This version isn’t as hard as the OG. You’re racing in 50CC, there’s no super thwomps where not only are obstacles but lose control when making contact, and the game mechanic seems more stable
The inclusion SNES tracks in super circuit really do feel like an afterthought, but I'd assume they inspired the Retro Cups that we got in later games so I can't be too hard on them.
MKSC Drifting Physics > SMK Drifting physics. When people says that Super Circuit's Controls are garbage means that they don't know how to drift... Drifting is the key to success in this game.
Yeah I loved that they put the whole SNES library of tracks on the GBA, but I was disappointed that the thwomps were missing in Boswer Castle and Rainbow Road...The thwomps were a majority of the challenge on those tracks.
..seeing this ticks me off. no matter how hard I try, I never make those U turns without either slowing down or drifting. and it also ticks me off because I recently had the pleasure of realizing how much easier this is than the original version of the track. nice job in the race, takes skill to only fall off twice (no joke, no sarcasm, the corners are tough). Also, to avoid confusion: you must collect 100 coins in a single cup to unlock the corresponding extra cup, and each cc class is seperate
I like that they return SNES Rainbow Road on Super Circuit & Mario Kart 7, but I prefer playing SNES Rainbow Road on Super Mario Kart, since it's more tougher to beat.
@viejos1000 I was really excited they did SNES rainbow road for Mario Kart 7/ I hope they eventually do downloadble tracks and release more of the classics, but thats just dreamin'
I love this game, but the controls are absolutely horrible! They are so loose that you can't steer properly, and I have no idea why. They definitely made the steering controls better for both Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart 7. Does anyone know why the steering controls are so loose in this game? I enjoy this game a lot, but I tend to do horribly due to the loose steering controls. What can I do to make it easier on myself?
Super Mario Kart for the SNES had similar controls. The engine for the game wasn't perfect, so the controls are a bit wonky. They get better as time goes on since the engine is improved.
BigAlvideos101 That's probably because Intelligent Systems (Paper Mario and Fire Emblem devs) made the game. I immediately found out because of the Mousers in turbans, Bowser's Castle in the Sky of Rainbow Road, red shoe goombas and blue helmet hammer bros in the winning cup animation. I looked it up to make sure and I was right.
Probably because the game isn't 3D, rather a Mode 7 on steroids. That makes it difficult to work out controls when it's still technically a 2D game controlling in a 3D environment. It actually controls nicely if you know what to expect from a mode 7 game.
exCUSE me? You've never heard of the GAMEBOY ADVANCE have you? Oh? You have? THEN YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF MARIO KART CIRCUT! Dang, why does everyone forget about MKC...
If this exact replica of SNES Rainbow Road comes back as a custom track in Mario Kart Wii, I want this course to be upscaled by ×2.2 or 220% size for 24 players. Why? Because I love how small this SNES Rainbow Road is in comparison to the Kart racers. However, with more players on the loose, it would be a freaking huge nightmare (obviously i'm just exaggerating) to constantly bump into each other throughout da whole/entire race. So why did I choose a 2.2× size multiplier rather than 3.0× nor 300% size if, 24÷3=8? Because I used this formula 1+(3−1)×0.6 in order to keep the balance less simplified and more close to keeping GBA SNES Rainbow Road as small as it is in Super Circuit :)
i luv mario kart super circuit the only downside i find is that since this is for gameboy advance and the graphics arent perfect, it has a blinking effect when driving down the tracks giving me a headache thats just me if u dont have this problem then its the perfect game
For the time you commented this, you'd be correct. However, there are countless rehashes and literally half of them are remade courses, all of which are from Super, with no attempt to remake 64 tracks in 2D. It's pretty bad, actually.
it is? well just imagine, if after every coin you collect you keep going faster and faster, if you have like 30coins in 150cc, you're gonna go so fast, you can barely control yourself, they had to draw the line at some point
Actually the SNES remakes for SC aren't really considered retro tracks. They were only a bonus for the game. Mario Kart DS was the first Mario Kart game with official retro tracks. The first retro track you play is SNES Mario Circuit 1
@NodakJo2010 Cartridge memory was small back then to they had take ome things out to save memory and reuse the backgrounds from GBA only stages unlike Mario Kart 3DS which has DVD sized cartridges and all original backgrounds thwomps, obstacles and music is intact for retro stages.
It's weird how you could fall right over the edge but the AI always bounced like it had those side things from the other rainbow road..
Is it just me or does Luigi sound like Toad here?
You're not alone. 😕
***** it is his voice at the japanese version of mario kart 64
he sounds liek the inbetween
He sounds like a 10 y/o USA boy
Liu Kang*
Drifting is crucial
A suicidal decision
@@ouo8913 Its drift or go painfully slow as seen in the video. Plus there's no thwomp this time.

I recall being a 8 year old and had difficulty of turning and drifting...
Super Circuit was notably a little difficult than other games
Wait until you play Super Mario Kart.
i like this its the best music ever
It sounds Epic.
MKSC Drifting Physics > SMK Drifting physics.

0:38 is my favourite part of snes RAINBOW ROAD

Ahh, great memories.
its funny how mario luigi and peach go "bingo!" if they hit someone with a red shell and yoshi goes "whooah!" XD
Me too! It's one of my favorite tracks.
1:10 look at how 2nd place gets a significant speed boost. Cheating rubberbanding AI was so frustrating.
This game is more of a remake of the first game rather than a true Mario Kart
Teh Sweggy Koopa its not
Blue Shell opinions ;). Just for that I'll agree best in the series.
Swiggyswisscheese 77 No it's a fact, and its terrible
Blue You want terrible? Look at Mario Kart 64 if you want to see terrible.
No the extra is like... I DONT KNOW maybe handheld super Mario kart with different controls and characters (ps:it not a remake because it uses mode7)
I love how they remade all the music.
-PrestonF Li- They had to. The GBA can't handle SNES sound.
Albeit rather poorly.
@Phantom Drags It could but there was a bug in the hardware that caused it sound like that
I remember this game as 9 years old
I just like the moon, I don't know why
..seeing this ticks me off. no matter how hard I try, I never make those U turns without either slowing down or drifting. and it also ticks me off because I recently had the pleasure of realizing how much easier this is than the original version of the track. nice job in the race, takes skill to only fall off twice (no joke, no sarcasm, the corners are tough). Why do Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Wario have their Japanese Voices?
Teh Sweggy Koopa *Intelligent Systems. They also reused Mario Kart 64's sprites for the racers.
Mario dykstra because its cool
Wario doesn't, but the rest do.
@Amy Shute NOT AT ALL
Phantom Drags Item sprites are also from MK64
This song really tripped you out
I like that they return SNES Rainbow Road on Super Circuit & Mario Kart 7, but I prefer playing SNES Rainbow Road on Super Mario Kart, since it's more tougher to beat.
Thank you for sharing the video!
i love the music...
2:03 _OVER THERE!_

I hate this part
Luigi Luigi oyea oyea😉👍🍀
It's all fun and games until it's final lap lol

How?
@viejos1000 I was really excited they did SNES rainbow road for Mario Kart 7/ I hope they eventually do downloadble tracks and release more of the classics, but thats just dreamin'
That was a Great run, You almost overlapped Wario! hah
They made this track a lot easier in this
Nadie me supera en esa pista con el récord bestial
Good controling with Luigi on Rainbow Road!
Congratulations for coming in 1st place!
I like how Mario went into 5th place lol

The music reminds me of a train.
Plus its my favorite track.
Last i love the video!
Teh Sweggy Koopa grammar Nazi alert
dude it looks awsome on Mario Kart 7!
It makes no sense that there are thwomps in this game but they didn't put them in the SNES courses

Boy.... I do not remember this game looking this bad; 01 really was a long time ago.....
Also, Y do Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Wario have their Japanese Voices in the American Version?
Cool video, i'm surprised that there aren't any thwomps though
i remember when i was 8 years old I ALMOST beat the 12th player by a whole lap!
ok.
Ivoroon Θ yes
@@andrewkauke l think l was referring to the Mario Kart 8 edition.
cool
It looks a lot better on MK7! (:
@VeeEightsj Nope. No thwomps in the Game Boy Advance Version of this level.
This was my GBA's least favorite level...
Man I swear everyone makes this look so easy on here. I knew the older games were harder but shoot.
yooo u freakin dusted them
No thwomps? No challenge...
While Nintendo shows some love to Super Mario Kart's Rainbow Road, how about giving Super Mario World some more love, god dammit?
@JapanYoshiTheGamer
That's his ol' Japanese voice... they rarely Americanized it in the old games.
See Mario Kart 64's differences.
So the key to winning is to not drift. Gotcha
i luv mario kart super circuit

thats just me

Shouldn't there be twomps all over the place? Like on the snes?
Why did they take the thwomps out?
Bingo!
this is a great game but i cant say the music is as good as the snes version
This game was badass. I think it had the most circuits/tracks out of any Mario Kart game.
For the time you commented this, you'd be correct. However, there are countless rehashes and literally half of them are remade courses, all of which are from Super, with no attempt to remake 64 tracks in 2D. It's pretty bad, actually.
I hope this rainbow road will be on mario kart 9
A 5th time?
What does that mean
Oh I get it now
Too many SNES Rainbow Road versions are enough for me.
- the original
- Super Circuit version
- 7 version
- 8 version
- Tour version
I have this game and I can’t find this track.
This was the hardest level/ funky song played ever hahaha.
actually, it was the night time sky.
Then: MK Super circuit Luigi play
Now: NOOB vs PRO vs HACKER vs GOD vs ROBLOX PIGGY in FORTNITE COMPARISON
i agree. it's kinda real.
1:25 how did luigi fall
Hey, How to unlock it?
Is in quick race or in Cup?
I'm not luigi i'm mario
it is? well just imagine, if after every coin you collect you keep going faster and faster, if you have like 30coins in 150cc, you're gonna go so fast, you can barely control yourself, they had to draw the line at some point
WHY ON EARTH LUIGI SOUNDS LIKE LIU KANG FROM MORTAL KOMBAT IDK WHY
why does luigi sound like peach?
was this the first retro track ever?
Obvisously it was for the SNES.

I think it uses GBA Rainbow Road's background, but takes a lot of things out.
There are no thwomps in this version. :(
I used to kill this game lol played it every day!
@mike34622 yeah. me too. i have mario kart 7 on 3ds.
Why this song better than snes edition?
@Linkigi1972 but i still love the video

music kinda sounds wierd but i like it
So does luigi's voice
I know I can. But I've never seen a glitch in this game before.
You can unlock Super Mario Kart tracks in MKSC
What? Nooooooo. Who gave you that stupid, fucking idea?
is this for ds
1 problem: mario kart 7 cant have unlimited coins now can it? (max of 10 is stupid)

yeah, but this is mario kart super circuit.
