This was a lot of help. I am in year 9 and I am getting closer to where we have to pick our gcse options. I personally dont think I'm bad at art but I dont think I'm good at it either but I've been told multiple time that I should do art for my gcses but I never took it into consideration until today, I did a mix media bell pepper and my art teacher loved it so she started showing my her past students sketch books. I dont know if I am gonna take art but I am leaning towards it.
you totally should! there is no “good” or “bad” art after studying it for a few years and still doing alevel, art takes many forms and is a great gcse to take you into creative industrys for the future :))
broo!! the chalk and charcoal flower piece was so stunning, I remember having to do that, but my teacher made us do self-portraits without any previous experience drawing faces. I'm so proud of you for getting that grade 9, definitely deserved :)
oh noo im glad i didnt do portraits as our theme i cannot draw people at all LMAO
Art is a form of love. Art is the ultimate gift. Art heals life.💕 Superb gift!! Can't wait for you to have your own art exhibit 🎉🎉🎉 so proud of you Kirstyn! Keep doing what you love ❤️
you are so good!!!! People who are good are art are just insaneeee
omg thank u sm !
Currently going to yr 11 so finding this was so helpful because I have good ideas but I need a little bit more. And you really helped with that
aww im glad that i am able to help you with your gcse art journey!
Love your tour! So much creativity. 😃
As a person who finds art boring 😂 this is such an inspirational vid!
you worked so hard!you deserve every sucess!
thank you so so muchhh
This reminds me of my sons art book he did at high school, your book is fantastic and deserves a 9,I hope you carry on with your art as you have inspired me at 64 years old.
thank you so much for your kind words! so happy to hear that my art inspires🫶🏼
It certainly does.X
ITS SOO PRETTY!!!
THANK YOUU !!
Ughhh I love this! My school is so controlling over what we do for natural forms- we aren’t allowed to do any animals or bones, and they make us study certain artists.
thank you!! ohh thats such a shame it must be hard to have creative freedom for ur coursework
THANK YOUUUU
i saw the list and the options look so bad lmao
@@lovefromkirstyn they areeee omg :/ btw what type of art did you do? like there's fine art/craft and design/etc.
Wow this is amazing!! You are literally amazing at art :)!!!
thank you so muchh !!
OW EM GEEE
YUHHH
Hii I am planning to take art for my gcse's and my school does the Edexal exam board. I was wondering if you get the design of your final piece in the exam or do you have to dk it in your head? Thank you ❤❤
i actually didn’t do an exam for art since our year group was affected by covid however for our art mocks we were allowed to preplan everything before hand like design it then do the outline! so yes you do it beforehand and create the actual piece in the exam
@@lovefromkirstyn Oh sorry to hear that but thank you so much I really appreciate you giving me this information
no worries!!
I amso impressed ive seen so many videos like this but this is by far my fav im doing art for gcse in september and a quick question is: is there any pieces in particular that requires paint if so what paint would be the best to use?
omg tysm! regarding the paint, you often get a choice between various mediums however i always found that acrylic was the most suitable since it can be blended and layered easily whilst drying quickly than oil which can take months, some paintings look better with watercolour or there is the inbetween medium of gouache that can be watered down like watercolours or used like acrylics
i hATED oil pastels, my francis bacon art in year 9 looked so disappointing
mine too BAHAHAH francis bacon art is so hard for what
im contemplating art gcse, i love art but im not particularily skilled at it so idk
you should totally try talking to your art teachers! im sure they can give in depth advice onto what would be best for you, at first i was never that good at art but always loved the subject therefore if you do end up taking it you’ll learn skills and techniques along the way !
is the realistic like drawings like the sweet peas drawn by oil pastels?
it was done with prismacolours which i believe are oil based
Hai - if you see this I want to ask how time consuming in art gcse - I am really considering in picking it as I find it interesting but at the same time I feel like it would take up a lot of my free time
tbh it isnt time consuming as most people say it is, for me i think everyone in my class would agree that i was the most time managed person like i’d do my work asap, finish on mini deadlines and my overall sketchbook was finished months before it was due for submission yet alot of my friends had struggled putting together their sketchbooks due to time constraints. so my overall advice is totally go for it! but you have to remember that gcse art and any type of subject is all about time management if you leave work til last minute of course it will pile up and you wont have enough time to produce high quality pieces, there was times however when our final pieces had to be taken home and done over holiday breaks but its the same with any other subject homework so it is important that you stay on track on the work that teachers provide you with and you should be perfectly fine
