    I like to fly the A330 as it is a very comfortable plane but when we are talking looks, the NEO -900 easily wins. I have flown the -200 and -300 series with both GE and RR engines. The best sound for me is the RR powered variant though.

  • @Sacto1654
    @Sacto1654 2 года назад +9

    The A330 had one intended purpose when originally envisaged: a replacement for the A300B4-600R. (Indeed, the A330-300 actually fulfilled the promise of the original A300 proposal from 1967, of all things.) But it was the demand from the airlines that resulted in the smaller A330-200, a plane that proved to be far more popular than anticipated because it could fly longer transoceanic routes. like transpacific routes and Europe to South America. The A330-900neo was developed originally as an less expensive plane than the A350-900, but the plane could end up in very high demand for point-to-point long-range flights in the future.

    Love the two/four/two seating in economy on this aircraft. Everyone, who loves a window seat, is just one seat away from an aisle. Boeing 787 with the three/three/three seating where a window loving passenger has to disturb two people to go to the bathroom is a bust. I avoid it totally. Looking forward to an A330-900 trip next month to Europe on Delta in Delta One! Yippee!

    It's insane to me that Airbus' competitor to the 767 can still compete against the 787.
    Honestly, I don't think this is because Airbus is such a great company.....

    • @InquisitiveBaldMan
      @InquisitiveBaldMan 2 года назад +5

      Waiting lists and training pilots basically - If your operating an original a330, you can put your name down for a 787 to save 18% costs but it will arrive in two years and you'll have to re-train your pilots and buy a flight sim, an A330 NEO (similar engine to 787) which saves you 15% and will arrive in 6 months is very appealing....(made up numbers but you get the drift). It is no different to how the 747-8 was used to make A380 a painful experience. Or how a stretched A350 NEO will surely make the 777x a painful experience in a time of shrinking planes.

    • @InquisitiveBaldMan
      @InquisitiveBaldMan 2 года назад +1

      A stretched A350NEO might be way more effective than people think btw. They will be able to bring out the plane at a moments notice, and put the very latest engines on it. I have my doubts anyone with A350s would retrain for a 777x without heavy bribes/discounts. It will replace some A380/747 operators however.

    • @Luke_Go
      @Luke_Go 2 года назад

      @@InquisitiveBaldMan I know what you mean, but I disagree with the premise. There is a reason why Boeing's 717 isn't an A220 competitor.

    But I wonder why Airbus has all of them landing the way that they do...first the two back tires in the main landing gears then the second and you can feel it definitely. Perhaps they should incorporate the landing gears of the A350s? Their landing gears looks nicely balanced and touches down simultaneously. Any thoughts🙂?

    i basically luv all the a330's, even the back of the plane, looks absolutely sleek design, the 1 thing, i hope it gets, is the triple bogeys landing gear, i hate the double bogey. it just looks very beefy, when there is a triple bogey landing gear, on a plane, just like the, boeing triple 7. also, the a330, has a similar, boeing, front nose, instead of the, big round one, like all, the other airbus, model's. so if, airbus, just put, a set of, triple bogeys, on all the, a330's, it will, definitely, 110%percent, be the best, looking, plane, out of all, the planes, out there, flying write now!!!!!

    • @Neilarmeweak550
      @Neilarmeweak550 2 года назад +2

      Not entirely true. It is clear that you are not aware of the history of your 'favorite' aircaft. The A330 is basically a downsized A340 which means that the lift available for the A330 is far higher than what an aircraft of its size actually needs. Understand that gear tilt does not equate to smooth landings. That is not what they were designed for. Aircraft like the 777 and A330 have tilted landing gears to avoid a tailstrike on takeoff it basically increases clearance between the rear end of the aircraft and the ground
