Thanks for a truly helpful video. It's the first one I found that describes the changes made by Bosch since I last installed one. 1) Water intake now in rear. Need a shorter supply line. 2) Separate power junction box required. (Just takes up space for no good reason.) 3) Rear leveling leg controlled by screw up front. Nice touch. 4) Drain hose comes pre-attached. Also got an idea on how to make my Bosch 300 even quieter by installing extra sound deadening in the toe plate area.
This video was such a huge help! Best Buy was supposed to install yesterday, but because the electric wasn't in the cabinet adjacent to the dishwasher (it was hardwired directly to the old dishwasher), they wouldn't install. I moved the electric over, and thanks to this video, installed it all myself. Thank you VERY much for the very helpful and user friendly video!
Sorry I wasn’t more clear. It’s obvious from this dishwasher install video, that you don’t have a garbage disposal installed under your sink. I tried to be humorous in my liking of your video by sarcastically saying that I see a garbage disposal install video in your future. Because you don’t have one and everybody’s got them, if you installed one you would make a video of it for us. Maybe not.
@@mbmb5803 okay, gotcha. Yeah, I don't know why, but my wife has never wanted a garbage disposal. But if that ever changes, I'll be sure to turn on the video camera! Thanks!
Thanks for including the part where you screw down the little tabs into the countertop. Because the really small diagram in the Bosch installation manual makes it look like they go in the opposite direction, I was totally confused until I saw your video at 16:07. Thanks!
Very interesting video. But above all congratulations to you, for the fact that in your RUclips channel, you talk about various topics, ranging from household appliances, to homes, to cars, to campervans. In my Toutube channel you can instead see my Philco washing machines, which I did regenerate. They are washing machines produced in Italy over 40 years ago. Still fully functional.
Great video! What size and length water line and 90° elbow did you end up going with? It may be in the installation instructions but I also bought my dishwasher at a discounted rate and the instructions were not included
Enjoyed watching. We are in the market for a new dishwasher. How do you like it? Worth the price? Is is really quiet and does it do a good job cleaning? Thanks!
Yes, best dishwasher ever and super quiet. Without the red led light shining on the floor, you wouldn't even know it was running! We got ours at an amazing discount; full price would have been out of our range. I have had other dishwashers which fit the dishes more to my liking, but I have adjusted okay to the new arrangement.
How did taping the soundproof on work out, we have a Bosch on order and thinking I should do that. Any problems in doing this with air flow or anything?
The Bosch dishwasher is so amazingly quiet that I don't think my additional "soundproofing" really made any real difference. We have been very happy with this dish machine!
Thanks so much! This greatly helped. We just purchased a bosch 300 series and hopefully all goes well. How do you all like the bosch so far? We have never purchased anything bosch, but were told(and read) that they have the fewest maintenance issues. I have read that the only down side to bosch dishwashers is the smaller inside size and they don’t dry your dishes very well like american dishwashers do. Love in Christ Jesus, mrs b
Thank you for the note. The thing we like best about the dishwasher is how QUIET it is!! Without that little red led light that shines on the floor we wouldn't even know the machine was running! Regarding inside capacity, I can't say I noticed it being any smaller than our previous one.... Good luck with yours!
I have a similar situation with the wiring. I wondering do you really feel it a good idea to put the box under the sink where water could be a possibility? That would me better for me but that didn't sound too safe. This would have been such an easy install if they hadn't done the junction box and insisted you use it.
Good question. I know what you mean. Nonetheless, the box provided for the wiring does appear to be water resistant for the most part. Additionally, that box gets mounted on the wall of the cabinet, so it's not like its sitting on the floor in a puddle of water. Finally, in my case, the dishwasher is fed off of the LOAD side of a GFI protected receptacle. So that is the best protection in the event of water intrusion. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the note. Glad you liked the video. I didn't have duct tape on hand, and I just went with the foil tape because it seemed like it would do a good job.
Good eye! I think I had forgotten to install the kickplate when I recorded the final testing segment. Then I went back and showed how to install the kickplate. So in reality, the kickplate install was the final segment that I recorded. You are to be commended for keen observation skills!
Buckwsr the only reason I paid any attention was because that’s the part giving me so much grief. The plate constantly gets stuck when the door is fully opened then closed.
@@rogueleader8129 Oh, ok. Well, that's kind of weird. I'm not sure what's going on there. The height of the dishwasher is adjustable, as you may have seen. Do you have the machine sitting high enough? Just a thought....
Yes, the "hidden" controls is a Bosch design. You simply enter your selection on the keypad, and the machine starts when you close the door completely.
To clarify: make sure the unit is on, press “Normal” and then “Start.” Close the dishwasher door. A solid red light should appear on the floor to indicate that it is working. Hope that helps! ~Mrs. Buck
wish I would have watched this earlier. All my other dishwashers have been plugged into an outlet. Now I need to direct wire it. Time to run a new wire :(
It comes with a direct plug-in connector if it's an 800 series. You only need the junction box if you don't have an outlet. (I know this comment is 3 years old, so you probably figured it out by now -- but for anyone watching this video now, like me, it's good to know that you don't have to hard-wire it).
Why wouldn't you connect the water lines and test for leaks before sliding the dishwasher in place? Also I don't see much sense taking the electrical from behind the dishwasher into the sink cabinet and back out again. Either place is just as liable to get exposed to water if there is a leak. I hope the hoses have improved on your Bosch compared to one I am repairing (SHE23R56UC/64) which are just friction fit connections with an "0" ring . No clamps! Total junk flimsy hoses and also the crap flimsy control panels break from opening and closing the door in the handle area. It does wash dishes well though but the build quality for such an expensive dishwasher is the pits. Shame on you Bosch. Nice neat job installing though!
My only guess is that they want to make the electrical connection box more accessible and not hidden behind the machine, so they tell you to mount it in the adjacent cabinet. I really don't know. As far as the other issues you've mentioned...so far we haven't had any problems, and the machine is still running just fine. Good luck.
Most dishwashers have electrical connections behind the kickplate at the front of the dishwasher. Much easier than crawling under the sink. Sometimes things are changed for the better, sometimes for the worse. Appliance designers should ask the people who service, install and use their products for input. They might come up with the perfect machine! Have a great day.
The junction box needs to be in an adjacent cabinet because according to NEC the junction needs to be accessible. Why Bosch chose to design their dishwashers without the junction in front behind the kickplate is anybody's guess. Kudos to Buckwar for showing the correct way to do this. Other videos have it mounted behind the dishwasher or under the cabinet.
@@samjg1 thanks for the context on why the box is supposed to be mounted in the sink cabinet. I just ordered a Bosch dishwasher and am trying to figure out all the potential issues for the installation.
