    I love the Crown and Buckle HD Nato. For any diver that needs a 22mm strap in particular it's fantastic because the strap is quite a bit thicker than a normal nato and just gives a better visual balance when used with a larger diver. I use them on all my Seiko divers. Great content Rob, thanks!

    I have the Tudor and a heap of Chevrons for variety. I rarely use the Tudor as it’s so soft and nice I feel like I will wear it out. Maybe not, it could be stronger than the Chevron, who knows... Comfort wise, the Tudor is a big step up.

    We are all learning and we all make errors. I know someone who has a two-toned Tudor bb 41 and bought a Tudor stainless steel bracelet so he would not scratch up the gold on the bracelet it came from. The price was shocking. I think several hundred dollars. Everything by Tudor is not cheap. Glad you got a strap you can use. I hate nylon straps, I like canvas ones though.

    This is a great NATO. A great brand too.
    American company too !!!!! There are two ways to wear a NATO - normal way and American Way (just put one ticking underneath and tuck both clasps together by folding the bottom one). The second way works great too and not
    as bulky.
    Btw the Tudor is junk !

    Maybe you should put it back up with a disclaimer, just to show how a person how they can do the same. Love the tudor and strap. And I agree some straps to replace an Omega, Rolex, Tudor can be insane in price, even to the point you could buy a Hamilton with the money. Very few people would care, and very few would see the clasp on the underside of one's wrist. Buying a good replacement or have a second strap when. you don't feel like a bracelet is great. CB, Watch Gecko, Vario would even give suggestions on your watch if you email them to assure a good fit and match.

    0:45 - Do people actually wear their straps like this, with the free end just flapping about? I couldn't do it. I really tried to like the Chevron, but it's still way too small even when adjusted to max length, and I only have a ~7" wrist. My biggest problem, however, isn't with the overall length; it's that the floating keeper is on the wrong side, in defiance of what I consider common sense. The point of the outside keeper is to secure the free end of the strap, so it stands to reason that the floating keeper should be on the outside on an adjustable strap, while the fixed one should be near the buckle. Haveston got this right with their single-pass straps; it allows flexibility to wear the free end close to 9:00 like a conventional NATO, or at any point on the wrist. Having the free end loose like this at 0:45 with the keepers bunched together looks ridiculous. There's no point in even having a second keeper in this case.
    If anyone would like to offer some different perspective, I always appreciate the discussion.

    • @CrownAndBuckle
      @CrownAndBuckle 4 месяца назад

      The way you described it, the strap if anything is too long for you, not too short. If it were longer, the fixed keeper would be even further away from the buckle. If you'd like the sliding keeper to be on the other side of the fixed keeper, you can do that easily by unthreading the strap from the fixed keeper and then moving the sliding keeper to the other end. It wouldn't be captured by the strap any longer, but that would only be an issue when you are taking the strap on or off a watch.

      I've seen people complain of this but haven't found any such marks on my watches after years of using Natos and perlon straps. I wonder if it is because of the way some people thread their watches onto straps. If you're impatient and thread both springbars and then pull the watchhead, thus rubbing the strap (and any grit) along the caseback, perhaps that is more likely to cause scratches. I've also seen photos of grid patterns rusting on the back of watches where perlons were used -- but I'm guessing that is due to particular skin chemistries and not washing the strap (i.e., letting salt from dried sweat accumulate).
