I'm a newbie but I also think I missed something. watched the complete show and I honestly have NO idea what this jig is for or how to use it. I also dont know enough about bees to understand why they need an escape. They have done just fine for millions of years without any jigs. Help me.
A bee escape is used to harvest honey. It is placed between the honey super and the brood chamber the day before harvest. It is a one way door for bees. Over the night as it cools down they find their way to the brood chamber to help with duties there. The next day when the beekeeper shows up to gather honey the honey super is mostly empty of bees making life better for everyone involved....
Another great video! Thanks!
