to care or take them into account when writing. They are basically all fan suggestions, so unless you think the live action decided to embrace them, I don't think they are accurate to when the story took place.
Does the going merry or the thousand sunny have a shower? Do they never bath if they are on a ship. I probably shouldn't worry about this and just enjoy the fun adventures I guess
I don't actually depict any major events in these videos and like I say at the start of every video, characters, arc names, and settings are fair game to be discussed and alluded to, as they lack context for their significance. It's unfortunate that you would ignore this effort to preserve the big reveals for new fans, but thanks for the engagement I suppose.
any easter eggs in the live action will only be for long time fans, and will contain hints of if not outwright spoilers. if youre watching a video about all the secret easter eggs then expect spoilers.
@@DarthZ01 I get what you mean but this is also a spoiler that doesn't happen for a solid 900+ episodes lol. Also, these sorts of videos are never ever just for long time fans. If that were the case, he wouldn't be concerned with spoilers in the first place.
I say at the start of every video what should be expected in these videos-- I make an effort to preserve big reveals for new fans, but characters, arc names, settings, etc are fair game as they lack their proper context. People who watch these videos should know what they are getting into, and even though I try, I can't stop people from ignoring any warnings I give. The poster mentions Tom's fate and is an easter egg, so it would be disservice to not cover it at all.
Best breakdown series of this show on RUclips.
1💯 ✅

Buggy's bandana pls explain i read the series but i forgot
@@venkneisler buggy hid his ear in Luffy's strawhat. The bandana is being used to hide the fact that he doesnt have one ear at that moment
@@venkneisler It's explained later in the show, I won't spoil it.
@@pyrex9382 Dude!!! Don't spoil it! Not cool! At least when I know a spoiler, I tell those who don't to pay attention to some parts or "You'll see"

absolutly the best OPLA breakdowns and its not even close.
Luffy does say when he enters the barrel that it was his first day as a pirate.

All that effort on the book. Shows how elite your videos are man.
I immediately became a fan of yours after your cover of episode 1. Really great work! Keep it up!
good stuff! earned a new sub. looking forward to the rest of the episodes

12:39 When Luffy gets in the barrel, he says it’s his first day.
Let's go a 3rd one!
How the heck do you find this stuff man
One thing I noticed was that the stuffed animals or plushies in Kaya's bed during her scene with Nami seem to resemble Dorry and Brogy.

We
Usopp never lies.
12:37 Luffy did say it was his FIRST day, so maybe he did depart that same day.
In Episode 1 Luffy does say that it's his first day.
Im early !!!! Its 2Am in france 😂
Oda is a big fan of Disney, it’s really cool that was added.
I totally thought that the statue at the end of the staircase in the mansion was Karoo 😂
One thing regarding the flag is that the previous design by Luffy is exactly represented the same way in the anime
Let's goooooo!

I'm surprised you didn't bring up Sham and Buchi.
Not too much to say about them in this episode in terms of details or easter eggs. Saving them for the next one.
Luffys outfit also looks like the one he wore in dressrosa
One piece is unbearably slow paced and still fans correcting Gol D. Roger not Gold Roger still don't understand that it was a reveal later on.
Does the going merry or the thousand sunny have a shower? Do they never bath if they are on a ship. I probably shouldn't worry about this and just enjoy the fun adventures I guess
They do yes! Oda's drawn the interior of the ships before, I recommend giving that a google. Very neat stuff there.
Very important question because I'm having 4kids war flashbacks over it why in the bathing schedule image is Zoro referred to as Zolo.
I read that it was a translation mistake! There even was some official manga translation that calls him "Zolo"!
The English manga still calls him "Zolo," whether due to potential copyright issues with "Zorro" or some other reason.
Garp n coby moment saks so bad
I wont care much on a US pocket watch
Doesn’t want to spoil the name Gol D. Roger.
Literally puts manga panels and major events from hundreds of chapters ahead 😂
