    Had to give this a like due to your level of detail. Thank you for being OCD (that's me) and thoroughly explaining everything - especially why it is important to have that high loop for the drainage hose. My old dishwasher did not have that high loop and when I disconnected it 2 things happened: I could immediately smell the old, stinky, nasty water that had accumulated in the hose for years and that same nasty water came flowing out onto my floor since the hose was at a lower point than the sink connection. Many people don't have the patience to watch a video this long, but it takes this long to cover everything that is needed, especially considering that there are differences between the Bosch models. So many videos leave out crucial parts for newbies on a Bosch install. Mine has a kickplate that requires installing the metal brackets, but I got that from another video (I know you couldn't literally cover EVERYTHING that each model has, though you showed the brackets at the start). Thanks so much!!!

    Great video! Yes, there might be more polished videos out there, but to be honest, those make everything look like nobody every has any problems or challenges in getting the job done. Doing this in real-time, unedited, allows us to get a feel for how to really do it in the real world! Good attention to detail, and even though I knew how to do this already, you gave some great reminders on what to prep for before you start... you saved me a trip or two to a hardware store in the middle of a job, which is never as time-efficient as having everything ready before you start! O.K.! The most complete Bosch dishwasher install viddie on Internet. I figured I could do the job since it wasn't a new install, but this viddie (what is the presenters name?) helped me relax. Mostly. I bought a lower end unit, series 100. So FYI for the low end folks. The first issue was that the unit didn't come with the water connection pieces, just the drain hose and the power cord. The delivery guys had been down the road before apparently and gave me a universal install kit from the "bone yard" in their truck. All was fine until the final positioning/levelling. I assumed my unit had the very handy rear leg levelling screw in the front of the unit that was in the viddie. Nope. Not on this low end unit. So the factory instructions have you moving the unit in and back out to get that back leg where it needed to be. They make you pretty nervous about being careful with the lines and not stressing connectors etc., but still require that you do it a time or two more. I was also uncomfortable yanking that brand new unit around. After stressing over all that I finally got it square and level........................... But missed hooking up the securing anchors on the unit. Forget it. I wasn't going to pull the unit out again to install them so I made some shims and put them at the top of the unit under my counter top to secure it in place. Right or wrong.

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  Год назад

      Wow thanks for sharing! Considering you have to frequently open and close the dishwasher, the shims may not last too long. However, it will give you an opportunity to go back to it when you’re ready to add the mounting brackets. Thanks for watching!

    Bosch now does this in all countries; they provide the appropriate connection cable, which just needs to be plugged in.
    For countries without sockets, there is the option of hard wiring.
    The water supply line turns off the water when it is not needed. In Europe we call this Aquastop.
    10:40 Always turn the Teflon tape clockwise. But there is already a seal in there, you don't need any Teflon tape.

      The 90degree brackets snap into the kick panel substrate on the washer. There’s a screw that holds them into place. These brackets are what the metal kick panel screws to.

    Great video. Thanks. I’m replacing an 8 year old Samsung dishwasher with a new Bosch. Should I just use the same old braded metal supply line and just get that 90° adapter that makes it a 3/4” connector, or should supply lines be replaced when you get a new dishwasher? Thanks.

      Thank you for the kind words and yes I would recommend replacing the supply line on a 8 year old dishwasher. They aren't very expensive and definitely always better safe than sorry.

    When attaching the mounting brackets the installation instructions say to grasp the bracket with pliers and fold at the perforation over onto itself instead of cutting off the part that would stick out. A lot smoother edge and no cutting needed.

    • @TheAppliancePlug

      Yes, I agree with you the edges would be smoother, but I am so use to cutting the brackets because it's how I have always done it. But technically, your way works wonders!

    I have a Bosch dishwasher and the kick plate also includes a rubber apron. Do you have any videos that show how the apron gets attached to the bottom of the dishwasher and the kick plate? I took it off and ordered a new one but forgot to take a picture of it before I removed it so now I can't remember how it goes back together!!

    Mike, quick question, I am looking to replace a double lower cabinet for a single and add a Bosch dishwasher. In the measurements, there will be a 1/2 inch gap. Should I be concerned about it or is it a benefit to slide it in and the rubber things will take care of it?

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  Год назад

      1/2” gap shouldn’t be noticed or make much difference at all. The rubber fillers should cover the gaps. Good luck!

    Thanks for the video. I will be installing my 1st dishwasher, next week. Bosch SHE3AR76UC. It is part of the 100 series (Ascenta).
    Your video shows the power cord connection, for both, plug into the back of the Bosch. One has a wall plug to plug into an AC outlet under the sink. I have an AC outlet under my sink. The other Bosch you showed needs the junction box cord for installations w/o an AC outlet.
    I’m getting conflicting information re the correct Bosch power cord needed for this model. The store where I bought it does not seem to know!
    Q&A on one store website has a reply from BoschAppliancesUSA that says: “…thank you for your question and interest in Model #SHE3AR75UC. Yes, this Dishwasher includes a Power cord with a 3-prong plug.”
    I emailed Bosch to confirm this & they replied: “In regards to your inquiry, this model is supplied with a terminal block for the power supply. If you would like the regular power cord that plugs into the wall, that is sold as an accessory.”
    I wonder if my model does NOT have the plug into the back of the Bosch connector. I may need to wire 3 wires into a Bosch electrical box on the dishwasher itself. The other end can plug into my wall AC outlet.
    So, I think I need to buy a power cord with a 3 prong plug at one end & 3 bare wires at the other. Also I would need a conduit to attach to the Bosch electrical box to take strain off the wires.
    Are you able to explain the power cord needed for the Bosch Model #SHE3AR75UC?
    I also asked 2 other stores selling this model & the appliance salespeople had no idea!
    Thanks!

    Truly Would appreciate to know if there are sensitivity issues for some people on the felt covering and exposed sides and top version of the open top Serie 6 Silence Plus SMU6-01A models viz a viz the fully covered free standing stainless steel model of the similar name SMS-101A?? A very good demonstration and thanks for noting the height of the hose to preventing backflow. As well as pinning the above comment as the water in the old machine did the same thing to the installer who did ours. I just think he didn't have the training to know and advise in advance as you do here. In this videotechnicalities are easily explained. Thumbs up🙂

    Excellent overview, thank you. I await delivery of my 300 series Bosch and have one concern about the water connection when it arrives. I know that Bosch sells the copper L connector at the base as part of a kit, the kit including the braided supply line. I already have the braided supply line. I suspect I might need to buy the copper L piece. Can I buy that as a standard item at the hardware store? If so, what size is the large end? Seems pretty cheap of Bosch not to include the connector for such an expensive machine. Thanks again.

      Hello, thank you. Check out this link for accessories: linktr.ee/theapplianceplug
      If you’re missing hardware that comes with the dishwasher or not shown in the link above, you can order from an appliance parts retailer or possibly directly from Bosch providing the model number of your dishwasher. If you need the hardware, I can see if the supplier I deal with has it in stock. Provide me with the model number of your unit and specifically what you would like to order. Good luck!

    Thank you for the video! We had our Bosch installed for us but There is a black rubber flap that goes in front of the dishwasher. I believe it is supposed to be tucked behind the kick plate. It keeps falling out and we can’t make it stay. I’m not sure what it does, but it now has tears in several places.
    Do you think it would be okay if we just cut that off? Thanks for your advice!

    This is so helpful. But the level adjusters on our base are SO difficult to turn with a screwdriver. Any advice on how to turn them because our dishwasher is tilting forward too much. They’re at the point where the plastic is completely damaged from our attempts.
