Suraj: "How can anyone kill any of them???"
Lust: "You killed me"
TIMING
Blue Goose has o l
I love how Al immediately knew what was coming when he saw Mustang and immediately put up a wall.
He heard Mustang's tone of voice and his "Oh shit" sensors went crazy.
I love Hawkeye's reaction too, it's just pure shock
12:10
“I think she loves Mustang.”
I dunno, man, hard to tell.
Her desperation in that scene and how she completely breaks down afterwards gets me every time😭😭
"I like that guy"
*gets stabbed by lust*
"I liked that guy"
*mustang gets stabbed by lust*
"I liked mustang too"
Well then...
Ianne 207 XD
"How can anyone kill any of them?"
"....you killed me."
That timing.
Obligatory "Lusts and Mustangs Voice Actors are actually married" comment.
Obligatory "FMA's mangaka is a woman" comment
Wait, what? I didnt know that. Huh...
Tenebi Centurion only the english voice actors not the japanese version.
Well come on Laura and Travis are like VA royalty at this point
They were not married at the time of the dub.
Loved Al's resolve to stay and protect Riza no matter what.
Mustang incinerating Lust to death never gets old! The visuals, the music, just everything was spot-on!
Also, little fun fact if you didn't already know, but Mustang and Lust's VAs are married in real life!
I agree Lalisa, that was a strong moment. It was hard for me to pick moments to cut from this reaction. Hoping to upload a higher quality version of this reaction soon.
The Normies No worries! The editing was spot-on as usual imo. I'm glad you guys are enjoying the show more and more now and thank you for working hard to give us these reactions. We greatly appreciate it!
Two better on the actors being married: first, they were cast in the roles for the FMA 2003 series, BEFORE they got together; second, at the time they were recording FMAB they were engaged. The dub writers knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they used that dialogue for Roy and Lust's interactions...
Alphonse is tired of having so much pain in his life....Ed too but Al is more demostrative....the horror of Nina's case and the murder of Huges was a scar to big for his hearts....i love how real are their feelings, Hiromu Arakawa is a genius
Really I did not know so in a way he incinerated his wife to death
The relationship between Mustang und Riza was so beautiful portrayed this episode ^_^
Al seeing Mustang: Oh shit he's pissed! Wall Time!
The phone call opening was a flashback to Mustang's realization that the last time someone called him, then it went silent and he heard gunfire, he lost a friend, Hughes.
Azure Balmung these are the subtleties one misses when one binge watches a show
I love how Mustang had one single chance to carve a perfect circle into the back of his hand, and just did it. While bleeding to death. And he's seen writing with that hand later on, so that means he used his off- hand
John Cribati That dude is just the epitome of _badassery_ .
Gotta say, I started watching FMAB because of Mustang, stayed for him and now have to rewatch the entire thing because of him. Agh, how can one character be as amazing as he is?!
less badassery and more plot convenience
without the proper tools, which he didn't have, cutting a perfect circle into your hand is impossible, due to the skin's different ratio of elasticity in different directions
@@XpVersusVista he needed a knife of some kind. Hughes carried a knife when Lust attacked him. It’s not that out there to assume Roy had one too.
@@XpVersusVista he and Havoc are both military officers, it's pretty safe to assume one of them had a knife on them
@@BreezeFlare on top of that, Havok is a weapons specialist, so it's highly likely he had a knife on him
Lust: Father I dont feel so good......
idk if i wanna laugh or cry
Its not good out of context.
One of the best episodes of the earliest third of FMAB! This is so much fun to watch! Loved the reaction, especially Chris at the end hahaha!!
Semblance of Sanity I love seeing other youtubers comments on other channels I love.
The Bros are everywhere
I love all you guys. One day we need a reactors infinity war where every dope reactor does a massive group reaction
oh shit its the jojo guys
Holy shit, I’ve been following your channel since 3k subs and I never found this comment. You guys do amazing content, thanks for all the enjoyment you’ve brought people!
“I look forward to the day when those eyes will be wide with agony”.
It’s coming, it’s coming...
The promise day
The foreshadowing
Hehe, didn’t realize how ironic that line was told to Mustang until later in the show.
I love that Al instantly knew to put up the wall just by hearing Roy's voice
Yep... Lust is pretty... *_Hot_*
Great reaction! Mustang is such a badass. Man literally carved a transmutation circle into his hand, seared his own fatal wound closed, and roasted Lust into a pile of ash...
I started watching this series along with you guys and just finished the finale yesterday! Such a great show! :D
Mustang was SO AMAZING in that scene. I had to find a way to cut as little of that out as possible! Glad we got you to start this series it is becoming one of my favorites!
I almost envy you man, I wish I could experience this series for the first time again
Mustang blew the entire room up and it didn't destroy Lust's stone. So shooting jt wouldn't have done much better. Remember, the Philosopher's Stone doesn't just exist in the form of a solid stone, it can take multiple forms.
SnowyWolborg
It's the fact that the stone is made up of so many souls and holds so much power- mustang blowing up the room didn't do enough damage, but in his last attack he constantly set Lust on fire and wore the stone down until it ran out of energy.
Also, like Ed said in episode 3, "it's supposed to be a perfect material". Crushing or shattering it wouldn't work. The only way to destroy it is to make it run out of energy.
"Al, just punch her out and run!"
Did you not see what happened when Barry tried that? xD
Can we just appreciate how great Hawkeyes reaction to hearing about Mustangs "death" was?
Absolute rage followed by utter desperation😥
Man if that doesn't tell you everything about how much she cares for him I don't know what will.
And here's something really crazy when you mention Hughes: when he threw the knife at Lust in episode ten, he ended up saving Roy's life, even after his passing.
I'm not quite getting the connection there.
LdKinbote A knife to the head used up one of the souls in Lust's stone. Lust was super close to stabbing Mustang in face when she died, if she had one more soul she could've killed him.
Every single bit of damage that Lust healed from before her death, sped up the inevitable. Think of her healing less like a passive, and more like an auto-Potion, with a LOT OF POTIONS. That knife's damage? Could have been the split second difference before that last attack reaching Mustang.
LdKinbote he’s saying Hughes used up one of Lust’s lives, if he hadn’t, then Lust’s spikes would’ve reached Mustang. But that can’t really be proven either way to my knowledge.
🤯 dude I never thought of that.
Roy burning the living hell out of Lust is one of my favorite anime moments ever.
Hohenheim
Harrenhal* =')
Theophrastus Bombastus Van Hohenheim
Paracelsus ;)
Homenhime. Horenhiem. Kormemkime. Turpentine. Hormonetime. Nailed it.
Just call him Mr. Ho ;)
I suspect the body was just attracted to the soul, maybe wanted it back but being too stupid to realize scratching the symbol he'd die.
No it's not how it is. Barry's body wants to get hist "rest" but he will never get that "rest" when his souls is still on Earth.
Elicia is Hughes's daughter, Nina was the Sewing Life Alchemist's daughter
somethingawful100 tucker
The punishment for lust in Dante's purgatory was to walk through a torm of fire untill they got clensed. I love the allusions in this show soooo much!
Alphonse doesn't know bradley is a homunculus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alphonse usually takes a back seat to his brother, but I love him in this episode. First, there's his interaction with Winry, when he promises that he'll be back to see her again. Then, there's him protecting Riza and telling her not to give up on life as he reminds Lust that he is, in fact, a 7-foot-tall suit of armor than can do alchemy. Plus, he gets Roy caught up on what a homunculus is.
Another good touch that shows how adaptive the crew is, without a word of coordination they're able to use chasing Barry as an excuse to get through the military people there.
god i will never get tired of this episode and seeing reactions to it. Mustang is an ultimate badass and one of the coolest anime characters
The end of Barry the Chopper usually goes over everybody's head, but its suppose to make you a little scared. When Barry's body scatched out his seal Barry and his body both died.
So if someone were to put a scratch on Alfonse's seal......
Shit I never thought abt it
This was the episode that convinced me this series was going to be different from the first one. Laura Bailey did an amazing job on her death scene.
That lukewarm dancing to the new OP is great. You tried.
Fun fact: Mustang and Lust's voice actors are married IRL :P
Azure Balmung And they're both super goddamn adorable. lol
Critical Role Hype!!!
Upvote for them to see!
Guess he must've have really got her on her knees at some point. ;)
Hohenheim also get hype for the things that come this episode was the start of some dope shit for me. Not saying it hasn’t been phenomenal so far.
Fun Fact: Travis Willingham, the voice of Roy Mustang, and Laura Bailey, the voice of Lust, are both married in real life. And on their wedding anniversary one of them posted a video of Lust's death here on the other's Facebook.
The voice actors for Colonel Mustang and Lust are married. How amazing is that?
Naughty Bottom pretty amazing
*LOOKS LIKE I CAN GET YOU ON YOUR KNEES AFTER ALL*
kek
the american dub?
Maka Albarn is married to an immortal werewolf.
Danny Hulliung
OOF
You guys are amazing!
This is one of my fav episode in the entire series!
As much as I love this episode, I do find it unfortunate that Lust is the only human-intelligence homunculus that doesn't receive any development. Hell, Gluttony has more of a character arc than she does.
GermansLikeBeer her arc in the 2003 Anime was great
Muad'dib2288 I disagree her character arc made no sense in 03, and I did watch the 03 then brotherhood. Plus the whole equal vial exchange made no sense. In the 03 the brothers human transmutation worked sorta, the thing that they created became a homunculus, and since it was alive and well, they should have gotten their bodies back.
I've been waiting for you guys to react to this episode since I heard you started the series. Its so good watching Colonel go so hard. He does NOT fuck around.
Thank you for the reaction. I was really looking forward to your reactions to this episode. You guys were great :)
In some ways, the Homunculi are similar to horrcruxes. Definitely not the same, but that's the beginning of the right track. More will be explained about them later.
16:34 Sneaky Navi being sneaky through the entire episode
Rafael Reyes she doesn't know shit about this Hoenhein though. and I am excited. This Hoenhein is a far superior character to Hoenhein of Light
Yes!!, I was waiting for this episode, one of my favorites and very eventful. It really takes us for a roller coaster
Great reactions and you're only 19 in! Ohhhh these are so much fun to watch, so many great episodes coming up soon.
AGH, one of the best episodes in the first third of the show!
So much amazing animation, music storytelling and more! Not to mention the scene of Hohenheim at the end is just magnificent. Never gets old!
So much hype for more!
Such. A. Great. Show. And it only gets better.
This is such a great series, many great moments but a few really great ones to see reactions on. This is one, and the episode with the phone booth of doom is one.
Think it's less that the body wanted to die and more that it was like a moth to the flame. It was animalistic and was intrinsically drawn to the soul, that's why it was caressing Barry's seal. It was most likely an accident that it broke the seal.
One of my favorite episodes! I have been waiting for you guys to see it...
So badass... 😊
Chris's reaction at the end was literally perfect.
I been waiting for this episode for months!! best reaction.
Great reactions all of you are fun to watch!!!!
I interpreted the thing with Barry the Chopper that his body wanted to reunite with his soul. However with an animal spirit inside of him he had no idea of the consequences of rubbing against the seal, which would be the source of the 'scent' it was following to find Barry.
Definitely in my top 5 episodes of the entire series. And hands down the best voice acting in any episode. Laura Bailey deserved an award.
And of course as everyone knows Lust's voice actor is married to Mustang's voice actor. And they just had their first cute little baby too!
Btw, Parcelsus Von Hohenheim was a real person who tried to make alchemy work (of course it didn't)
Lust: “YOUUUU KILLLLLED MEEEEE...”
Mustang: “ *G* *O* *O* *D* .”
A philosopher's stone is a collection of souls, it could only be destroyed when the souls run out or there is only one left so shooting the stone itself wouldn't help. Rather than the homunculi having regeneration, it would be more accurate to say that they have many lives that the stone uses up whenever they are "Killed".
Okay, I most wanted Navi to see this episode because Lust's death is a major deviation from the 2003 FMA - which in turn throws a lot of other expected similarities out. Now she's prob quite blind as to what can happen.
Thanks for picking up on the royai ^^
I love Alphonse so much in this episode 'u'
I can't wait for you guys to get to OP4, aka the best opening after Again. ALSO, WHAT A REACTION. AND SAME CHRIS SAME.
"How can anyone kill any of them????" half a second later "You killed me.." lmao
Till the day those eyes will be filled with agony - Lust
Damn, I can't either lol
Man, this episode really went up in flames...
Chris is the man. If I ever happen to meet him, I’m buying that man a beer.
Instant like even though I haven't watched their reaction yet!
I am looking forward for your reactions in the last 4 episodes.
Here comes the fiyahhhhh!
Did Chris and Marketa switch bodies?
Navi you’re peeking? Tut tut
Ling Yao, his watchdog Fu helped Maria Ross get to Xing while Lan Fan stuck with Ling
You forgot about Hawkeye and Gluttony
Please, this song trounces on Naruto intros
You only just noticed that!?
Black Hayate in for the save, then Mustang for the finish...ish
Havoc, come on guys, all the military guys are named after military craft
Barry the CHOPPER, we had that problem with Blind Wave
They don’t know about Bradley being with them, only Greed saw the eye
Ouch Havoc, you weren’t alert
So many people we like huh?
Doesn’t matter if it’s metal, the seal wears out
Barry - who loved decapitating people - gets decapitated
Shooting the stone will not work, usually the stone has to wear out
The music though
And back with Mustang!
Drew? He carved it into his hand Navi
Lust is officially gone, death of the undying, killed by Mustang protecting his Hawkeye
And poor Barry, the killer killed himself
It was crazy then, BUT THEN! Hohenheim
Ho hen heim, Navi it was the same name as 03
Is Havoc dead? Hmmmm...
Barry’s death was accidental I think, it was stroking the seal
Homunculi are created with the stone - which has multiple souls - created from Father’s sins. It is kinda like Horcruxes
She is Lust guys, she’ll use it to her advantage
Nina was Tucker’s daughter, Martel is the snake girl and Elicia is Hughes’ daughter
Barry and Al’s circles are essentially anchors for their souls
Ed believed that it could be done but was missing something, wishing to see more but couldn’t for the toll he paid.
The glove’s fabric does make a spark when friction is caused
No no, the stone is their heart, the tattoos are just random places
I swear you’re saying Hohenheim wrong on purpose now...
Philosopher stone is undestructable it is mentioned in FMA episode 1
In retrospect, it makes sense that Lust would be the weakest of the seven sins; Father wasn't exactly a ladies man.
This is a fan favorite episode for a reason.
You guys'll get use to the song and then just be surprised that a new intro song comes up 😁
"I look forward to the day when those eyes will be wide with agony."
_Van Hohenheim,_ named after the real life physician, alchemist, astrologer, pioneer of the _"medical revolution"_ of the Renaissance, and _"father of toxicology"_ Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim, also known as Paracelsus.
After you finish the series (because of spoilers) you should check out the Film Theorists video on the value of a human soul in FMAB. It's real damn good.
Blanket goals!
The stone is unbreakable. It will only break when the souls inside it run out. So the only way to kill a homuculous is to kill them enough times that they run out of souls to regenerate with
I love how all the top comments are from 1 month ago. :)
Great reaction though
The stone is a pure element. It can't be broken. It will only dissapear when fully used.
from now on it just gets better
I love bother versions of the serious so much BUT I will say, I loved the origin of the Homunculus and how they killed them in the original series.
I understand that you are busy, I'd be happy to update it with a little shorter interval.
2:24 You are now my FAVORITE person on this channel. :D
I LOVE Chris's shirt!!
Mustang can keep creating fire as long as he has the energy to snap his fingers,or strike the flint of a lighter, just like how Ed can keep reshaping earth as long as he has earth to reshape. FMA doesn't use MP for it's magic system.
the name of edward and al's dad is Van Hohenheim the last name people call him is pronounced HO-IN-HEIM
You can't destroy philosopher stone with physical attacks. It's a perfect material, it can withstand anything you can throw at it. The only way to destroy it is to use it up or through very advanced alchemy techniques.
The mind connects the body to the soul
Best lines from villains are definitely here in FMA. Geez Greed had a great ending now Lust. Its awesome
I just realized it's Nico touches the wall who's doing OP2
*Patiently waits for episode 40*
You get a fucking whole month of early access if you're a patron? How far in the series are they in real time?
Fantastic reaction all around (on one of the best episodes around), but Chris gets MVP. Absolutely howling at the end.
When you get to episode 27 come back and watch this episode with what you guys said at the end of the episode
"WHO THE FUCK?!?....*realizes who it is*....Kill him" 😂😂😂😂 Amazing
We don't know if Al's body exists anymore.
Aw, you skipped the best part... Riza chewing Mustang out 😂
So basically the homunculi are those bosses with 8000hp but your weapon only does 100 damage
so, do you watch FMA2003?
I'm waiting for your reaction.
14:12
Guy:How can anyone kill them?!?!
Lust:You killed me
