I like how their dad just came in at the end and showed them how to shred like a man!
This comments never getting old 😂😂
Jfc! Hahaha
😂😂😂😂
comment section still alive hahaha
@@jeielarabis8917 brandons hair style and sleeveless hoodie might have died but Polyphia comment sections will never die 🤣
Stevie T: What if metal sounded happy?
Polyphia: Hold my major chord-progression.
Rick Graham has to be the most efficient player I've ever seen.
i think the same, he es really amazing , chek him out in his channel , he can blow your mind.
David Hoch maybe tied with wes hauch
Nick Johnston.
Yeah he makes it look sickeningly easy.
Smooth as butter
I miss this Polyphia like crazy
right?
Not at all
same, after muse, their stuff is wack imo
3:42 smoothest sweeps I've ever seen in my life.
ShredableGuitar
**mindblown**
Wow perfection t it's best
facemelter
ShredableGuitar He mixes in alternate picking with them, which makes it 1000x more badass than just regular sweeps.
I think this (alt picking) is easier than a real sweep, but who knows, I just have trouble with sweeps. This guy is freakin amazing at it ( and everything ).. /watch?v=qW_34BSzkFU < Helix Nebula guitarist
So many "DAAAAAAAAAMN, THAT'S FUCKING TASTY" moments.
lol so many quick but slick licks righr there ;)
DAMN SON WHERE'D YOU FIND THIS
Rick Graham is one of the smoothest guitar players Ive ever seen
such mature guitar phrasing from a band so young. incredible. seriously jealous of your chops!
Awesome work guys :D Also, that Rick Graham solo is killer!
Dude gave me chills!
Love you guys!
I listen to this daily and it gets better each time.
Oh my god that sliding noise at 2:10, IT FITS SO WELL
Wow- Rick's interlude. Just perfect tone- technique and approach IMHO. Nicely done all...
Do young people nowadays understand the amount of time and dedication it takes to even have a chance of being able to compose and perform on this level? Excellent musicianship.
dude of course, i love these guys and their old stuff is so good too. i love the metal but also the more recent stuff. i try to make my own music sound like this and it does take time and a lot of focus and is hard not to get board after hours of recording.
This is Amazing! And Rick at the end is a perfect finish. That guy plays so smoothly its ridiculous.
Rick Grahan - *Playing fast as hell..
Also Rick - *not moving fingers at all
Holy shit Rick Graham's fretting hand hardly moves on that run at 3:40. This is insane.
+Celestial Fury Rick Graham is from another planet!
Polyphia I still think you guys win, both Tim and Scott!
Not dissing Rick but you guys are way more innovative and appealing. At least, for me.
Rick's solo.. no words. This track is so sick!
2:26 that stick flip is dope. I had to watch a couple times to make sure I seen it right.
That eyebrow movement though, btw sick phrasing omg fucking love this band.
Easily your guys' best work I must say. This song will never get old no matter how much I listen to it. Has the perfect amount of heaviness, mixed with an awesome melodic side to things. Sweet use of power chords, I just love it all. Hope you fellas continue on to make more amazing music like this song. Its a good fit for you guys.
I swear if you guys surprise us with a singer like Intervals did... I will fight all of you. Your music is too good for any singer. Love it!
I hear you, im still hoping that was just one intervals song.
geoff brown
It's not, if you read the description of their video the whole album has that tool singing. I just hope they release an instrumental version also... depressing.
***** Don't you dare call Mike Semesky a tool, your a tool for not having an open mind to the bands creative vision.

@@AaHo0102 seriously bro, chill. If you have an opinion, how about sharing it without being a dick?
Monstrous phrasing from all parties, very enjoyable.
so much negativity. i think this kicks ass. good shit lads i look forward to hearing a lot more
Thanks, friend!
Negativity ?
Polyphia will you guys remaster this song?
Burnzy494959 I'm guessing because most people that listen to this genre or like, form of technical guitar playing like it on a minor scale and when it's played on a major scale it kinda loses it's brutality and just trashiness that metal fans have grown to love. Although this is fantastically technical, and really quite brilliant, I don't prefer it because of the scale, I wanna listen to shit that makes me feel like killing people :D
Burnzy494959 yeah dude honestly, ive seen some pretty stupid comments on these guys, and i dont get it these guys are fucking awesome
like im pretty sure these guys are younger than me, im only 21 and they were still waayyyyyyy better than me even when they were younger judging by some of the videos. i just dont understand how people are going to talk shit on some kids just because they dont conform exactly to your standard for instrumental prog rock.
Half a million!!!!! Congrats guys!!
thx :-)
0:23 Paul Gilbert string skipping mode: Activated.
I said it before and I'll say it again, Rick Graham's solo at the end is the best guitar solo I've ever heard. The story he tells with it is awe inspiring.
Fantastic!
frogtofall where do you find the story at?
The story is the solo itself. It tells a story to my ears.
The bass really stands out with that tone. Very nice
Dat string wave at 3:00 ;)
Altezza boi Trippy...and 9secs later he slides back to that note instead
xactly dude, it was left handedly plucked with purpose.. to wave. wkwkwk
Rick Graham's solo is still making my heart ache after all these years.
0:01 - 0:15 is why i listen to this song
Dank Laughs agree...
That Rick Graham solo o_0
***** Rick Graham's solo sound a lot more expressive and organic, the way he phrases, the way he does vibrato, bends, slides, also his picking attack just sound a lot more expressive/dynamic and human-like. He has great timing. Rick also has a bit of organic rock-blues vibe in his playing. The Polyphia's guitarist are technically great, and play good melodies as well, but their playing sound mechanical, robotic and "sterile/flat" to me. IMO huge difference between them in terms of dynamic control, timing as well.
+Reiner Braun Precisely! this comment is on point. This is a perfect example on how to differentiate playing styles of course it would be FEEL over TECHNIQUE or how you make ascertain that being a guitarist is just not destroying the strings playing fast notes etc. Technically polyphia is good hands down but their playing style is just bland. i'm sure the playing style will grow/adopt soon.
+Josh Westfalll Hey whoa, these guys are amazing and very creative. I definitely wouldn't call them bland lol. Rick's solo was definitely the standout for me, but I would never call these guys bland. Pretty unique actually.
+Reiner Braun yes of course, hes way better, but than again he s also lot older than they are...
+NateMantle They're great musicians who are extremely creative, but people see young faces and fast fingers, and there you go! Automatically judged as mindless shredders... Quite sad.
everyone always laughing at Scottie's nose but lets take a moment to appreciate Tim's giraffe neck
let's not xx
This comment is probably why he tatted it up
@@peterzelaya9948 ^^^ LMAOOOOO
@@peterzelaya9948 those tattoos called more attention to it, in my opinion
@@corrado lol now you can't not stare at that long ass neck boi
just love how his eyebrow did the bend at the very beginning
it doesn't make sense how good you guys are
I dont know who Rick graham is (I know thats lame) but i can tell from this solo that he is a fucking genius.
yes he is. i recommend to check him out
Guitarist from Intervals.
Cody Fraker No, the guitarist from Intervals is Aaron Marshall. Rick Graham one of the bigger fusion names you'll find here on yt. He is a real beast of a guitarist as well.
Rebellion0915 and his hybrid picking lines are ice cold.
Rebellion0915
oh right. Either way their both fucking amazing.

hahah. thts true. ffrom first day I saw him im like wth!. I never said anything . you are brave bro! this just make my day I cant even lougth im at starbucks danng it. g t hold my laougthing.
and he doesn't even give a crap about it!
he even look sideways!
Every time i see 3:42 my mouth hits the floor...
Revisiting this all these years later and it still stands as my favorite Polyphia track by far.
2:50
The most classicaly trained bend ever played
2:18 : when you realize a mic cord has been on your cymbal the whole time
He was palm muting the cymbal.
NecroComet mic cords are so diverse
Hershey Holman Very versatile cables. I use them to hang my clothes when it's raining outside.
😂😂😂😂Lhhh tht face was price less
I'll always remember the day this came out, on the last day of 2013 for me. Set a big tone for the whole year to come, and I'm still here listening almost two later.
Thanks for your work Polyphia.
+Ben Weblin it was certainly an unusually interesting time for us as a band. thanks so much for sticking around, love you and see you soon hopefully!
0:28 to 1:01 is just so perfect. I can't get enough of that groove.
Rick Graham is so relaxed when he plays. In a lot of guitar players, including myself, it's easy to to tense up when playing a tough lick or riff, but Rick just plays so effortlessly. I never get tired of watching him play.
He is from another planet!
From the makers of hair metal, I present, nose rock.
There’s is just something epic about how that low string hits when it drops to that D at 0:14
i found myself shouting WOW, THEY ARE DOING IT RIGHT!! at my computer screen. first polyphia track i've ever peeped - am quite satisfied.
welcome to the squad
@@PolyphiaI am also in the squad
"Plenty shirt, no shoes, all service son.

WOW that guy at the end killed it!, amazing performance.
imagine if Polyphia was still like this
I hope so :((
Naa
kieran arnold i hope not
Nooooooo pls no,hell na
Nah they 'famous' now bro. Ain't gonna fit in with the pop band, know wham sayinn. Lemme tell you I dated this girl and she was like 'y'all heard of Polyphia?' And I was like whaa, how you know about them..? Then I heard their new sh!t and I was like 'Oh..' TO ME, this stuff is so ridiculously technical and f*cking amazing really. And I've been playing for a decade. The new stuff? Nah. It's good but it's like it came straight out of a conveyor belt from a factory ie generic sounding.
the wave of the string at 3:00 is so satisfying
Rick Graham's solo... I'm crying.
How did this guy manage to evade my radar for so long? Can't believe I haven't heard of such an amazing guitarist, thank you for featuring him, I'm subscribing to his youtube channel.
So glad you guys recommended yourselves to me back in 2014. And looking back at it you guys came a long way from where you guys were. You guys are doing great and all of you are amazing keep the killer licks coming 🤘
Best new band ive heard in a long time guys keep up the solid work
BABY SCOTT AND TIM ;_;
Cuties😩
2022 and it's still 🔥
Rick's tone is definitely the best here, what's with all the god dang brightness and presence on your lead tones, they're really piercing.
that wink at 0:02 let's you know that shit is going to go down! been pressing the reply button over and over again for the past two days. amazing stuff!
Rick Grahams right hand technique is fucking crazy
Its his legato that rapes my mind. Look up Rick Graham Legato technique
Yeah, but the fact that some of his legato technique comes from his right hand with the palm muting, makes it that much more amazing.
The guy is a wizard
every transition is so clean. badass all around
Too good.... Love the soul and heart I hear every time I listen to this song. Amazing!
Rick's solo is a full eargasm solo
2019........... still the best to me .... my fav tune when relaxing..........
all done so effortlessly...such talent
Great work on all your videos dude, what i enjoy most is you are clearly really enjoying playing, there is love in this music. Your drummer reminds me of Heiki from the band Norther , Great production all round here
Great production and nice phrasing.
Crazed talent flooding the eyes and ears
Absolutely amazing!!! Keep up the Great work!!
You guys are amazing. Cant wait for the next album
I came here for Rick Graham.
Same here
I came when I heard Rick Graham.
@Yoku Costanza the guy that played the solo
Immanuel rodriguez the whole song was a solo except for the breakdown
How the fuck do you move your eyebrow like that?
I don't know, I've been trying for the last 6 hours.
ParcelFace LMAO
It's genetic. Some people can while others cannot. I can move my right eyebrow but not my left one like he can.
***** Get out
Makes my soul move when hear this. To know how much hear and soul that goes into something like this!
This has always been my favorite song by you guys!
Amazing song! At 1:15 sounds like a "Transcends" happier cousin c:

Goddammit Rick!! The feels! The effortlessness! uuuuhhhhhhggggg so good
Holy shit. I think I just found my new favorite band.
quality of everything is amazing!
This is the kind of music that makes me strive to become a better guitar player. technically and in the writing department as well. I love the melodic, light-hearted, majory phrasing that you guys use. I started writing riffs in that vein and its so awesome to see that style gaining popularity.
that drum is so tight
3:30 OMG Featuring BRUCE DICKSON lead singer from Iron Maiden. hahahaha
AWESOME JOB GUYS!!
Fuck outta here...
Hahaha lmfao
Wow! Love it! Congrats Polyphia yall just won a new subscription...Awsome! Brandon you did awesome as always!

+Jordan J that isn't editing
Jerrylee Stewart-Gonzalez Haha, yep, it's actually vibrating that much
Jordan J it is
My first comment to ever go on RUclips... anybody who can appreciate technical precision, musical wisdom, and compositional talent should see this, the rich variety of styles coming together should help anyone from a Jazz enthusiast to a Metalhead absolutely fly away with this song. As a live sound and studio engineer, props to everyone playing, and my respects to Rick Graham
I love playthroughs of really technical songs because you get to see the focus on thier faces. Its something that reassures other musicians starting that its okay to mess up when writing and learning. To play these things perfect even the guys that wrote amazing pieces like this have to focus a lot more than it seems in the music videos and live shows, where they are puting on a show to keep people entertained.
my nigga Rick Graham so effortless
0:03 seconds into polyphia n chill and he gives you this look
They've made technical mastery into this beautiful, listenable, musical thing. One of the best groups I've ever heard of. All the time I've wasted on the internet was to find this. Worth it.
Amazing sound guys, very nice solos, bass lines, drums, u did a great job, congratz.
That opening solo is still so fire
1:03 sounds very btbamesque (astral body) to me. love that part!!
You all show some truly badass playing. Keep it up!
That first solo is one of the best I've ever heard. Great talent.
I miss this polyphia
Such beauty
Much Shreddage
Wow.
Connor Clark Melodies and leads are on point. The riffs and drumming are just boring as shit.
Soy Sauce Gonna have to completely disagree with that drumming comment... The drummer fits this bands playing style perfectly. And to be honest I wouldn't even say he's a boring fit. I think the timing can be quite intricate at times.
Every time I see that damn doge meme, all I van think about is Starfire from the Teen Titans trying to describe something.
Faytiss Eltion Your hair is fucking gay
ItzAmufn
Oh hey another one of those "Itz-xxx" codfags. Your arguments are totally valid and relevant!
You guys have a style of harmony melody and rhythm that is SO unique, but yet SO noticeable but NOT repetitive. You are all technically advanced as well as rooted with some great Musicality. I will be buying your second album also. Sorry I couldn't donate to help make the studio possible.
Very cool tune, love it!
