A little question that I don't think has been asked yet.
At any point during this episode did the fear of death of the undying referring to Al past through your mind?
This show is so good! I still can’t believe that you two chose Demon Slayer over FMAB if it wasn’t for the copyright strikes. Smh
You had it right number of souls= lives. so technically they are not immortal... they are just very very very hard to kill.
If you guys loved the jigglely animation, you'd love the anime THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS.
what was ur reaction when u found out lust and roys va are married lol
Fun Fact: Hiromu Arakawa wrote a bonus comic about how she wrote this chapter in the original manga. She had included a little too many jokes, her editor thought, and he encouraged her to tone them down a little based on how serious the chapter was. That led to this conversation:
Hiromu: "But we can keep the boobs, right?"
Editor: "You gotta keep the boobs!"
Nice
Woman of culture!
That's hilarious
She absolutely has her priorities straight.
Lmao 😭
Fun fact: when Mustang says he’s familiar with the stink of burning corpses, that’s actually softening of the original line. In the manga, he talks about how when he burns someone, the fat vaporises and sticks to the lips and tongue.
The fact that Riza didn't actually run out of bullets, keeping one in case Roy was actually dead so that she could sho0t herself is so sad to me especially as a Royai shipper
Wow, never noticed that before, but you're right. Riza's last gun holds six rounds and she only fired 5. Dang! Just when you think you've rewatched it enough to catch everything a new detail is pointed out.
@@ryanakers1372 Ikr?! The amount of effort they put into even the tiniest details just makes the show so much better and gives the characters such depth
@@ryanakers1372Kinda Spoilery:
And i never realised until this point that Lust wants Mustang to do human transmutation by leving him with Havoc. She clearly says that she wants to kill Al and Mustang but her "killing" Barry really shows how strong she acctually is. Also her going for Riza instead of Al. Capturing them would have been an easy option as we see later. For me, it totally makes sence that she wanted Mustang to become a "real" candidate
@@joelschittenhelm5571 spoilery reply to spoiler
no she was genuinely shocked to see him when he showed up. Plus it would have killed him to do human transmutation in the shape he was in there's no way he would have survived paying the toll and a dead human sacrifice doesn't do them any good. Plus while the promise day is getting closer it's still quite a ways off at this point so I genuinely believe she was trying to kill Al and mustang and banking on them being able to use Marco or other alchemists by the time the promise I actually rolled around. The reason she was able to dispatch b
Barry so much easier than Al is because he literally charged headfirst into her attack
It may look like that but after she stops shooting you can hear her continuing to pulling the trigger and it just clicking. She fired all her shots, I think one is just masked by the scream.
Roy destroying Lust is one of my favorite moments of the entire show, largely thanks to the incredible animation.
Not to mention the voice acting and score
Amazing scene, truly one of the best in all anime imo
Definitely a cool episode
We need to teach the Letts what Sasuga is so that we can get a counter for it.
@@GamerGrovyle What's Sasuga?
To this date I don't know what to be impressed by more, Mustang absolutely obliterating Lust or the fact that he drew a perfect transmutation circle on his hand while lying on a floor bleeding out.
Producing a compass with random bits and pieces is not the most complicated of tasks. That's how I'd go about it at least. Being that he's a well experienced alchemist one would imagine that he has had to draw circles a lot and knows how to do it in an emergency.
He has an alchemist watch that is circle shaped. He could have just set it on his hand and traced it with a sharp object.
people just seem to be able to draw perfect circles instantly in this series. Remember when Al would draw circles in like 5 seconds in the middle of a fight? Plus, May is shown drawing them *with her feet* so yeah, it just seems to be a thing in this universe lol
@@infinitynull9597 Slight problem with using his watch. The circle he uses has a doubled boundary, meaning he would need a second slightly smaller object with which to draw the inner circle, and he would have to set it up concentrically to the first which is probably an unnecessary timewaster, a decive like a compass could be quickly adjusted to produce both circles.
On another note however, referencing future material with as little further information as possible for spoiler reasons, pretty sure the circle drawn in episode 63 is pretty shabby, also, unless Amestris has really weird topography, it seems unlikely that Hohenheim's circle in episode 61 is actually a perfect circle. So it seems like you just need a good enough circle. Still I doubt that just any free-hand circle would do, Roy likely used some sort of measuring device for this one.
@@stardmg I guess that's the requirement that comes with being an alchemist 😅
Throughout the entire show up until this point we've been told Roy is a great alchemist, but this episode is the first time it's shown to us *how* good he is. He definitely earned his place as a State Alchemist.
Yep! He's lowkey the strongest person on the side of the good guys.
@@gigigvintsadze7382 Not lowkey but high key. He is the strongest alchemist in the show if you don't count people with Philosopher stones.
@@roguesoul5051 Pretty sure he can overpower most alchemists even if they have Philosophers Stone. By lowkey I meant that he was mostly used as a comic relief in fights up until this episode.

@@ryanakers1372 No, they got married in 2011. By then, the show was already finished.
You gotta applaud Laura Bailey as Lust.
Apparently after that recording session she needed to recover after those amazing screams.

A really crazy detail I see that reactors tend to miss is how close Lust was to stabbing Mustang with her nails. And the reason why she didn’t reach him was cause Hughes killed her one time with the throwing knife back in episode 10. Even from beyond the grave, Maes was still protecting his friend…
Also, Montana knows what actual fanservice looks like in anime now
OOOOOH. Never caught the Hughs connection. Whoa.
Nothing about that makes sense.
@@fren14fmab It kind of does; the last time Lust was killed before all of this was at Hughes' hand, she was stabbed in the same place she was about to get Roy at and if she had had one more 'life' (the one Hughes took) she would have managed to kill him.
Ok, yes, but also Riza's entire collection. Let's not forget about that.
The moment you check the Dub Cast and realize that this episode is basically just Travis Willingham incinerating his wife. 😂😧

For Roy’s alchemy, I realized this show never fully explains how it works.
The transmutation circle on his glove allows him to perform minute transmutations on columns of oxygen in contact with the circle; not fire. The gloves are made of specialized material that creates a spark when it’s rubbed together. He snaps his fingers to make a spark, like with flint and steel, and uses his alchemy to concentrate the oxygen in the air around that spark, toward his target in a line, and into a condensed bubble at his target’s position. Oxygen is everywhere, so if he touches any with his transmutation circle, he can manipulate oxygen at a great distance, and set it alight at will with a snap of his fingers. It’s terrifying how powerful flame alchemy is, and all it entails is reshaping clouds of oxygen at will.
If the show never explains how it works, what is this explanation from? Is it canon to the show?
Riza's voice actress didn't scream as long as Laura did, but you could still feel every bit of it, so props to her too
This is one of the best episodes in the entire series. If you are not into the series by this point, you never will.

Watching Lust in FMA 2003, then watching Brotherhood is always interesting. 2003 Lust's driving motivation is to become human, while Brotherhood Lust confidently claims *"I AM human."*
It's a fun contrast to her characater
You are a true legend for watching both series!
The 2003 Lust had more human elements and more character depth than her Brotherhood counterpart
@@kunaldebnath3879
What you perceive as "character depth" may not be the case, coz as I see it FMA's characters were not properly utilised throughout the series to tell an engaging succinct story. Fmab used their characters very well unlike FMA, which stretched the story on and on with pointless character motivations, that never led to a proper pay off but an anti-climactic end.
@@happilyevernever4289I don’t think it’s fair saying FMAB did every character better, when FMA was still following the manga it did a pretty great job with most characters
Fun fact: The animation of Lust burning against Mustang's fire was animated by legendary animator Yoshimichi Kameda. He is famous for using heavy ink brush strokes in his animation cuts. The strands of hair you see on Lust when she burns, were actually brush strokes via ink brush. You will see a lot of his most famous works in shows produced by Studio Bones (including FMAB).

I’ve seen people comment it before, when Hughs “killed” Lust once by throwing his knife into her head, he technically saved Roy. If Hughs hadn’t done that, Lust probably would’ve impaled Roy in the head at the end
I don't know Glttony runs out of regeneratons in one episode and some episodes later he can do it again I think they recover their ability to do so over time. Of course it's possible father fed him a philospher's stone too.
@@DaDunge I think with Gluttony, he was out of energy to heal, but his body wasn't killed, only wounded so he was able to be recharged by Father.
@@DaDunge If I remember correctly, that was a case where he ran out of energy, but hadn't taken any damage after being healed, meaning he didn't die. Or it could just be he had the slightest amount to keep him alive but nothing else.
@@tau-5794 Yeah. In Gluttony's case, he was actually injured. Still alive as a human with his injuries would be, but if he'd actually _tried_ to heal them, he would've died.
In the manga, when assuring Havoc that Lust had been blown to ashes, Roy explains that when a body is burned, the fat deposits disperse into the air, and it makes it lips get sticky from it, which is his tell that the person has been completely incinerated. Ishval left him with some pretty macabre knowledge.
Fanservice, when applied properly, can be hilarious. With a character like Lust it's reasonable to have a bit whenever she pops up. The humor about it was on point, too. It's when some anime overdo it or use it at terrible times that it can be annoying.
If they're not already simping for Roy, they gonna learnnn this episode
Reminder: according to Ed, a true philosophers stone is unbreakable, so long as it holds its power. So you can't just physically destroy the stone, you have to drain it from its energy first.
Plus that Marco was keeping his in a glass bottle as a liquid so smash it with a hammer probably wouldn't do any damage.
Lust’s English dub voice actress is Laura Bailey and if you were ever curious about how talented she is, go watch Fruits Basket (either the original or the 2018 remake) and pay special attention to the character Tohru Honda and then rewatch this episode, all the while remembering Tohru and Lust are voiced by the same person, Laura Bailey.
By the way, Lust's power is sometimes called the "ultimate spear", but in some fan translations (subs of anime and translations of manga) it was printed "ultimate penetrator" rofl.
Makes sense when you consider where she came from
One interesting change from the manga; originally, the revelation of the previous episode (that Mustang had faked Ross’s death) came *after* the events of this episode. This is, in fact, the chronological order of things, since the trip across the desert took quite a while. I’m glad the anime changed the ordering.
Another cool fact about this episode: Arakawa has said she made Jean Havoc a smoker specifically so he would have a lighter on hand for the events of this episode.
Can't wait to see if you guys pick up on this but just in case, Mustang burned up all the souls powering Lust's philosopher stone. Which is much easier to do with flame since the whole body needs repairing that takes a lot of energy (vs the head or limbs) So going back to when Bradley told Greed "how many times until you stay dead" they live as long and until the stone is used up.
They did suggest that as it was happening yeah 😊
I Love Al. He's all: "I'm here. That means you're safe. I'll stop her, save you, and--oh balls it's an angry Mustang!"
And then puts a wall up with no further consideration.
17:18 Gonna come down on this hard; the location of the Oruboros tattoo has no relation to the location of the Philosopher's Stone within the Homunculus' body. If you remember, Bradley repeatedly cut off Greed's hands, whose tattoo was on the back of his hand, and Greed regenerated from his body, not from his hand. The Stone is always at their core.
Also, Ed has said earlier that a Philosopher's Stone is "perfect material", as they are supposed to be conventionally indestructible. The only way to destroy a Stone is to burn up all the energy of the souls contained within it. Even if Riza had shot the Stone, it wouldn't have worked.
Remember in Legend of Korra when Asami said a firebender killed her mother? It is interesting to consider that with this episode.
Wow. Never thought of that 🤨😅
yo thats a connection
I mean, how often to you hear about any other kind of bender killing people, as part of someone's backstory?
This episode does why Mustang is the Goat amongst Goats in this show
One of my favorite scenes in this episode is the final time Mustang incinerated Lust. It makes it look like Mustang is burning her with his glare alone.
Two things I took from Barry's soul and body dying (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong);
1. Despite Barry cutting up his body, it somehow survived. So it seems no matter what happens to an empty body it'll survive as long as the soul still exists, which is also shown with Barry's body decaying but still able to move on its own.
2. Barry's body intentionally destroyed the seal to finally kill itself. Being alive but without its soul probably felt like torture for it.
the philosopher’s stone is a perfect object. it can’t be broken, only used up until it’s gone
Now it's time to change Lust simp counter into Roy simp counter
1000% the look on Kenny’s face when Roy’s bod was showing I was like “I know what’s coming”
@@ivanlongoria3136 🤣🤣🤣 true
I finshed this series yesterday, it’s absolutely incredible! I'm so excited for y’all watch it all
Kenny has the idea of the philosopher's stone down pat. Philosopher's Stones are like batteries. A battery runs out when it loses charge. Philosopher's stones are powered by souls so it also runs out when it is out of souls to fuel the alchemy. So in essence, Philosopher's stone still follows the law of equivalent exchange. But you don't see the exchange because souls are being sacrificed to do the alchemy. So no matter how potent the philosopher's stone, it will eventually run out.
Also if episode 19 is one of the best action and thriller episode, episode 20 is THE episode for lore, heart and thematic elements. Episode 20 is one of my most favorite episodes of the series. And believe it or not, both of these episodes WILL get outclassed by future episodes. That's just how good the writing is
Looking forward to the death of the Lust simp counter and the birth of the Mustang simp counter!!
I think it's worth noting that in an interview the author of the manga this show is based on said she made Havoc a smoker for the sole purpose of giving Mustang access to a lighter during his encounter with Lust, cause that tiny detail was the only believable way she could have Mustang win.
That is the level of attention to detail and long range planning that was put into this story, and on rewatch it REALLY shows.
It even comes into play again later in the show!
9:02 "It's day 4 of trying to animate this jiggle properly. I've known neither food nor sleep. The only thing that matters is making these puppies jiggle like pudding!"
I don't know if you remember from when Marco was talking about the stone but it's capable of changing its state making it more or less physically and vulnerable. You can't smash it. So even if mustang had tried to destroy the stone after he ripped it out of Lust's chest it wouldn't have worked because the stone can't be destroyed that way
wrong, while i can change its form if it takes a form it is vulnerable to the weaknesses of that form for example if its in liquid form and you expose it to enough heat it will evaporate if its in crystal form and you hit it with a hammer it will shatter and so on
@@houseofaction Except you can destroy a crystal because it's made out of a crystal. The form of the philosopher's stone is a pointless detail, because the stone itself is made from human souls, the point being to destroy a philosopher's stone you'd need to break down the composition of a human soul. The only real way to theoretically destroy a philosopher's stone, any other way is just mistaking the philosopher's stone for an actual stone.
You know... instead of cosplaying Lust, Montana should totally cosplay as Riza or maybe even Winry. But definitely Riza for sure.

Lol let the Mustang simping begin 😂
I've seen a few reactors think of destroying the Philosopher's Stone as a way to kill the homunculus, but miss the point. One thing to note is that to destroy something the material it's made of is what's important, i.e. adding a little carbon to iron will turn it to steel and make it stronger but adding too much carbon will just make it brittle and easier to destroy. The Philosopher's Stone can be in any form we only really see them as stones, and with just Marco as liquid too. But the point made is that the actual form of the Philosopher's Stone is a pointless detail as they are made of human souls, so standard destructive measures don't work. Supported under the idea that Philosopher's Stones are made of a perfect substance and are thus unbreakable. So in this case, exhausting the energy inside led to it's destruction. Theoretically, though, if you could break down the composition of a human soul, you could destroy the Philosopher's Stone.
Spoilers:
That last part is apparently something Marcoh can do. I wonder what that implies about the nature of souls, or Marcoh's knowledge of them.
The number of souls in a philosopher's stone is directly related to the energy it contains, which is used up by things like repairing their body, but it's far from 1 to 1. Last had WAY more than 20 souls used to make her gem.
To be fair, that's assuming a 1:1 ratio between soul energy and energy needed to convert into healing/repairing.
On top of that, if we assume Lust has never gotten a top up from father like gluttony did, she'd have lost energy throughout the centuries.
what I really like from this show is that of the few moments there are fan service it's normally done to great comedic effect
Just wanted to clarify: a lot of people at this point think the philosopher's stone is the homonculi's weak spot. But as we see here, even ripping it out is not enough, and as stated in episode 1, the stone itself is supposed to be "the perfect substance". As long as it's still got power to spend, it will not break by any normal means. So in a way, it's the opposite of a weak spot.
In the immortal words of one Sam Riegel:
*Laura. Fucking. Bailey.*
`Roy showing just how frigging deadly he can be.
Poor Ishval.
@@NawidN 😭
From here the level of the action will be raised , this is the true beginning of the anime for me 🔥
Montana’s reaction to the fanservice it’s hilarious.😂
It’s a good joke too and it does fit lust.
Fun fact, in the old version of the show mustang lost an eye, and in lusts end scene here she’s pointing at the eye he lost as a reference to it
What I find funny about this is that the VA for Lust and Mustang are married in real life. 🤣🤣🤣
Not me only realizing Lust is Tohru Honda. I just put everything down and stared into space.
It's not anything like having to die a specific number of times before it actually sticks. It's just that the power of their Philosopher's Stone needs to be exhausted for a homunculus to be permanently destroyed.
Something important to note, you can't physically destroy the stone. It's a perfect material and can't be damaged by normal means which is why they can't just kill them by hitting it directly.
I don't think it really is, (SPOILERS AHEAD) because I don't think these stones of trapped souls are actually philosopher's stones. Philospher's stones are meant to be ways around equivelent exchange these stones just prepay the price with life force and souls.
Also I think along those lines because I have read a lot of real life alchemical lore and there the philosopher's stone is a result of purifying one's own soul and reaching englightenment (actually becomming one with the agent intellect, or as plato would put it the form of knowledge/understanding), hence the name. And that is where the link between the philosopher's stone and perfect substance comes. The closest we get in the series is what father does during the promised day, but it's not relaly right either, the alchemist becomes part of the truth not the truth part of the alchemist. Absolute power but at the price of haivng become one with the universe and hence losing ones individual existance. What would have happened to Al if Ed had not bound his soul back to the mortal world is probably the closest.
@@DaDunge How does that process work exactly, according to real life alchemical lore? How is a soul submitted? Is it taken then and there together with the body, and a philosopher's stone is left in the place the body was, like in this show? When the soul becomes part of the ideal of knowledge (truth?), what does that mean for the people still living? Are alchemists just satisfied being "immortal" in this absolutely inconsequential way? So much for turning lead into gold.
@@NawidN There is a lot left out, and I don't understand quite how the stone relates to the perect sage. It seems that once you go deeper in the lore the stone is mentioned less and less and the perfect sage is mentioned more and more. Also immortaliy is not mentioned in the context of eartlhy immortality but in the concept of the soul living on after death and the whole turning lead into gols i really more about th soul becomming golden.
I think it may just be a dichotomy about what the alchemists were really pursuing and what laypeople thought they were pursuing. But then on the other hand we have Flammel who suposedly created a stone so...
The problem with the work of the real life alchemists is that it's all written not just in code but in allegory so it's pretty much impossible to tell what they actually meant.
It possible the stone may have ben an allegory or a red herring in the original texts in the east while it was taken to be an actual object when the ideas transferred into reinassance europe.
It's crazy to think that Lust prying her chest open to show the philosophers stone and draining so much energy to heal is means Roy would have been skewered presumably, since she would have healed a tiny bit longer.
Also fun fact the only reason Jean smokes is because the mangaka needed an excuse for someone to have a lighter for this episode
"How was work, Travis?"
"Pretty good, I set my partner on fire!"
Kenny should show Montana "Highschool of the Dead" as an example of when artists have mastered jiggle physics animation. Specifically when the MC Takashi borrows Rei's gun, it was one of my biggest laugh out loud moments for any anime 🤣.
Btw, fighting and defeating Lust was my favourite Badass Mustang moments.
I've watched this episode dozens of times and "on ur knees" still get's me.
I'm glad to see some badassery from Havoc in these last few episodes before he got skewered, my favourite side character for sure
They make a great duo, Havoc and Mustang. Mustang clearly cares a lot about his crew, and I love to see it. Having another friend risk their lives at the hands of a homonculus must make him restless. Knowing he's doing all this to "protect the ones he loves".
Montana's face change whenever Lust shows up is so precious.
One of the best episodes in a show full of brilliant episodes
9:14 "Recoil artist", that's a good one
Maybe it just hit me different but u can’t believe it took them all the way until now to get hooked with the show and start seeing how great it is. By ep 4 I already thought it was one of the best shows. No show could ever create an emotional response as strong as ep 4 gives in so little time. And its a story that haunts me to this day (and the characters until the very end).
I love how smart you guys are and how much attention you pay to the show, a lot of reactors get to end the show without really understanding how alchemy even works.
Montana: “I love black turtlenecks.”
*Sterling Archer approves*
I love that Mustang just collapses as soon as Lust is dead. He seemed unstoppable, but then as soon as "the job is done" he shows how weak he is. He held it together for EXACTLY as long as he needed to
21.21 - fmab is remake of the fma series from 2003. in ep 13 of the original series it explains that mustangs fire alchemy is a two stage proses. first is the circle he uses makes oxygen combustible witch is what he did with water. the second stage is the use of an ignition source witch is normally his gloves witch r made from a special from material that sparks when rub really hard. that y he cant use the when there wet , his fingers just slip n slide against each other and had to genes lighter here
This is a HUGE episode. So let’s get into it.
Barry the Chopper was having the same primal instinct as his body was. Had he successfully killed his body, there’d be no where for the soul to belong/return to. And the body had decayed from malnourishment. So both would have died anyways. Because Barry was at the point of needing to be dead. And for him to be sorry he disobeyed Mustang’s orders, and completely put his allegiance to Mustang…that’s one hell of a turn for a psycho murderer. But, he ultimately didn’t deserve a 2nd chance for what he had done with no remorse. No remorse being the key factor. It’s good he did what he did ultimately, but he remained a monster.
A philosopher’s stone actually more comes from damaged surface area. A soul can be used to replace body matter. That’s why guns will never kill a Homunculus. And the stone itself is perfect material and likely wouldn’t shatter even if shot. If you tear off an arm, that’s a whole arm that needs to be replaced. And that’s a lot of matter to replace. Which is why Mustang is literally perfect to fight Homunculus. And I love seeing you guys simp over Lust the whole show thus far, only for you to be horrified by her in death as she dies completely undesired. Talk about a good twist of your emotions there.
Pretty sure Mustang makes the areas he hits hydrogen gas to ignite the air better when he snaps. So Lust DID give him materials he could work with for transmutation.
Al makes the same pact as Ed because ultimately both aren’t trying to reverse their taboo for themselves but their brother. Al wants Ed to be back, and Ed wants Al back. (At least to a point.) And I love that Winry gives the same vibe as Al gave to Ed when Scar defeated them. Maybe accepting death is bad, but looking for a situation that can cause it is equally stupid.
And Hohenheim has arrived. I’d say he is judging you, but let’s be honest. He already finished judging you. You have been judged.
You technically could kill a homunculus with bullets, they do need some energy to heal the hole, it would just take a whole lot.
Mustang's flame alchemy works the other way around; he alters the oxygen concentration in the air, and then uses the spark gloves to ignite it. But since he was working with water, he could pull the oxygen from it and generate hydrogen.
The Philosopher Stone is an amalgamation of humans which are required for the sacrifice to make it. And each soul is used to heal a Homunculus's body by burning the souls as if it were a fuel resource.
I wish we had more of lust for Montana to simp over.
Ahh...the episode people used in memes in the early days of Korra to say that Asami's mom was killed by a firebender.
Foreshadow when Lust speaks about Mustang's Eyes
"Dad comes back from being literally the worst and changes. I dont believe that."
One of the biggest anime tropes tho lol
I watched a lot of anime and I can't remember a single example of this trope (except maybe Gon's dad, but no one thought he was bad before). Mostly because they're usually not there or just background characters.
Homunculi don't have a achilleas heel. the stone just expends its energy and they die. how that actually works out is never explained but, their regeneration is a big factor.
I beileve they had an entire team of such specialists working on the anime Keijo.
The Voice acting in this episode is phenomenal, especially from Laura Bailey (Lust) - those screams were so raw
Fun fact: Roy and Lust's voice actors are married.
I have a weird idea, their kid during show and tell at school bringing a video they describe as the time daddy set mommy on fire.
14:34 Tell me you didn't watch the video without telling me you didn't watch the video
@@RunninWithMos This is a thing that has to be said once in the comments for every react of this episode, its a meme. But then again so is what you said.
Oh really?!
Another Fun fact: Roys and Mustangs voice actors are married too
Ed Blaylock (Bradley's voice actor) is also the dub voice actor of the Stohess Mayor in AoT
I loved lust in this series but there's another Fullmetal alchemist anime series where lust had a completely different backstory which I loved
I believe the VA's of Mustang and Lust got married 2 years to the date after this episode came out
One of the things I really appreciate about this episode is that its the first real look we get at how Mustang was during his time in Ishvall.
Thats what he was doing, on a daily basis, likely hitting many innocent civilians in the process.
Mustang was the state alchemist equivalent to the white phosphorus weapons of the US in Vietnam
How I'd wish Reiko Kobayakawa is the one who played Lust in the FMA movie she is exatcly looked like her in the anime 😍
I know you guys probably already have a few shows already lined up for when you finish fma and arcane. But if you could look into snow white with the red hair that would be amazing. The animation is stunning and the romance is adorable
One of the best scenes in the show
The reaction to the tattoo and Lust's 'attributes' was hilarious! 😆
Also quck note since Ed already said it: Philosopher's Stones are perfect matter. They are not supposed to break or shatter. They can only run out of energy and disintegrate as seen a few times already.
wrong they are vulnerable to any weakness that the form it takes has
@@houseofaction Please elaborate. What would Marcoh's liquid stone be vulnerable to, for example? Could it evaporate? I'm curious.
You're still weeks away from finishing Arcane, but when you do, I'm hoping you'll pick Owl House as your next Animated Series Reaction.
Trust me; after the emotional and psychological ROLLER COASTER that is Arcane, Owl House is the light, slice-of-life show you'll be looking for.
I like Owl House, but sadly it was cancelled way too early. Whatever 3 episode special they have coming won't give the series the ending it deserves
@@mushymush223 Not exactly "canceled", just shortened.
Edit: I have faith that Dana and her crew will give us a satisfying ending. They went OFF in season 2 in terms of quality.
I am almost sure The Owl House will be their next show. It's been suggested for months now and it's usually the one they first say when asked what show will come after Arcane.
They mentioned doing Invincible next which I'd be all for.
@@GamerGrovyle That wasn't a confirmed decision; it's just another option.
9:00 I want to know what Hiromu Arakawa was thinking
You may hear some people claim that Travis was shaken pretty bad by hearing his wife shrieking like that. These rumors aren’t true, they had just started dating at the time and they both thought it was hilarious.
This was the episode I realized Brotherhood was reaching for a higher level. Greed's death wasn't unexpected and it mattered a lot more in 03 with Ed trying to save him, but then Brotherhood killed freaking Lust! 🤯
By the way, best discussion break ever from you guys. 😂
Love the quick dog fan cam lol
Both the Japanese dub and the English dub for this show are great in their own respects, but this is one of the episodes where the English cast outshines the Japanese dub. Al’s speech, and Lust’s pain are just so much more intense from their actors respectively.
Well said! 1000%
I mentioned it earlier in the “Beasts of Dublith” episode, but homunculi live as long as the number of souls contained inside the stone
Ive been waiting for you to reach to Ep 19 and 20, this is a great chunk of episodes and the political thriller this show develops is amazing as it escalates and tangle with Al and Ed storyline. This episode also give a great showcase of 2 things: How a force is Mustang with his alchemy and WHY he is considered a hero (altough his past actions are a thing to debate) and the noble and pure soul of Al, putting his life on the line to protect Hawkeye.
I think this is as far as I have watched. I'm excited to finally continue it in tandem with the reaction.
