    i bought this bike in may of 2021. Amazing little bike. Ive owned Harleys, Hondas, Kawasaki. Ive never had a bike handle like this. Its very poised. It goes where you tell it to...every time. You come out of the corner the same way every time. You feel good the whole way through the turn. If you think you want one bad? Get one.. Its not the fastest bike on the market by a long shot. But it will take you sweetest ride. And it looks incredible. I love mine. I would recommend this unit to anyone who wants a great ride.

    I just bought one and I have to say you can ride it all day long. It will cruise or you can give it some throttle and let it rip. The seat is very comfortable and you can ride almost fully upright.

    This looks like a 2019 version of the beloved CBR600F4i: a comfortable and faired sportsbike for the streets with ~100 hp. It's so hard to find a new inline-4 bike with LED lights under $10k USD, but Honda have done it.

    I have a 2017 CBR1000RR and a 2016 CBR500R, yet I can’t stop thinking of this bike. The 2019 CBR650R fixes the few things wrong with the 500, mainly in the power department. I bet this is the kind of bike you can rack up some serious miles on.

      @ntpryce 2 года назад

      @@hypasheep I love this bike. I’d definitely choose this over the 500cc if you can. While I wish it was derestricted, there’s more than enough power for plenty of fun. I’m still toying with the idea of getting it derestricted though. Mostly worried about how this might affect my licence 😂🤣
      I also love the Matt black colour with the devil red highlights. It looks wicked.

  • @estoylaroca

    I have the naked version, and prefer it actually, but I must say that aesthetically, of course the sport version looks cooler.
    I guess the trade-off is, is that the naked version can be customized to be a lot more comfortable + adding saddlebags etc. While the sport version looks better with the wind screen + is maybe aerodynamically better overall.
    Either way, can't go wrong picking one over the other, you'll get the typical Honda quality experience.

    Just got my cb650r today. Took me some time to adjust to the slightly higher centre of gravity compared to my Tracer. Police were everywhere (sunny day). But no desire to go too fast anyway. Love it. It has enough torque down low to get through city bits without a problem and enough power to give me a Cheshire Cat smile on open roads. I would have bought an MT09 if not for prohibitive insurance cost. But, apart from the initial torque rush, the 650 is just as much fun and is more forgiving of shoddy riding. Love it. The quickshifter is superbo and is a necessary part of the pleasure of riding the bike. Tail tidy and a softer setting on the rear suspension next.

    • @Englishbikerdan
      @Englishbikerdan  5 лет назад

      Plus, the suspension on the 650 is much stiffer.

    Lovely middle weight bike and it's a Honda, enough said. Good review and nice to hear Dan say; "I don't want to drop the bike because it is not mine, whilst getting off the gravel infested road". Respect in the right sense of the word. They seem to do that scraping-off-tarmac everywhere. Cheap solution to make it look as if they make the roads better I suppose but it makes it worse and very dangerous whilst causing paint damage etc to the bike, God forbid if you come off it.

Put 34k miles on it and it's been a blast, but someone drove into it recently, think it's gonna be a write-off :(... But once the claim settles I'm fully set on upgrading to the new model 650Rs. The CB is gorgeous mind, but I'm converted, sports bikes are just way nicer in the corners IMO, and easier to filter on, and no wind blast at speeds. Can't wait to get back on a bike man.

    My ride is a Harley-Davidson Breakout 17, although to ride daily I needed something more nimble and lighter for my town, so I bought a month ago the new CBR 650R in black, so far I am very very happy with the bike, its my first sport bike, basically I had to "learn" how to ride again since the riding position is so different from my HD and of course much lighter. Just the consumption I dont know how they came up with the 4.7L because the minimum I can do so far is 5,6 L but I don't care hahaha bike is just very fun, enough power for me and overall I think its the best in its segment. I checked other 600cc and Honda seemed to be the best choice/price for what I wanted. I fell in love for the looks of the bike, very agressive, the stock exhaust sound is not great, but not bad at all, for a stock. My HD came up with an stock exhaust that seemed like a popcorn machine hahaha, I didnt rest until I changed it to Vance & Hynes. Anyway keep the good job! Cheers from Portugal! ;)

    Hey Dan, as you own a CB650 and have done a long European ride on it, which of the two (CB or CBR) would you prefer for light touring? Does the fairing on the CBR offer better wind protection, even more than your CB650r 'touring version' (I watched that vid too). Cheers

    You should never buy a bike on looks alone, but I did 😍 It's like you're reviewing my bike😀. I did get rid of that hideous tow hook at the back, slapped some crash bungs on it along with the sports pack, and your right, the quickshifter is lovely.
    Thanks Dan, I actually chose the black version because of this review (which I've watched at least a dozen times lol). Just love the stealthy look of it. Sometimes when it's sat in the garage I just stare at it, and think how lucky I am.
