    1. Saw that there's some new Sara Niemietz on PMJ.
    2. Dropped what I'm doing during a busy day at work to listen.

    5. Listened a second time.

Not saying its not a really good performance but she's not living it, shes acting it, musicians are taught to sing (project) outwards with their body language for the audiance rather than inward like you or I may sing it. I really like PMJ but I do find some of their singers a little too cabaret

I’ve always noticed the lyrics to Want You To Want me were so much deeper and more heartfelt than people realized due to the song’s upbeat, pop tune. If you slow it down you can tell it’s actually a heartfelt love song, this cover accentuated that so perfectly.

FINALLY, they gave Sara the right song, and outfitted her in the right dress - and... MAGNIFICO !!!!
Outstanding, little Sara. EFFING OUTSTANDING !!! You blew me away !!! And you made me smile.
Oh, and for the record... I would beg and beg and beg. (And I hated this song when Cheap Trick sang it... but have reconsidered... since I've heard Sara sing it)
LOL... she was one of my most favorite PMJ stars 3 years ago... but she never quite "found her groove"... but now she has.
I feel like a proud parent who has watched a child mature... (or a kitten grow up into a fierce cat).
I am SOOOO happy that she is brave/courageous, uninhibited enough to "let it all hang out" and PERFORM.
I am a professor... my knees shook for the first year... terrified to enter a classroom and face the audience... then realized that they were paying ME to show up and share my gifts with them... and then it took me a while to process that, internalize it... and then I "opened up" and blew everyone away... just like this goddess just did. Hence my metaphorical comments.
I am very pleased - she is both ear candy and eye candy... I JUST LOVE her voice, motions, and nuances.
Her "knee shaking" insecurity is now in the past... (I'm teary eyed, but smiling) ... can't wait to see/hear what she achieves from this point on... YOU GO, GIRL !!!

I heard the original version of this song as a young man and it was accurate and correct. This version expands the depth of emotion and true meaning what it is like to want the one you love most in the world to feel the same way about you and it is wholly accurate and correct for me now. This arrangement and the performance are gifts. Thank you.

I literally let out a "squee!" of happiness when I saw the video title. One of my favorite songs of all time, in one of my favorite styles, by my favorite PMJ singer. My day has been made. Sara, you knocked the vocal out of the park (and refreshed the silly internet crush I have on you), and the band was great as usual. I particularly enjoyed your featured lead run, Scott. Kudos all around.

They took an upbeat, cutesy, somewhat shallow bubblegum pop song and turned it into a soulful, beautiful, heartbreaking love song. What.
edit: alright people i keep getting replies from fans telling me off for dissing cheap trick 😂 lol i wrote this 3 years ago and honestly I don't even remember writing it or what I was thinking at the time but i got the message you can all stop now 😅

@@DeborahJonesMusic Scott Bradlee (arranger / producer / pianist on this video) is well known for being strongly and vocally (no pun intended) against auto-tune and other pitch correction or shifting methods. I will agree with you that some effects, probably reverb and compression, have been added.
