@@Woody991 "i play guitar" "i just dont get it" Huh? That does not make sense. If you play Guitar, you should be able to understand how complex it is and how skilled you have to be to play this.
The technicality these guys have is unmeasured.... dont get me wrong, the world is filled with incredible musicians, but something about Polyphia just makes them stand out above the rest. Each member has such a crucial part to each song, and again the technicality in each instrument is beyond godlike
Polyphia is barely scratching the surface of technicality and music complexity, they are simply more easy on the eyes so anyone can pick up something from them and like it. Doesn't remove the merit they have just not the godlike status you gave them, they are far from it.
Let me tell you, what that drummer is doing is straight up LEGIT. You have no idea what he's playing is SO HARD, the off tempo, the off time signatures and his pauses and fills are incredible. GREAT F-ING JOB BROTHER 🤘🥁🥁🤘
Polyphia's guitar/bass players get a lot of love but holy crap the drummer is underappreciated. Someone much smarter than me accurately said that the drummer is so good that he makes his pauses feel like they have weight.
Man always looks like he's having the time of his life too - so many songs just really shine cause of the small things he adds They're all fucking incredible at each instrument imo
@@GizzyDillespee You're just hearing the electronics effects he's putting on his kit. Usually people would sample to do that, but he's gone the extra mile to FX his kit out to make those sounds "live". Which is honestly more impressive. He's just doing what normally guitarists are doing with pedals and stuff.
The level of synergy between the instruments is beyond real. I had to check the live performance to see if they can actually play this...and they did..to the point. I don't even..
not that it changes how impressive it is, but they play with a click in their ear to help them keep time live. again, doesnt change how skilled they are in anyway just throwing it out there.
@@mareksmid6906 What's your point? They're both incredibly difficult things for different reasons. Don't try to undermine the talent of this band by saying something else is more difficult.

This song is quite literally the equivalent of a musical dab, flexing skills, showing off like they're the greatest of all time or something. ... _I love it._
big chungus lol that’s not even what he said you moron. It was a joke because G.O.A.T. Stands for greatest of all time. And there is no such thing as being the best at music. It’s not a competition, there is no goal to pursue. You can compare individual aspects like technical ability or musical knowledge but even then that says nothing about the music itself. You’ll never be finished learning. And if you think you are the best, then you won’t be for very long. That’s why people like yngwie malmsteen suck nowadays.
@@easysteezy58 I'm shortly repeating what Dova said: 't was a joke on G.O.A.T. standing for "Greatest Of All Time", and this song being essentially a flex of skill. Additionally, _music-technically this song is fucking insane._ "Nothing close to the greatest of all time" is as much a lie as saying that they're #1. It all depends on what you're ranking musicians on, but nearly regardless of WHAT you're ranking this song on, dude, *_they're up there alright._* ... Still, no harm, just having a bit of fun with a joke. :P Cheers mate. :)

I love how they often finish each other's rhythmic statements. Listen to 3:06 - 3:09 The guitar starts the phrase and drums almost finishes the phrase until the guitar comes back in. Think about the technical level to go from a rip to a groove and back so effortlessly while maintaining that tight pocket. Amazing. All of them.

as a non musical person i really don't understand these type of comments , what do you mean they are synchronized? of course they are, isn't that the whole purpose of a band? they are supposed to do that, like imagine if the guitarist and the bassist were playing two different songs and they weren't even in the same tempo , of course they are synchronized that's the only way to make music as a band i don't get it
@@noahsark9962 are there actually people that think this is boring? like it's not quite the music i like but as a musician, i can still learn a lot from these guys.

Yes. Exactly. It’s interwoven counterpoint. It captures your attention then shifts it, shifts it, brings your mind into, out, shift, and around and blast off. The arrangement of notes and rests is arresting.
Really appreciate how each piece of the band is given time to shine in this song. People tend to see the bass as a supporting sound in a band, but it's really given a spotlight at certain points in this song, and Clay crushes it every step of the way.

the good thing about this band is the originality of its sound. whether someone is able to play it or not is just a technical question. Am I the only one seeing this? I mean, if you go back and take a look... That glorious, sexy, machine of a drummer is in the spotlight for about 3 mins and 35 seconds. And the rest of them? Well, after watching it again I'm wondering if there are even any other band members... Seriously, I'm only seeing a drummer guys. Well, the video must have been shot inside of someone's pants... Since, I can only see the drummer, it's obviously taking place where he's at. It's pretty, again obvious to those of us with ears, that he's in the pocket. For the entire video. Something that deserves an award... and hell, also a REward, in and of itself, considering what exactly he's having to drum to. Someone give this man some ice cream, a noble piece prize.. for being the most noble *piece* of kit that any guitar player could hope to have in their arsenal. Dude is absolutely bonkers... I don't even play drums, I play guitar... Yet I know exactly where my eyes are every time I come to cum watching this video.

Animals as leaders, Meshuggah, Gojira, Car bomb
