To me the original is better because you can feel the intensity of this moment, and i felt that neither held anything back. But because of the update one, it makes it sound as Illiden just was carless.
Makes it look like anime fight, opposed to struggle for life. I really wish they would keep that feeling in remaster, because otherwise it's incredible.
I think it's because of a retcon that we got at some point I might be mistaken but I remember somewhere that illidan indeed didn't take arthas seriously and if he did he most likely would have won so I guess they changed the cinematic to match the new lore
Wdym "cheated"? They literally said that they wouldn't remaster the cinematics - only upscale them. There's nothing cheaty in that. It was part of the announcement.
The other cutscenes that were meant to be redone like this should still make it into game. They could remaster like 1-2 main cutscens per campaign like this one and it would be great
@@FireSignd When they started Warcraft 3 Reforged, they promised remade cinematics and more cinematics, more content, and what did they do? none of that. Its one of the reasons WarCraft 3 Reforged was one of the most disliked games of all times. they failed to bring what they promised thanks to the CEO.
Yea as much as I like the original, it always felt a bit short. The newer one is good the models do look rigid sometimes, but the shots and choreography was good
I remember when shadowlands was announced and Arthas teased in afterlives and we all thought we would save Arthas soul and bring him redemption or at least have him talk with Jaina uther and everyone before passing on. Good times, before the anima fart.
The whole plot point was unnecessary it would have been fine to end his story when it it ended in the first place. If they were gonna bring him back what they did was not it.
I agree, somehow seeing Arthas disperse as an anima fart after monologue by sylvanas hurt more than seeing him fall in ICC, Frostmourne shattered and held in the arms of his father’s ghost
When they announced Refunded, I thought they would remake the cinematic so that they would be on par with the ones we see in 7:02, but somehow we got the BS 1:11. Yea, the Refunded version is longer and adds a bit of depth to the fight, but I have seen fan made cinematic on YT with better quality than this.
Both are bad, this fight deserved full quality like those cinematics at the end of each campaign. Also, the two versions make no sense to me. First time, Illidan gets defeated while jumping when he has damn wings to fly. Reforged version, he uses Metamorfosis, and instead of using his powerful range attack, or at least his warglaives, he used his fucking hands.

Remarkable fight by two of best character of warcraft
I would've preferred if this was a complete HD cinematic like the trailers of WoW. Still feel cheated out of greatness

@ They never promised remade cinematics. Only ingame cutscenes - which, granted, didnt happen either.
I'm glad that remastered battle is longer now and more interesting

The old one looks a lot better.
If only arthas would be alive now. 😢
yeah it's a shame what blizzard did to him.
especially danuser because he is a bad writer hack and hacker.

Arrhas did not even have to be redeemed. They could have kept him as a ghost or something. They couldn't even do that!

I just want to bring Warcraft to life as a full theme park attraction and the world most interactive theme park ever created in the world
If that existed I'd be there every day 24/7 sleeping in a makeshift inn called the Goldshire suite sipping a murloc cup.
Choose your side Arthas or Illidan
Imagine for a moment if Illidan put the crown on his head
The Illidari King, The Demon King, The Sin King, something along those lines! Let them come, Azzinoth Hungers!
Through his horns?
