I've seen some odd traction pad placements here in San Diego. This video should be played live at all public beaches 🤣

Hey Lakey , good job .
You could do a vid for twinny tail pad placement too (if you even have a twinny). A mate of mine bought an Album twinsman and put the block part of the tail pad in line with the back of the fins (I think most people line the tail block up with the back of the back fin in a thruster setup). But we discovered thats not the case with a twinny. Album suggested putting it basically as far back as you can . I'm assuming thats the same for all twins 🤔🤷‍♂️.
Keep up the good work 👏. 2024 womens world champ 🏆 🙏🏻

Thanks for the tips! What if I want half inch gap near the front and no gap near the kick(like your wider boards)? If I stick the kick part with 100% no gap first, it seems that I have to bend the pad a little to create the gap. The bend could create air bubbles which really bugs me.

I always line my tail pads up relative to where the back centre fin box is.
As you want your foot back against the riser on top of your fin.
Also before pealing off to reveal the stick part you line it up and use a pencil to mark the centre back point and top point.
Then outline the bit you want to trim off then place it into position to see if you need to trim more off.
Then go through the process Lakey’s process to stick it on.
This will help not having to use a knife afterwards as you don’t want to cut into your nice new board by accident.
    Horses for courses though.
    Hope this helps 🤙🏽

I noticed that Lakey doesn't talk about lining the pad up with the fins... She's obviously waaaay better at surfing than most of us, so I wondered if she lines it up subconsciously or if it's just not something pros worry about...

Good tip. Especially on the over hanging of the rails. Have a new stick coming. It’s a wider diamond tail. Like the peeling a third off first. Thanks 🤙
