My man is telling the absolute truth here! I purchased a seat bottom for my '05 explorer from an eBay store. (I didn't even know about the seat shop). Color is off and worst is the actual cut of the bottom is noticeably different. Wish I could return it, however, I bought it through the winter months and just installed it. Live and learn!
@@TheSeatShop I will definitely be shopping with you in the near future. My passenger side seat bottom is looking a little ragged. This time I will shop smart!
Very informative video here. I was looking around for seat covers for my truck. Found some cheap ones on eBay, and have looked into the seat shop before. Decided to do some research and stumbled on this video. Thanks to this video I will for sure make sure and spend the extra money and buy from the seat shop. You guys know your stuff and thanks for taking the time to explain what I’ll be getting as opposed to the cheaper option.
This is like these idiots who buy Lowe’s branded paint and take it to the return desk at Home Depot and despite it having a Lowe’s label swear they bought it at Home Depot.
China must have stepped up it's game because I just bought the ebay special and it doesn't have any of the poor qualities you are talking about. The grain matches my 2007 suburban exactly. The color is darn near exactly the same as the original. The stitching all lines up. It doesn't have the side seam. The foam is adhered to the leather. It's almost as if they watched your video and made the necessary changes to be a more quality product. It doesn't appear to have that protective plastic spray coating and It's definitely not a strong as the original but it's going in a vehicle where we may only put 2,000 miles a year on it. We got a new vehicle so the old suburban is for towing and hauling now. I with I could afford your seat covers but with one vinyl seat base cover costing $160 to $190, I just can't swing that. Although, I do need 1 second row seat cover and I can't find one anywhere else anymore but on your site so I may have to save up for that one seat cover.
