    So I made an order from here after watching this, it's been 4 days and I've received no confirmation of them even being sent yet. They might be high quality, but from what I understand it's a one-man company so if you want something quick this isn't the place.

      Sorry, that's something I think I mentioned in a previous video and forgot to include it in this one. More because Andrei is based out of Romania and with everything going on might be effected by shipping delays.
      If your concerned send Andrei an email, usually hes pretty good about responding right away. I can't change the video, but I'll sticky this post for others to see.

      @@RelativeTime Hi, an update on this. As much as I'd like I can't really hide my disappointment. Initially I ordered a perlon but forgot to use the channel code, and requested by email to cancel it right after, this was on Aug21, then I made a second order of 8pack natos instead. I received no confirmation or response on anything and finally yesterday on the 27 I asked on facebook live chat for both of them to be cancelled so I can get something else. After all this today on the 28 I received emails that both orders were shipped, neither my email or messages on the facebook page have even been seen or responded to. Overall the customer service gets a 0/10 from me, but hopefully the quality is good enough for the above-average price.

      @@RelativeTime Hi, I know this is an old video but I just wanna share my experience with Armilla. I placed an order on 22 Aug, but still didn't receive any update on shipping as of today (16 Sep). In between, I also emailed and sent messages to them on Facebook, but totally no response. I can't help but wonder if they are still in operation.

    I'd always found 'Perlon' straps a bit underwhelming on wrist, but happened to pair one up with the right watch this summer, and hay, bingo!, a complete revelation. I'd always much preferred a double-pass on a one-piece strap, but bought a Vario single-pass Cordura recently, off the back of my one-piece epiphany, and I'm slowly getting a taste for the things.😀

    Shane. I've had one of these for a while and they wear in nicely. I wear the green on my Sarb033 and although it looks like a thin strap it holds up really well. If Andrei wants to improve the strap I'd ask him for a buckle pin with a more rounded end profile. I think it would help to find its way through the material weave.

    Have you tried the WatchStewart minimalist elastic straps? They are my go to for hot summer days. They are comfortable and offered in a variety of colors. I would describe them as a French paratrooper style using premium materials. If they get dirty from sweat or dirt they can be easily cleaned up in the sink with a bit of soapy water and a rinse. These feel more comfortable than perlon to me because they are softer and, more flexible. I own six of them now in various colors and widths. Longevity has been excellent and after months of constant use they still look new with zero fraying or discernible wear. I would recommend black for a first color.

    Hey, boss. I am a watch collector and I have to say your reviews are the best I have seen on RUclips. Other channels might review $10,000 watches but if there’s something you don’t like about a watch you tell us exactly why you don’t like it. The other channels tend not to do that. Even if you’re guessing on something you let us know it’s a guess. I appreciate that.

    • @RelativeTime
      @RelativeTime  4 года назад

      Only issue I have with bracelets in summer is that my wrist swells with the humidity. So it can go from loose to too tight at times. Which is one reason I've come to love diver's extension clasps for on the fly adjustments.

    • @RelativeTime
      @RelativeTime  4 года назад +1

      The Nato configuration helped with one thing I never liked about perlon. That they were so thin that sometimes the watch slid around the strap when I was putting it on / off. This way the second loop keeps it in place, and overall still pretty thin.

  • @gyrovague
    @gyrovague 3 года назад

    I've been wondering if a perlon nato could rip one's arm off in a wilderness fall. Quite sturdy stuff!

  • @eronavbj
    @eronavbj 4 года назад

    I've always preferred perlon to natos, primarily because I see no reason for the doubling up of the strap under the watch, making it sit even higher. (A zulu does not do this.) So combining the perlon AS a nato is, to me, counterproductive. The true advantage to perlon is the ability to fasten it anywhere along the band, thus insuring a perfect fit.

    Very nice review of the Armila Perlon straps which I watched with much interest as I’m in the market for a couple of new straps for my Hamilton Khaki King with the Champagne/Silver Dial. You helped me decide to pull the plug on the Khaki King when you responded to my message a while back. Thanks again for your input. Maybe it was the lighting, but the dial on your Khaki King looks more silverish in the video when it’s paired with the blue Armila Perlon. Do you agree with that assumption? I tend to like the Champagne look of the Khaki King dial. Anyway, I’d appreciate your thoughts as to which Armila Perlon’s would go well with my Khaki King. I’m looking at the Green, the Burnt Orange and perhaps the Blue Perlon. Do you mind sharing your thoughts? Thanks so much...Ed

      Well I know Armilla got hit hard with the pendemac. Had some issues getting supplies in, which caused some massive delays late last year. Although I talked to them about a month ago and they told me they were back up and running. They are even sending me some of their new leather strap designs to check out.
      So I’m not sure what’s going on. My guess would be they are having issues getting the perlon and natos in, but they should still be responding to you. Otherwise that’s horrible customer service.
      Try sending them a message on Facebook and instagram. Just to make sure your email isn’t getting auto-flagged. The straps really are great, and generally they are worth waiting a little bit for. But not if they aren’t getting back to you. Let me know what happens.

    Let's agree on one thing: these "perlon straps" do not at at all resemble classic perlon straps. Classic perlon straps need to look and feel flimsy. That's the whole point. They are supposed to be super lightweight. If you hold up a perlon band to the light, you can see through them. That's classic perlon. These look like a seat belt. A nice seat belt, but nevertheless nothing like classic perlon. These are too solid looking...
