@@rikhard1116 This isn't Mario Kart on the Wii. It isn't easy. My little brother is amazing at the pick up & play Wii one but in this one he even struggles with the easiest characters. notice the computer doesn't have catch up logic, because the game is much harder in other ways.
I played SMK when i was young. My favorite character was Toad, but to have the best times you had to play Bowser or Donkey. I'm sorry but the skill of that guy isn't amazing, i'd say average. I'd like to see him with Bowser on the Rainbow Road, Toad and Koopa are way too easy to handle.
Same, I like to think I'm pretty good at this game, but even I couldn't race like that on 150cc Rainbow Road 🙌🏼 This guy took those corners so well at high speed.
I seen the prehistoric age of computers, most of you can't fathom how great laps this person is running, this person plays Mario Kart in an utter godly fashion!
That was almost too painful to watch - how ridiculously close you were to falling all those times! Even though I knew you'd make it, because of the title, those were some seriously crazy jumps! X_X
Man, this guy plays SMK like a TAS speedrunner. I remember when I could play this rainbow road without falling... it was hard, let alone trying to dodge the thwomps and DK Jr and Bowser AND whatever crap they try to snipe you with
You beat my time... in my youth, I scored a 1'21 on Rainbow Road. Of course, I honed my skills by playing the game 1,000 times. I tried playing the game 20 years later and finished Rainbow Road in last place by a mile. Age compromises your chops!
The original Rainbow Road. This is the track for true Mario Kart Racers. Not as clumsy or random as a Gran Turismo track, an elegant battleground for a more civilized age. For over a thousand generations, the Rainbow Road was the guardian of peace and justice in the Old 16-bit era. Before the dark times... before the PlayStation.
1993, Woodridge, Queensland - 7:30am: A small group of children in before-school care take turns playing Super Mario Kart. One of them manages to make it to Rainbow Road. The rest of the children go crazy. We all watch in awe as a psychedelic wonder assails our eyes and wondrous music fills our ears. We go to class that day feeling like we've seen Heaven itself.
The jumps are there to avoid skidding and also quickly change direction. Hence it’s really useful here especially when cutting corners and dodging the thwomps.
One word...DAAAAAMMNN!! I got good at this game, but not THAT good. To be able to jump whole CORNERS like that...you smashed second place by a whole 19.5 seconds. Final Conclusion: Astonished
They're meant to be the fastest 2 aren't they but I never could control them well. Toad for life! But the person finishing last would depend on what driver you were using, I use to love Luigi or Princess being the losers because her mushrooms 🍄 were so annoying if you ran into one, same with Luigi and his star
The speed of the other racers is dependant upon what character you choose. You can mess up this system by making one of your main rivals finish outside the top 3 but that requires doing it on the last lap otherwise the rubberbanding will quickly bring them back up the field. Used to love the combat mode or whatever it was called cos i was like a sniper with those green shells
Still the best track in Mario Kart history. Rainbow Road should always be the hardest track. I'd love to see a rom hack of Mario Kart 64 that removes the guard rail from Rainbow Road.
Yo that was incredible skill!! I mean I'm good at this game, because me and my brother & sister grew up playing it and still play it every so often today, and Rainbow Road on 150cc is not easy! You took them corners like a boss, and dodged them brick things that fall down, one of the two always ends up fucking yo my race on that track on 150cc haha, great skills 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
My old friends and I spent months playing SNES Mario Kart time trials on Rainbow Road and Ghost Valley 1. We were able to get 41 seconds on Ghost Valley 1. we found you could actually clip the wall on turns without hitting them, which most of the WR holders don't do on Mario Kart. You can also use the slide spot after the first turn to carry you into a slide along the wall on the 2nd turn, clipping the blocks on the 2nd turn by 1/3rd of bowser's front cart. Of course we were just friends, stoned, goofing off in an era where you had to have a chunk of money to buy a camcorder to record that stuff. You could also abuse the slide with Bowser on Rainbow Road and never lose speed with him, hanging the front of your cart off the edge through the turns.
My record with Koopa is 1:17:92. I used the mushroom once, on the ''bouncer'' where the track splits in two parts. You simply jump over the entire curve and save a second approximately.
That's Epic! Grew up playing this in the early to mid '90s and it's my all time favorite video game. Legendary races and gritty Battles, it had it all.
That's some awesome playing there. I used to be that good back in the day and literally no one could beat me. but I haven't played MK in 10-15 years now, so I probably back to the likes of a beginner now LOL
This one was unbelievably hard, I had a super nintendo at like age 5. It was actually quite old at the time and most people had a game cube or wii at the time. I bought a nintendo switch a few months ago and i found this on the mario kart 8 deluxe and man, they made this level too easy with auto-drive and such.
This game is fantastic. It was a third game in my collection in 1990s... I'm remember with happiness my childhood times. MUITO OBRIGADO PELO POST! (GREETIMGS FROM BRASIL).
I remember pulling out all the stops trying to win this on 100cc, so I could unlock 150cc. Came down to the last lap, as I was in 4th, and I needed first place to win everything. I kicked all my friends and my sister out of the room so I could concentrate. It was looking like I was gonna lose until I got a box with a mushroom. I saved it for the straightaway near the end of the track, that had the yellow jump on it. I started a drift, and used my mushroom speed boost and hit the yellow bump, and jumped hard right, over the pit, and onto the final straightaway in first place. 150cc unlocked! Greatness ensued
I'm just...speechless. I grew up with this game and to this day I still can't get 1st place on Rainbow Road on 150cc. Comparing this to Mario Kart 8...I'm just shaking my head. This guy is a legend.

I did it once for both versions on the 3ds

I could but only for SNES.
