As good as CBR650R is, it has such a small gas tank, the full range was about 140 miles or so during the recent weekend riding (One of my buddies recently got one). I know Ninja 650 easily covers up to 180 miles w. a full tank. For someone like me whose daily riding is easily 70 miles, it makes a difference. 😉 That is why I am upgrading Ninja 650 soon (from my Ninja 300) 😎☺️
@@Tobeon2 Yeah but that Inline 4 cylinder motor in the Honda in my opinion is superior and makes quite a bit more horsepower than the Ninja's 2 cylinder motor. (Almost 20 more horsepower) The Honda also has better breaks, and a better suspension system. Obviously its more expensive, but your getting what you pay for. I haven't rode either bike, but on paper, the Honda is clearly the better performer. By the way the Honda has a larger tank than the Ninja so i dont quite understand what your going on about (15.4 litres vs 15 litres) The Ninja gets slightly better gas mileage which is why the Ninja can go longer on a full tank, But it has nothing to do with gas tank size.
@@BennyZ88 No doubt!! The smoothness of I4!!!! But then, at least $2500 more expensive too. If my commuting is not that long though, I would probably buy CBR650R!!

I've grabbed a 2019 CBR500R as a first bike this April. Put some 4000 miles on it since :D Love it, and the only reason I'm looking to jump up to this is for some extra power when riding with someone or on the highway in the high 100's kph. Otherwise my 500 will see at least another 5000 before I jump up
Tell me about your opinions on both. I like the sports tourer riding position. I had a cbr500r. Now deciding between cbr650f ($5.5k)or '17ninja 1000. ($7.5k). I'm feeling for 2k more I'm getting so much more
Matthew Schrader loved the CB650F, very easy, confidence inspiring and aktive riding position. Very comfortable, great 4 zyl. motor and sound. On the MT09 I needed more time to develop some confidence, especially in the corners. After 3k km I really got used to it. It’s handling is much easier, especially in the city, and it has way more power than the Honda. But the Honda had it’s place and was the right step for me, because it was easier to have fun with.
@@imitatioChristi_ I've been riding a 1000 for years and I'm buying an R3 in the spring. I do waaaaay too many miles to be riding the way this thing makes me want to ride. R3 daily and probably a wr250r as my fun bike
Ninja 650 is not really comparable to the CBR650R. In my area, the CBR650R is around $2,000 more than a Ninja 650. Also, comparing a parallel-twin to an in-line is not exactly comparable. They both just happen to be 650mL.
@No_Name cbr is faster, less vibrations and more stable, even a kid would know there's more to bike than speed. Ninja650 doesn't have a chance in quality either, that's why cbr is better. Ninja 650 is for uncles and aunties who can't get a adv but want similar sitting posture 🤣
I'm highly considering one of these for my first bike (more than likely used) selectable torque feature will be handy until I get alot more comfortable. What a gorgeous bike.

The 2019 650R is my bike. It's really a comfortable bike. It goes though when it hits 8k RPM. The throttle is manual not fly by wire. I would say a beginner could ride it. The power really doesn't hit you until 8k. It won't take off like an R6 or the CBRrr. It's very quiet for cruising. A smoked out windscreen really helps see the gauges.
Hello. Correctly owning 2014 zx14 se. Looking forward to switch for new r1. Nice review! The old cbr650f is one of my favorite bikes the new one is so beautiful.
Honda gonna put on that higher price tag, but wow that bike is beautiful. There is so much 650 hate but fellas what is great about that 650 class, is that you don't feel like compete trash after you ride it. You can drive and remain on the bike for longer periods. My buddy has a Older R1 and it not only is it extremely dangerous because of its power but it physically is a challenge to ride in comfort. It's beautiful blue and white colors cover up the reality that the bike is for the track.

650r owner here. Cool video. It's a shame you couldn't rev it out more. The bike comes alive about 8k.
I just bought that 2019 Ninja 650...and now I want the Honda...
@@Tobeon2 I get like 200 miles per tank, but the tank in the 650 is smaller than the cbr by 0.2. My commute is long as well, so that's why I picked it
@@Tobeon2 Yeah but that Inline 4 cylinder motor in the Honda in my opinion is superior and makes quite a bit more horsepower than the Ninja's 2 cylinder motor. (Almost 20 more horsepower)
The Honda also has better breaks, and a better suspension system.
@@KillJoyHot I guess it is a gpm issue. I know CBR650R is smoother, but coming from Ninja 300, I know I will enjoy Ninja 650 a lot especially during my 10- 15 mins of daily highway riding!!
2016 yamaha r3. It has full exhaust, sprint air filter, and Norton fab flash. It also has suspension and brake upgrades. Love your content!!!
I bought a 2019 Kawasaki Z650 back in April 2019.
I'm riding a 2008 Kawasaki ninja 650r. I just got it like about 2 months ago and as my first bike it's been pretty fun.
I only have a 50cc motorcycle 🙁. I wish I could experience driving sports bike someday
Patience
you will ride one broo...one dayy
Been there bro, your first ride on a big cc bike will blow your mind..u will never want to go back
You still have a 50cc bike ...look at me i don't even have that ...had a Honda bike but had to sell it...you don't know the pain of being bikeless 💔
@@ABHISHEKKUMAR-pg5yi you dont have bike i dont have legs..do you know pain of legless
Got the cbr650r two months ago! I live in australia so cant wait to derestrict it and actually feel the full power
Calvin Chang where are you doing the derestriction? I live in Melb as well.
Pastor Gainz I’m from Sydney. Just go to your local private mechanic in person. They don’t like to talk about it on the phone or online.
2019 Honda CB1000. Love my Hondas 👌
2014 yamaha r1, had it years and still love the sound and ride.
Fantastic bike with that crossplane sound, mmmm
2019 Ninja 650 here.
Same
Me too, but really considering getting the CBR650R. I love everything about the Ninja 650, but sometimes feel it's a little lacking in power when I'm overtaking or trying to get out of trouble.
Same my friend, except mine is from 2018, great all-round bike ✌️
1981 honda cm400c bobber...its a love hate relationship with this bike. its my first bike, learned a lot from this bike. i put 8,xxx+ miles on it this season and next season im lookin to buy a 2019mt07 cuz now ik what kind if riding i like.
just a 2018 CB300F, really want an Indian Scout Bobber though
Awesome I started on that same bike . After 600 miles I traded it for a cbr500r
i got my 2017 CBR300R a few months ago, I also want a Scout bobber
@@normanazoth4181 yeah ill probably pick one up next year or the year after. Buying used does save a bit.
This is a sweet spot between the sports stars like r6 gsxr zx6r and the ninja 650.
This cbr650 feels like something in between those which is great.
That´s my dream bike, one day I´ll get it!
Have you gotten it
I just recently got myself a CB650R, the naked version of this. Fantastic bike. Even though it's obviously the same bike as the CBR in most aspects, I'd love to see your take on it.
2018 Triumph Street Triple RS, looking to add a BMW K1600 or R1200RT for long trips.
@Michael Moretti there are some great deals on used bikes near me. I recently found '13 with under 3k miles for 12 grand. Lots of others too. But yeah, the new ones are practically like buying a house! Lol
Where have you been? Your reviews are the best.
2019 CBR650R
im on a chopped 95 zx6e and a 01 yamaha r6. and youre at 41k now! Keep it up dude!
KAWASAKI Z900 ABS 2019🔥❤ smooth and fast... (smooth criminal)😂
Just found your channel and I love it! Just got my endorsement on Wednesday 10/30. I'm not riding anything at the moment. Hopefully I can get a machine during the winter at a reasonable price. Keep up the good work.
2019 CBR 650R 😉😉
Same here bro, best purchase ive made

@@gonza_9106 OKay starter bike?
@@taj1400 oh yeahh!!
I've grabbed a 2019 CBR500R as a first bike this April. Put some 4000 miles on it since :D
Love it, and the only reason I'm looking to jump up to this is for some extra power when riding with someone or on the highway in the high 100's kph.
Otherwise my 500 will see at least another 5000 before I jump up
I got a 2018 Yamaha MT09, before that I had a 2017 Honda CB650F.
Just got a 2018 CB650F myself. Extremely fun. Too noob for the MT09 though. I've heard their throttle is especially touchy.
I have been riding CB1000R for 6 months, love this bike so much.
I have a 2019 Yamaha YZF-R3, I'm so ready to get a 600
Scuffed Viewer don’t be so quick to get a 600, the 300s have great potential to have a shit ton of fun on, just gotta hit the backroads
@@whiteboiwyatt I wouldn't get any other bike for my first bike 😁
@@imitatioChristi_ I've been riding a 1000 for years and I'm buying an R3 in the spring. I do waaaaay too many miles to be riding the way this thing makes me want to ride. R3 daily and probably a wr250r as my fun bike
Surprised how many compare to the kawi 650 and comfort level, seems like the most reviews are saying it is more aggressive. Thanks for the review.
Ninja 650 is not really comparable to the CBR650R. In my area, the CBR650R is around $2,000 more than a Ninja 650. Also, comparing a parallel-twin to an in-line is not exactly comparable. They both just happen to be 650mL.
But they are both 650cc Sport Touring bike.
@@alexbenham4695 if they are comparable. Then cbr650r is the clear winner
Same here. They seem hard to find though!
2019 Honda CBR500R Next Please :)
CBR600RR 2012 model , registered 2015, 14k km miledge now , flawless , no problem at all , Honda builds good bikes !
Past 2 bikes were 2015,2016 FZ09. Currently on a 2016 KTM SuperDuke R😎👍😋
I currently ride the bike you reviewed here. Owned a 2016 CB500X previous to getting this bike. I absolutely LOVE the 650R, wouldn't change it for the world =)

2019 Ninja 650.
Great bike and a great deal for sure
@@DukeOfDC It is a great deal, but before buy I watched 20+ hours of reviews, and in none it specified the exces of vibrations...
Unless ure used to it...I cannot recomend it to anyone, specialy not as a starting bike.
@@ionutrobertinomanea2257 I don't know if it's the gear I use or if I'm used to solid motor mounts from my other cars, but I don't think the vibrations are bad at all, even on 2-3hr rides.
Have you tried being a little more loose with your grip?

Also I find myself needing to hold my weight with my back so I dont put that much pressure on my wrists.

Happy to be here. The support this summer has been unreal, and it's really helped me push through the negativity
Getting a 2018 z650, I'm stoked!
Nice! How do you like it?
The real fun starts at 8.500 revs (max torque) and full power is at 12000 you didnt even experienced the best part of the inline 4 cylinders which is the sudden increase of power up in the powerband. Thats why i love em.
I have a 2015 CBR300R and I bought a 2019 CBR650R last month. That's why I'm here mate to see what you think of it.
1974 Honda CB 250 K4 "Frame and Parts" and a G5 Engine ... old school , love it
Great video man I don’t have a bike kit shopping around for one ninja 400 are the CBR 600 Honda don’t know which one to go with so I’m watching lots of videos
Went from a Triumph Street Twin to a 2018 Ninja 400. Big change but for the better in my situation. Ride safe out there!
Joseph DAgostino Im considering buying this bike after selling my mt-07 but Ive read nothing but bad shit about the stock dunlops. Any feedback?
Hi Duke, only discovered you the other day and already subbed! I got my motorcycle licence yesterday and picked up a 2016 CBR500RA
Hello. Correctly owning 2014 zx14 se. Looking forward to switch for new r1. Nice review! The old cbr650f is one of my favorite bikes the new one is so beautiful.
Thank you for the positive vibes!
I just bought a 2017 Kawasaki Z650 for 4K yesterday!
Just bought a cbr650r, looking forward to get it
