@@fofopho The touch screen menu frees a lot of the custom buttons to be assigned with other functions, which just makes our workflow better with less hassle. Just dream of animal/bird eye AF in video, the only thing holding me from adding the A1 to my arsenal.

Didn’t realize the quick menu was getting added…love that swipe action…at first I thought it was replacing the previous interface altogether, which I didn’t want that…I’m binging all the RUclipsrs’ vids so I’m learning more and more as I go. I haven’t updated my camera yet…will give it a couple weeks to see if any bugs. 🙃
Don't you know why I cannot obtain license vhile I am trying to install one for 4k DCI? When I am at the right tab, it shows no information about my camera reg number, etc and the obtain license option is grayed out. My camera is registered at Sony for more than 3 years. Have no clue
So, no reg number can be found at the tab where the license might be requested and then installed. Even if the reg number can be seen in the camera menu / Creators'cloud/ cloud info/Account info Details
Yea I use a tamron 28-75, this lens doesn't even have any breathing to it and plus it doesn't allow you to turn it on. but my guess is its the same as it is on A7iv and FX3
I found an error with the connection between the a7siii and any zhiyun gimbal. The REC button no longer works on the gimbal and information such as AV is shown and controlled, but the ISO is changed incorrectly and randomly. Has anyone had this problem and managed to resolve it?
Sam, I've noticed that the camera no longer crops in when using the 120p mode compared to 24p or 60p. But when I compare it picture shooting mode (PSAM), it looks like the 1.1x crop mode is now applied to every movie setting. It actually zooms out very slightly! Is it only me, can you check that on your camera too? Thanks!
Could you please tell where is activation menu for dci 24p license in the app? I can not find it - set my camera to ntsc and there is no such option in the creators app

all other manufacturers - open iphone app, tap "update firmware" - go on using camera with updated features. (or for nerds copy update file onto sdcard - boom, 3 minutes - done). SONY - download update app, download install weird "driver" (on mac) that requires lowering the system security, then upgrade to "intermediary" update 30 minutes, then upgrade final update 3.0 - another 30 minutes. Then spend 2 hours trying to figure out why "license management" option won't show on your creators app, and finally - get unusable DCI 4K with only one option of 24p and 240 Mbit file size! still no way to shoot 30 fps in h.265, still need to reboot to change from PAL to NTSC framerates...
This update has not fixed the main problem of a7s III (same as FX3) - terrible built-in-camera Noise Reduction at high ISO in video, which eats detail and turns picture into mushy mush. Remarkably, in the FX6 camera, they made it possible to control the noise reduction level, up to complete turning it off, and the NR-algorithm itself very good, because it suppresses only chroma noise but not luma, so it retains details ruclips.net/video/e5xu_TTPmFU/видео.html I would like to see the same thing added to the a7s III and am even willing to pay $500 or even more for this update, but alas, Sony is unlikely to hear me. By the way, many other manufacturers (Panasonic, Nikon, Fujifilm) allows us to control NR-level in video mode in their cameras, only the Sony stubbornly refuses to give us this possibility.

to me the 48 looks a lot more cinematic. Ever since I used the 48 on my FX3 and then on Ronin 4D I just love how it looks. its not too slow but its still slow

well if there is a company with ABYSMAL record in software development it is no doubt SONY (ENTERTAINMENT)! I've never seen more useless, grotesquely abstruse and convoluted pieces of digital coding. Their Imaging Edge apps, both Mac version and mobile ARE HORRIBLE, the software inside their cams is primitive and ugly, and they also make crazy arbitrary limitations, like NO WAY TO shoot h.265 in 30p! WHY?!?! Also this idiotic REBOOT TO NTSC and then "YOU ARE RUNNING NTSC" each time you boot camera! WTF - can you just give us both PAL and NTSC framerates in ONE SINGLE menu option?!?!? why do we need to reboot the camera and reformat the card each time!?
Sony firmware ver.3.0. Unnecessary update, no point uploading. It doesn't solve anything important, just a stupid app. Focusing is still bad. Sony is starting to piss me off a lot. Sony doesn't care about customers, they don't do anything important to their products. Only for the most expensive products.
hello I love your content. You are good at describing complex things in a way so that everyone can understand. I may need your help with one minor things regarding this update. I have the new firmware on my Sony A7s3 and have some issues with Auto focus with Face and Eye detection when set for Human subject. The issue is this: focus works fine when my head is horizontal but if I stay with my head upside down the camera fails to focus on my eyes. This did not happen with previous firmware version (2.10 I know not quite previous but that was last before updating to 2.15 and 3.0. Please let me know if you experience this kind of issue also. Maybe somehow is a problem. Happens with both lenses that I have GM2 24-70 & GM2 16-35mm. Kind regards and thank you so much in advance.The issue happens with both my SonyA7s3 cameras, so it is caused by the firmaware 3.0.

I updated my Siii and the DCI option is still not there.
Got all the new Menu's and everything but not the DCI...really weird.

perhaps it is a SOC limitation - this cam is simply not beefy enough to process advance NR

To be honest with you, im not sure. We dont use 25 in US so i cant really tell you

even Nikon does a better job at that, unfortunately. With them you can just freely choose between 24/25/30/50/60 etc lol.
