    Great tip! Kind of reinforces what I naturally tend to do when I pop up, which is let my feet fall where it seems comfortable. I've been trying to pop up and get my back foot all the way back, and it's always felt a bit "forced" when I do it, so I'll stop doing that and just adjust with what I need once I'm up.

    I was skeptical, but this is excellent advice. I've been told to think of the tip where he described moving to the end of board when paddling like choking up on a bat in baseball. That move is especially important in small surf. Do it!!!

    This is an awesome video! Thank you. I struggle to move my feet once I’m up without falling or losing speed. I guess in time it will get easier. Sometimes I try to just slide it without lifting it and it gets stuck with the wax and then basically the wave ends or I try to lift it and fall. It’s a definite struggle. Especially if I try to move my feet right after the drop when I have so much speed, it is very difficult and I usually end up falling. Although it happens more when I pop up with my feet off-centre rather than just a bit too far forward, so that could also be why.

    It’s easy when you have clean 🏄‍♂️ surf but it’s essential here in south Florida when it’s 25-35 mph wind chop were you put your back foot, you need to giddy up and go.

      Find a shorter board design that does performance turns. Like the RNF 96, Dominator 2.
      Get a longer Surfskate that will help you widen your stance a bit.

    Kool relevent stuff but lacking the details on how to move the foot. was hoping for some info on moving your feet in boots where once your feet are planted they are pretty much stuck there with the extra grip..is this just me and is my wax too sticky..)

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777 6 месяцев назад +8

      Boots are tough to move your feet with. When I use booties I move my feet in the same places on a wave that I showed in this video. I even put a wave of me moving my back foot around with boots on. One trick to moving your front foot with boots on is to keep your wax on the light side. Don’t use too much wax and definitely don’t use super sticky wax with booties.

    Hey Noel what happened to the Carver boards? You’re riding slide Surfskate boards now? Do you think Slide boards are the closest to surfing? Have you tried SwellTech or Yow?

    • @surfnshowreviews7777

      The Slide skates are a lot better than Carvers.

      @@surfnshowreviews7777 hey Noel which model slide would you recommend? I’m looking for a surfskate that I can cruise on but still be able to work on tech training. The swell tech takes a while to get used to, it’s generally considered the hardest surfskate to ride. And you can’t cruise on it or use it for any transportation at all. It’s very sensitive But I also have one of the first Carver Surfskate’s called the Monsta that they made with Proctor surfboards. Great board but it doesn’t really feel like surfing like the swelltech but it’s a great cruiser that you can pump on. So I guess I’m looking for a little of both. Is slide the board I’m looking for? If so which model? Thanks for everything Noel.
      Im looking for coaching but what do I do if I don’t have anyone to film me?

      @@scottcuttre9705 I suggest hiring a video guy who shoots surfing already. Pay that photographer for 2-3 hours to get some clips and get those clips coached. Maybe do that a couple times a year.
      The Slide skate that I recommend comes in a bunch of different graphics. It’s really about the Slide trucks and how they work. It feels very similar to surfing and easy to shred. Here is a link to the Slide I recommend.
